I see Allison has posted on Twitter about the Labour Party Conference's and Keir Starmer's unforgiveable position. Anyway that's not directly relevant to the subject of this thread; but sometimes I don't know how she keeps going.

What are the Labour Party doing?

This is bad enough to be deeply depressing.
The report (by Aljazeera) about shady goings on between the party and its parlimentary figures is also disturbing.

I was thinking about this earlier today, one of the arguments mermaids made was that LGBA had said that they shouldn’t be funded by the lottery.
Now the lottery has actually frozen funding, will that have some kind of bearing on the case?

Seems like a shit argument now.?!?

PicturesOfDogs · 11/10/2022 22:58

Sorry, wrong thread, was supposed to be on mermaids vs LGBA!

Imnobody4 · 13/10/2022 19:03

Just heard about this from Twitter. Stonewall have recently added this disclaimer to their website possibly in June.

• STONEWALL IS PROUD TO PROVIDE INFORMATION, SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE ON LGBTQ+ INCLUSION; WORKING TOWARDS A WORLD WHERE WE'RE ALL FREE TO BE. THIS DOES NOT CONSTITUTE LEGAL ADVICE, AND IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A SUBSTITUTE FOR LEGAL COUNSEL ON ANY SUBJECT MATTER.

Been consulting lawyers do you think?

ValancyRedfern · 13/10/2022 19:07

We had training from Stonewall in Septmeber (school) they were at great pains to tell us thy don't provide legal advice. Funny that!

Imnobody4 · 13/10/2022 19:25

Interesting - so Mermaids know nothing about medicine and Stonewall know nothing about the law. Sounds about right.

Also for those that don't want to read it all, but love BC.

Although the case against Garden Court Chambers has now concluded, the litigation against Stonewall continues. My appeal against them is to be heard on 13 and 14 May 2024 at the Employment Appeal Tribunal. Ben Cooper KC is again instructed, and I will update you all closer to the hearing on progress.

Wow! Her last case threw up some spectacularly "unique" witnesses with a range of unreliable evidence and a cast of support dogs, mums, helpers etc 😂

Cailleach1 · 18/04/2024 10:37

Ben and his little wren. A thing of beauty. Be still my beating heart.

I hope they get the proverbial book thrown at them!

If there was ever a reason to start televising court cases Allison Bailey is the reason. Who would have thought employment tribunals could be so gripping and important to us all.
Well done Allison for sticking with it.
