Thanks for the new thread ickky

Do we want one last thread for musing purposes?

Of course - we'll need somewhere to celebrate!

I like this positivity

Triotriotrio · 22/06/2022 21:31

Place marking so I can catch up. Still need to finish thread 17.

IloveHolby · 22/06/2022 22:55

I just finished reading BCs closing submission (it took a couple of hours). I am biased but feel it is excellent - very clear, I'd find in favour. I've not seen the closing statments for SW or GC though - are we able to access them at all? Has anyone read them & if so what are your opinions?

Braggiography · 22/06/2022 23:13

thanks, ickky!

I read the SW one - nowhere near as clear or convincing as BC's (but IADNAL, and possibly biased). I missed the GC(C) one although I can live without AH's deathless prose.

Don't forget the flat out lying. One of their points said that Stonewall do not try to replace sex with gender and they understand and respect the difference. They also haven't changed same sex to same gender attraction for the definition of homosexuality.

This is from their website just now.

Homosexual
This might be considered a more medical term used to describe someone who has a romantic and/or sexual orientation towards someone of the same gender. The term ‘gay’ is now more generally used.Angry

Thanks @ickky

TheBiologyStupid · 23/06/2022 00:02

Absolutely, ickky. And the SW assertions that Allison was somehow treated with too much leniency on the witness stand and overindulged by the panel will have gone down well with EJ Goodman and co.

FungalNail · 23/06/2022 07:34

How long do we need to wait for the outcome?

thankyou for all your hard work AB and BC. So many issues aired in court and nationally.

Cuck00soup · 23/06/2022 07:37

Signing in. Thank you Ickky. I would like to see the outcomes of both Maya's and Alison's cases before the thread is done, although something tells me we may need to be patient for a while yet.

Would it make sense to combine the two cases to discuss the outcomes on a single thread? A wren watch.

I can see pros and cons both ways, but however these cases finish, they have already contributed to re-establishing the normalcy of women being women and men not being women. The media reporting has moved too. What amazing women Maya and Allison are.

I would add, the immense reputational damage that can befall an organisation that hitches its wagon too firmly to Stonewall

Perhaps i'm getting confuzzled, but i'm sure that i read on CourtServe that there was a hearing for Allison this morning at 10:00.
But that can't be right, can it? It was all done and dusted on Monday, i thought.

IANAL.

I'd like to think that Ms Omambala had scripted all of her umm's and ah's, and that she had several pages consisting of these time-wasting verbal fillers.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 23/06/2022 10:57

That's a good point - i didn't think of that.

Yeah, I did log in, just after 10:00 and i've only just disconnected, cos the 'Waiting for the conference host to join' voice was starting to get on my nerves.
There's no way EJG would be that tardy.

I have the concentration of a gnat, so don't actually read and follow- I just dip in.

Is there a timescale for the outcome? Flowers

Very impressed by people's staying power. Well done!

Placemarking here so I can dip in and out of the musings
