While the official Black Friday sales period hasn't begun just yet, there are already some big discounts on toys to explore if you're getting ahead of the game with your Christmas shopping.

We'll be updating this guide regularly with deals as they launch from top toy retailers including Amazon, Argos, Boots, Very, Smyths and The Entertainer ahead of Black Friday on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30, 2026.

Black Friday toy deals to expect for 2026

Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026, but you may not need to wait until then to start your Christmas shopping. The Entertainer says its Black Friday offers will run throughout November, while other retailers are still revealing their plans.

Based on retailers’ Black Friday pages and current offers, these are the toy deals we’ll be watching for:

• LEGO and construction toys: Look out for reductions on selected sets, from smaller stocking fillers to bigger Christmas presents. LEGO has a dedicated 2026 Black Friday page, while Very’s Black Friday toy range includes LEGO City, Friends, DUPLO, Minecraft and Star Wars. Specific sets and savings may vary.

• Character toys, dolls and playsets: We’ll be watching for offers on Barbie, Bluey, PAW Patrol, Disney Stitch and Gabby’s Dollhouse. These brands feature on The Entertainer’s Black Friday sign-up page, although individual deals haven’t been announced there yet.

• Board games and puzzles: Keep an eye on family favourites such as Monopoly, Cluedo and Scrabble Junior. Selected editions are already discounted ahead of November, making it worth noting today’s prices before the Black Friday labels arrive.

• Audio players and story collections: Toniebox and Yoto offers are worth watching, including bundles with characters or cards. Both brands have run Black Friday promotions before, but we haven’t confirmed their 2026 UK offers yet.

• Interactive pets and educational toys: Electronic pets, learning toys and activity sets remain on our watchlist. Very’s Black Friday range includes Little Live Pets, Bitzee, VTech and LeapFrog, though inclusion doesn’t guarantee a discount on every product.

• Arts and crafts kits: Watch for savings on drawing sets, modelling dough, slime kits and other creative presents. These categories feature in Very’s Black Friday toy range, alongside outdoor toys, scooters and ride-ons.

• Outdoor toys and blasters: Larger presents such as playhouses, bikes and scooters are worth comparing across retailers, along with smaller gifts such as Nerf blasters. Check delivery charges before deciding whether a bulky bargain is good value.

• Gaming consoles and accessories: For older children, watch for console bundles, games and controller offers. Very says gaming consoles will feature in its Black Friday sale, but specific Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 deals remain unconfirmed.

Whatever’s on the Christmas list, compare the exact model or edition across shops. A large saving against RRP doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the cheapest price available.

What are the top toy trends of 2026? 

This year’s Christmas toy lists mix familiar characters with clever new ways to play. Screen-free entertainment, portable favourites and interactive creatures feature strongly, alongside a few presents adults may want to keep for themselves. These are the trends to watch:

• Screen-free play: Audio players, family games and hands-on building toys are prominent this year. John Lewis predicts a return to shared play, with construction sets, storytelling and traditional role-play toys bringing different generations together.

• Smaller toys for adventures away from home: Established favourites are getting portable versions. Toniebox Lite, CATAN – On the Road and MAGNA-TILES microMAGS Travel Treehouse offer entertainment for journeys, holidays and visits to grandparents.

• Film and TV favourites: Toy Story 5, Bluey, PAW Patrol and KPop Demon Hunters feature across this year’s predictions. Expect character plush toys, playsets and singing dolls, including the KPop Demon Hunters Rumi doll and Toy Story 5 Bullseye plush.

• Interactive pets and surprise reveals: Creatures that respond to touch, make sounds or hatch from eggs remain a Christmas talking point. This year’s examples include furReal Gabby the Grow & Roar Tiger, Little Live Pets My Magical Dragon Skye and Primal Hatch Megalodon.

• Retro toys with a modern twist: Nostalgia is shaping retailers’ predictions, from a miniature working vinyl player to LEGO’s Donkey Kong Arcade set. Wooden train sets and play kitchens also feature, giving parents plenty of opportunities to declare that they had something similar.

• Creative kits and miniature worlds: Badge makers, doll’s houses and construction sets put children in charge of designing, making and storytelling. Argos highlights hands-on crafting and small-world play, while John Lewis includes Connetix and Plus-Plus building sets.

• Collectables with personality: Mystery-box characters and distinctive soft toys are another theme. John Lewis has selected Momiji message dolls, which contain space for a personal note, and Mon Ami’s Colette Duck for its Christmas top 10. Check age labels carefully: some collectables are intended for teenagers.

• Toys for older builders and grown-ups: Detailed construction models are extending the Christmas toy list beyond younger children. Meccano’s Aston Martin Formula One model and LEGO Icons sets tap into the appeal of a satisfying building project that becomes a display piece afterwards.

Black Friday 2026 falls on November 27th, but expect early deals throughout November. Cyber Monday lands on November 30th this year.

What is Cyber Monday?

Similar to Black Friday, Cyber Monday is another annual sales day. It's always after the weekend following Black Friday, so this year it is on Monday 1st December.

The deals will continue over the weekend, so the two days often roll into one event. There's not as much of a difference between them now, but originally Cyber Monday was more about online deals, and Black Friday was more of an in-store event.

As shopping habits have dramatically changed since Black Friday began in the US though, there's less of a distinction as Black Friday is also focused on online discounts now too.
