Who's on the stand tomorrow, do we know?

Helleofabore · 10/05/2022 18:14

Isn't Allison back on the stand?

tabbycatstripy · 10/05/2022 18:16

Yes, Allison will probably continue under cross-examination for two more days.

IcakethereforeIam · 10/05/2022 18:17

I find this so serious, it's giving me a dry mouth and keeping me awake at night. That said I expect each new thread to start "when we left our heros..."

They are bloody heroic!

Pluvia · 10/05/2022 18:23

Thank you for being so organised, Icky. Tomorrow I will try and stick to being more factual and less commentatory. Being intensely questioned is draining, so I hope a day off will have given Allison a chance to gather strength.

Bewaldeth · 10/05/2022 18:23

Does Allison get support humans and animals tomorrow? A posse of support Mumsnetters? I hope she knows we're here anyway.

spotch · 10/05/2022 18:24

That's an anonymous Twitter account taking the piss out of a word that has been weaponised against people telling the truth. AB is a professional woman trying to progress her career, and in her case the term 'terf' is both abusive in the manner in which it was used, and very damaging (as we have seen).

Maya had it as her header for the two months leading up to her tribunal, is she not professional?

'Maya had it as her header for the two months leading up to her tribunal, is she not professional?'

She isn't employed. Are you honestly suggesting a woman working for a Stonewall DC organisation wouldn't be at risk of losing her job if she described herself in that way? Be serious. It's a gendered term of abuse that can put the subject at risk of threats, violence and unemployment. Some women use it ironically.

nauticant · 10/05/2022 18:29

That's a splendid OP ickky, thanks.

Wimbunds · 10/05/2022 18:32

Place marking x

OvaHere · 10/05/2022 18:38

Goodness a whole thread filled up today. It will take me a while to read through all of it. Would anyone be willing to summarise key take aways from today?

TIA

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/05/2022 18:41

The 3-4 strong support team in the room including a dog and his mum was a particular highlight.

The Stonewall guy made a berk of berkself, and there were distancing tactics between the respondant parties.

Bewaldeth · 10/05/2022 18:42

Not the dog's mum, just to clarify Eresh's post Grin

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/05/2022 18:44

Yes I'm not aware of the dog's gender identity.

OvaHere · 10/05/2022 18:49

Thanks. That all sound erm...interesting. 😁

Signalbox · 10/05/2022 18:52

.

Redshoeblueshoe · 10/05/2022 18:54

i imagine the poor dog has gone into hiding. There was also a rumour that the dog identified as a cat

tabbycatstripy · 10/05/2022 18:59

I’m sure I heard someone miaow at the end of the hearing.

womaniswomaniswoman · 10/05/2022 19:08

The best bit was when his mum fucked off, presumably because she thinks her son is a cock, but can't let her face show it.

Helleofabore · 10/05/2022 19:13

tabbycatstripy · 10/05/2022 18:59

I’m sure I heard someone miaow at the end of the hearing.

Yes. There was a miaow.

did it come from under the table of KM? I mean, we only have KM’s word that KM had a dog. After their many statements, I would not be so sure what KM says is a dog is a dog or is a dog because KM says the animal is a dog.

DomesticatedZombie · 10/05/2022 19:13

Thanks, ickky.

Looking forward to following the Yellow Brick Stone Wall Road.

tabbycatstripy · 10/05/2022 19:15

‘After their many statements, I would not be so sure what KM says is a dog is a dog or is a dog because KM says the animal is a dog.’

Well no, I wouldn’t be so certain either. He does have a dog, though. It was impeccably behaved during a hearing of several hours. Almost like it understood what was going on.

SpiderVersed · 10/05/2022 19:24

Don't forget that his generation have been consistently fed exaggerated suicide statistics and mark trans day of remembrance as if the statistics on murder are not from violent societies where most trans identifying people are sexual workers. They are constantly told that they will die, either by suicide or by murder. Is it any wonder that they are paranoid and afraid?

I agree with this wholeheartedly. My younger two are entirely on board and they honestly believe trans people are being massacred or beaten up in vast numbers. No matter how often I offer evidence and stats that it's all bollocks, they have many trans-identifying friends and take the Stonewall line as truth.

Actually, let's revisit that. They have many trans-identifying friends. I mean WTF? Whenever in the history of the world have regular high school students had many trans-identifying friends? Never. Social contagion running rife.

I know and love those kids; they're lovely. But they haven't changed sex, they're scared and mixed up and looking for a solution.
