@LiesDoNotBecomeUs @GeorgeOrwellsTurningGrave

After the unfortunate incident with the wren I thought it best to ask first about dogs. So I broached the idea of me borrowing a support dog.

Having now cleaned And bandaged my wounds I'm afraid I'll have to decline the offers of support dogs!

GeorgeOrwellsTurningGrave · 24/04/2024 12:28

Puppies can be unpredictable @Boiledbeetle so I accept your considered response and will let her get back to the serious business of dissecting soft toys and eating dandelions.

IcakethereforeIam · 24/04/2024 12:33

RocketPanda · 19/04/2024 12:36

My cats are assholes but I can offer support donkies. One in particular likes to bray loudly when there's a strange car, sort of like a guard dog.

Is that the correct plural of donkey then. I've never been sure. Always worried about committing some linguistic faux pas, like saying 'hyperbole' or 'beatified' out loud for the first time.

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 24/04/2024 12:46

@Boiledbeetle - you may not be supported but it sounds as if you are jealously guarded!

The pup has yet to meet any living creature impossible to win over -with oblivious love and joy.

I'd hate that faith in the world to be clawed away - so thank you for your precautions and I hope the wounds heal quickly.

I misread that as disrespecting soft toys and thought 'ergh!'

Ramblingnamechanger · 24/04/2024 13:00

Go for it Allison. Now the the time to be heard

NoBinturongsHereMate · 24/04/2024 13:12

While I doubt it can be used as direct evidence, surely the fact that MPs and MSPs have had to publicly retract comments on Cass - and have explicitly said they based their initial incorrect remarks on a bad Stonewall briefing - helps lean things in Alsion's favour.

GeorgeOrwellsTurningGrave · 24/04/2024 13:42

My mind is racing @Waitwhat23 😳 but then, I've been on these boards long enough.

Agree with @NoBinturongsHereMate - all power to her elbow.

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 24/04/2024 13:50

Yes - power to Allison. She is brave to continue to face the misery caused by oddly motivated activists. I understand why Cass stepped back from working on the next stage of the report (adults) though she has done such careful work for children.

Stonewall can't be allowed to get away with things that those they have 'advised' so strongly are being caught out on.

Totally.
And since MPs and MSPs spoke in their parliaments framing the Cass Report findings according to Stonewall's briefing, it's perfectly credible that Garden Court Chambers did Stonewall's bidding also.

This has definitely been my thinking. Stonewall can't say they haven't had that level of power of influence. The more it gets harder for Stonewall to deny this, the harder is to say there isn't an issue. Legal liability remains where it is, I guess, but it does make it a more interesting case.

SpinCityBlue · 24/04/2024 14:15

Yes, Dawn Butler MP is recorded in Hansard as saying that she was influenced by a Stonewall briefing - a briefing she relied on - into misleading the House.

Misleading parliament, ffs.

And then Stonewall said in response that it would be re-contacting its MPs' list! What fecking MPs' list??!

Lil ol' Stonewall my arse. It's shown in the last few days to an agog public that it's a hugely influential political lobbying group whose area of operations includes the Houses of Parliament. Thank you, Dawn Butler, for getting that put on the record so irrevocably.

'Male' hippo in Japan zoo found to be female after 7 years (bbc.com)
Just saying... how well do you know your hippo, SidewaysOtter??

I was derailed by my constant search for something to have a laugh about, and a couple of hippos, but, more importantly, my thoughts are with the heroic Allison, and I wish her success.

Good lord, that’s just one more thing to worry about, isn’t it? I could have been misgendering it all these years and I would have been oblivious to the hate crime I was committing.

Let's just hope it’s not a Scottish hippo or I’m really fucked if it decides to make a complaint.

Wow! The service on Mumsnet is marvellous!

Thank you @PoshCoffee

I have been looking and cannot find the listing. It isn't listed under the normal ET's.

I have found this website, but it only updates on the Friday for the following week. I will keep looking.

Should we all get support chickens instead because they certainly seem to be coming home to roost.

PoshCoffee · 07/05/2024 18:45

I’ve just checked Allison’s website and it definitely says “My appeal against them is to be heard on 14 and 15 May 2024 at the Employment Appeal Tribunal”

Theres no contact details on the website to clarify and I don’t believe AB uses Twitter anymore. It’s a mystery.

Citrusandginger · 07/05/2024 19:39

She's just sent an email out confirming the 14th/15th May. It looks like she is waiting to find out if Tribunal Tweets can live tweet.

Alison if you are reading - the very, very best of luck.

DrSpartacular · 07/05/2024 19:41

Marking place.

chilling19 · 07/05/2024 22:10

Just got the email from Allison as well, have requested a link if one is available.

ickky · 07/05/2024 23:14

I've emailed the London EAT, I will let you know if they reply.
