Allison Bailey v Stonewall - Employment Tribunal hearing Thread 17

The Tribunal started on 25th April, witness testimony concluded on the 26th May. Closing arguments for council will be on the 20th June. I don't know if the existing links and pins will work. I will email nearer the time to check.

If you would like to view online you need to send a request for access.
Send an email to

The subject heading of the email request should read

“MEDIA OR PUBLIC ACCESS REQUEST – Case number 2202172/2020 - Ms A Bailey – 20th June 2022.

Then ask for the pin for the online access.

You will be contacted with instructions on how to observe the hearing.

When joining the live tribunal please choose a non inflammatory/offensive name, everyone can see it in the chat - This is a court room, please behave accordingly.

Is there just one day for closing submissions? It's now 14.20. When will BC get his chance? He's not going to have much time.

First mention I've heard of the bin/ car interface too.

Not sure it's wise of AH to go do the old 'look at her demeanour/ she's a judge, are you seriously suggesting that she might have lied under oath' line. I don't think MB came over at all well.

SK in a subsequent message to MB about their conversation said something along the lines of 'hope the bump in the car wasn't serious'. That's the only time I think it was mentioned.

Yes, no surprises that SK and KM have been thrown under a bus. By both Stonewall and GCC.

I've got to go out soon. Bloody IO's bumbling and AH's whining means I'm going to miss Ben. I thought I might at least get to see a bit of him but it's looking unlikely.

"Ms McGahey was an IMPRESSIVE witness" - clearly BC has come to a different conclusion in his submission.

Using the Mandela analogy is not indicative of taking a side. She's decent, impartial and honest witness.

I get the impression that AB/BC have suggested that MB was not truthful.

Everyone is stressed now about the timings.

Not sure it's Hocky's job to tell EJ who was an impressive witness. Plus he's talking about CM who told us that lesbians wanting biological women only was comparable to apartheid. Other adjectives occur...

Absolutely Chrysanthemum5, as would we all, having been sworn in. So why would AH feel he needs to say it in his closing submission (or at all?)
