Allison Bailey v Stonewall - Employment Tribunal hearing Thread 17

The Tribunal started on 25th April, witness testimony concluded on the 26th May. Closing arguments for council will be on the 20th June. I don't know if the existing links and pins will work. I will email nearer the time to check.

If you would like to view online you need to send a request for access.

The subject heading of the email request should read

“MEDIA OR PUBLIC ACCESS REQUEST – Case number 2202172/2020 - Ms A Bailey – 20th June 2022.

Then ask for the pin for the online access.

Closing arguments for AB, GCC, and SW (20 June)

It's very hard not to yell out when the other side are speaking and talking rubbish (and I've only had experience in planning appeals). When it's your own life it must be really hard. She is a professional though and has been trained in patience until you can rebut calmly with evidence.

Look i know I'm rooting for the other side so I'm biased. But this presentation by IO is absolutely abysmal. UP

It's honestly like she only read this half an hour before the hearing.

I've ironed the school uniform and hoovered round while IO has been umming and ahhing.

Irritating as it is, I rely on captions to follow speech all the time. We pretty much all speak like this.

So KM didn't know AB at all - but knew her very presence would be dangerous to his team

"at risk" - please someone ask what the risk was.

Roll on Ben Cooper, this is painful

Think I caught quite a long disbelieving stare with eyebrows raised from the judge there.

This is painful.

Their original evidence was that they may have come across AB in the loos May d been challenged about their right to be there. It was a very racist argument playing on the angry black woman trope

Good grief, this is just embarrassing. It feels like someone should step in and tell her that she should stop now and let someone else have a turn.

I bet AH and BC won't speak like this. There will be some hesitations but this is particularly noticeable.

I hope Ej asks for clarification of the risk. I think she tried during the evidentiary phase (or was it the fab Martin) and didn't get an answer then either, apart from some guff about being scared in the toilets,

I wonder if IO's documents were prepared for her by RMW? That may explain her challenges in finding things

That's my understanding of it, as well, chilling.

So SW's case seems to be that it was all GCC because they mistakenly believed they would get lots of work from SW

She's much more fluent when she's giving opinions rather than setting out the law.

Do we know the general view taken by lawyers of public viewing of such tribunals?

They must surely hate it. Because I've seen some barristers on this AB case that I would never engage on a case.

Yes, I heard the original. But will Ben Copper pick up on it in his submission? Or will the judge consider it when looking at the evidence and arguments?
