I do agree that bourbons are third worst biscuit of all time. But I quite like a custard cream. Very dunkable. I love the M&S extremely chocolatey biscuits, and both Chocolate and plain digestives, as long as they are McVities. I’ve never turned down a Fox’s crunch cream either. I’ve not heard of Borders, I shall seek them out and tell you what my exquisite taste( preens) discerns.
Read the judgement. It helped me understand the direction of questioning.

These is so odd! You have my taste preferences! I have never come across that before. McVities chocolate digestives are glorious.

@Waitwhat23 it didn't exactly scream weekend blowout that photo does it!!

I'm about to scour my cupboards for odds and ends so I can't really talk. I think I've got a dusty refresher lolly tucked away somewhere. I am rather jealous of your Viscounts though. * *

Boiledbeetle · 28/05/2022 21:51

@Zebracat did you mention foxes crunch creams? Do you have any? I'll give you everything in the photo I posted a minute ago for just one crunch cream.

Pleeeeease? 🙏

I mean look at the photo it's so sad looking, and I've been eating stale cat licked lemon fairy cakes for days.l

Go on. You know you want to. (Sends subliminal thoughts to get you to bend to my will...)

if it helps you feel better they are two months out of date, which surprisingly gives them a wagonwheel type texture. It's....interesting!

Ooh that’s reminded me I’ve got some Love Hearts somewhere!

I love refreshers, haven’t had them for years.

@Waitwhat23 @ImNotOnTwitterButMySupportGoldfinchTweets

God you would have hated Christmas 2016 in my house then! Christmas dinner was rich tea biscuits.

To be fair I had had a migraine for the best part of December and rich tea biscuits were the only thing I could actually stomach.

I mean... yes. But sympathy for the migraine. I get them, and started 2021 with a 5 week on and off number. Got sent for an MRI in the end. Which showed that I did indeed have a brain, much to everyone’s surprise. But nothing obviously wrong with it, as by the time the appointment came through the migraine had stopped - fancy that! HmmGrin

Migraines are a right sod, and one of the few things that justify Rich Teas.

Sorry to derail the biscuit chat Biscuit, but what happens when we get the verdict on Maya's case? Will it just be a published announcement, or will there be some kind of public meeting at the court? I know nothing about how ETs work.

Boiledbeetle · 28/05/2022 21:19

I don't mind a custard cream but they are so hard to eat! it's like eating dry crackers. if you try to stick a whole one in your mouth you end up choking on biscuit dust.

But I feel it's only right that given the current situation I eat the biscuit of my very working class childhood in order to remind myself that I am not, as some in the legal profession believe, a privileged middle class white lady talking out of my privileged backside!

Bourbons and malted milk are the work of the devil though.

Keeping in touch with your roots. Good woman. <approving>

I remember the days when I too was grateful for that humble biscuit.

Did you used to take the top off, then scrape off the cream with your teeth and devour its sticky sweetness greedily, and then give the biscuit bits to the dog?

Boiledbeetle · 28/05/2022 21:34

Ooooh, bonus I've just found 2 viscount biscuits and a packet of Parma violets!! Hiding behind the Christmas pudding mountain.

I'm going to eat well tonight!!

You will feast like a Queen!

Viscounts . . . minty, minty Viscounts . . . 😋

I like parma violent - they taste like my grandma's face powder smelled and it brings back lovely memories.

I have 3 spaniels who will help you with the custards creams if you so desire.

AlisonDonut · 28/05/2022 22:29

If any of you are wondering where your snacks have gone, I feel I should be transparent and be clear it was me that reported it all to the snack police. I felt that the discussion was not fair to fig rolls and needed to be curtailed and the jaffa cakes had gotten far too big for their boots.

Sorry not sorry.

I bizarrely have good memories of that migraine. That's because my bloody amazing doctor was so concerned when she spoke to me on the phone, as I couldn't use one side of my body so couldn't get to the surgery, came out to do a house visit to make sure I hadn't had Stroke. Who knew there is such a thing as a Hemiplegic migraine.

All through the home visit she kept glancing behind me. Once she left I managed to turn round to see what she had been looking at behind me. It rather large glass kilner jar of a certain herb. I was mortified!

She was a fantastic doctor who used to be hours behind in her appointments because she would just sit and really talk to you to get to the bottom of what was going on. At one point I had an appointment and she admitted she'd been so wanting to help she'd gone back and read 40 years of doctors notes. From birth to that appointment. I don't think I'd still be here if she hadn't been my doctor.

I was so sad when she retired, but even then she was great and rang me up to make sure I made an appointment during her last week so we could At goodbye.

I really miss her.

I think (though IANAL and may be wrong) that the judgement comes in written form only. I think the parties and their lawyers may be sent advance copies so that they can prepare. I think from memory it's only 24 hours or something like that.

The judgement then goes live on the Tribunals website, and either or both sides can publicise it if they choose.

Or I may have dreamed all that.

SpindleSheWrote · 28/05/2022 22:52

@Boiledbeetle mate, I've knocking up a little cupboard in the corner of my sedan chair as we speak for the <cough> herbs and edibles. It'll be next to the medicinal brandy, behind the olives.

Now that IS a law that needs sorting out in the uk regarding the chronically ill but that's a whole other thread Smile

Boiledbeetle · 28/05/2022 22:52

@Emotionalsupportviper

I can't always get my brain to work right and sometimes it stops at what it thinks is the end of a sentence

I read "they taste like my grandma's face" mmmmmm tasty!

You have indeed described my childhood custard cream eating to a tee. Although as you couldn't actually guarantee that you would see a biscuit again any time soon I ate the biscuit bits to. If it was the last one I'd try to eat the biscuits first so i was just left with a sliver of cream!

I was going to say we didn't have a dog though, then remembered that actually we did. How could I forget that! it's probably because I actually wanted a cat!

The Viscount biscuits are no more! The parma violets are a third eaten and the custard creams, so far, remain unopened. There are still five stale cat licked lemon fairy cakes though!

Tomorrow is going to be a tough snack day

Boiledbeetle · 28/05/2022 22:56

@SpindleSheWrote a kindred spirit. I mean the olives obviously! They're what make life liveable. But only the green ones, don't mind an occasional stuffed one. Still talking about the olives!!

That's your choice obviously.

Live and let live, that's what we all say here. I'm glad we can remain civilised about these things.

I...erm...love love hearts, but can't read them anymore, my arms aren't long enough. I have to put them down and walk away. Then I'm left wondering wtf I'm doing and where the hell has my love heart gone.

I used to like nibbling the pattern off custard creams. I think, subconciously, I was trying to make them look as boring as they taste.

I spend vast parts of my day wondering what I'm doing. Why did I go in the dining room? Why I did I stand up? Have I just been for a pee or did I just think about going for a pee? Because I definitely want a pee!

It must have taken you hours to eat a biscuit! Or did you treat it as a speed sport?

Oh and just assume all the love hearts say KISS ME and eat the buggers before you lose them again!

IcakethereforeIam · 29/05/2022 00:50

Oh Beetle that might be the best advice I've received all year. Thank you.

Seriously, thank you.

Boiledbeetle · 29/05/2022 00:54

It's a pleasure ICake!

Well that seems a fitting end to my day, especially as the cat has already called me to the bedroom twice and been back down to chivvy me along once. If I don't go soon I will be sorry.

I'm coming my sweet...... It's only because he gets bedtime snacks you know!

IcakethereforeIam · 29/05/2022 00:57

Bed for me too. Sweet(ie) dreams.
