boiled/chysanth - me too. Crawled up through the patriarch-invested swamp, to find myself fighting not to live in the fucking Handmaid's Tale. It makes me so angry.

Chrysanthemum5 · 26/05/2022 15:44

Has AH had his head in his hands most of the day? I bet he's glad it's almost over!

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 26/05/2022 15:44

I imagine EJG's going to be so relieved when this is all over.

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 15:44

Her answers are much shorter now, as though she just wants to get this bit over with

Mollyollydolly · 26/05/2022 15:44

Allison wasn't allowed to defend herself. God it stinks.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 15:45

BC did you check with the claimant whether she gave consent for her response to be provided.

SH No, nobody did that

SidewaysOtter · 26/05/2022 15:45

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 26/05/2022 15:21

Barristers gossip Grin As do clerks. Honestly, it's come up in numerous discussions in the last couple of weeks inside and outside chambers, with loads of people , clerks, juniors, silks, solicitors.

HOW Garden Court didn't think this would damage their reputation - even if it goes in their favour, there's been a LOT of dirty laundry aired - escapes me.

Any closed world is a hotbed of gossip and intrigue at the best of times. The idea that we all stick to neutral, polite topics is laughable Grin

Chrysanthemum5 · 26/05/2022 15:45

SH seems rather flustered and annoyed - I contrast how angry and aggressive the GCC witnesses have been compared to Alison's dignity

nauticant · 26/05/2022 15:45

SH decided that they couldn't present AB material to McGahey because AB didn't consent to this but no one at GCC asked AB if she consented.

Pyjamagame · 26/05/2022 15:46

Sh trying to steer the questioning again,

Chrysanthemum5 · 26/05/2022 15:46

I'm curious as to what other Chambers now think of GCC?

Birdsweepsin · 26/05/2022 15:46

VaginaRegina · 26/05/2022 15:43

One thing I am very much enjoying is the appalled silence from SH and other witnesses when BC says: "So you confirm xyz?" "Yes" "So now may I direct your attention to the email/screenshot etc at page blah of the bundle?" and they realise they have just contradicted themselves.

Yes me too

SidewaysOtter · 26/05/2022 15:47

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 26/05/2022 15:44

I imagine EJG's going to be so relieved when this is all over.

I'd be having "Keep Free" in my diary for a good week, while I spent a lot of time lying down in a darkened room and muttering "I never want to hear the word "bundle" again"...

mcduffy · 26/05/2022 15:48

Gosh, they must be exhausted after a long case like this. Barristers (Ben) really earn their fee, don't they?

Boiledbeetle · 26/05/2022 15:48

they think they are all being so clever with their word salad all anyone is hearing, from all sides now. "we didn't think about Allison, we din't give a fuck about Allison because her views made her so unworthy of thought we just didn't bother about her at all..

nauticant · 26/05/2022 15:49

SH explaining why she cut out parts of AB's material about the Cotton Ceiling so McGahey wouldn't see them.

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 15:49

Re sending to CM
BC: you took the extract MS gave you, and omitted all the first para from the explanation which is the bit that AB said was the coercive behaviour

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 15:49

SH I was asked what was the content of the workshop. My assessment was she was looking for happened at the workshop. For that reason I didn't provide what AB said about the workshop.

Signalbox · 26/05/2022 15:49

I bet there’s a bit of schadenfreude going on 😆

ifIwerenotanandroid · 26/05/2022 15:49

Lesbians' knickers ahoy!

TheBiologyStupid · 26/05/2022 15:49

Should have just sent McGahey (sp?) Allison's entire response.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 26/05/2022 15:49

Have I missed something, or has RMW not spoken at all apart from the odd comment? Is that usual for a junior?

Pyjamagame · 26/05/2022 15:49

'maybe I shoud have sent that to her' (AB's material, not a paraphrase of it)

chilling19 · 26/05/2022 15:50

Just so we are clear, the first article that comes up when I googled 'cotton ceiling' is this from the fab Miranda Yardley.

medium.com/{mention:mirandayardley}/girl-dick-the-cotton-ceiling-and-the-cultural-war-on-lesbians-and-women-c323b4789368

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 15:50

SH: may be I should have sent that in, but I didn't not send it for any underhand or malicious reason. I just sent what I thought CM wanted.

BC: to extract that para makes it nonsense.
