@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus the dolphin thread???? Now!! Now would be a good time! Pretty please

@oviraptor21 "Oh my - serious cat tree envy at the Rolls Royce of cat trees"

Alas I also have cat tree envy, I nicked the photo off the internet. The shame!!

I’d put money on the stair carpet and upholstered furniture in that house being in tatters because cats don’t play by anyone’s rules. Their cats sleep on the ironing pile and in empty boxes, snubbing the magnificent cat tree. The owner only took that photo because they were so surprised to see one of the cats actually using it (top right). 🤣

My thanks to all the thread regulars who provide great commentary and bants to bring Allison’s trial to life. I can’t follow it live due to work. The threads are my guilty pleasure at lunchtime and in the evening.

Waitwhat23 · 25/05/2022 21:08

This morning I left the threads at half way through thread 12 but I haven't been able to access my phone/tablet at all today so was quite astounded to find that it's now well into thread 14!

Fantastic comments from everyone. Slightly glad I missed the Twitter tutorial, SS sounds....delightful and I really love the idea of the vignette of all the women listening to and reading about the case, going about their daily business.

Boiledbeetle · 25/05/2022 21:08

Its so wrong that there are all these cases.

You know these cases all make me really really glad I'm no longer well enough to work. Because if I was I'd have been sacked by now with the way things are these days.

Boiledbeetle · 25/05/2022 21:13

@Waitwhat23 "I really love the idea of the vignette of all the women listening to and reading about the case, going about their daily business"

In my case it would be shuffling to the kitchen and back for snacks and tea. Occasionally farting loudly and having serious conversations with cats.

There was a thread about her in January.

@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus the dolphin thread???? Now!! Now would be a good time! Pretty please

Stick with it, it's fabulous. And, tbh, after the testimonies of some of the witnesses in this case, it feels positively reasonable and level-headed.

There is another employment hearing beginning in December for a social worker who was reported for posting about reform of the Gender Recognition Act on a private Facebook Group. Someone took screenshots and reported her to Social Work England. Her name is Rachel Meade. Maybe we could all get behind her once this hearing is finished.

You set the thread up and I will be here, with support dragon/dragon fruit/mother and dog.

ickky · 25/05/2022 21:22

@Penguintears I hope your surgery goes well and swift tomorrow.

@WomensLandArmy I hope your little one is feeling better and the fever is down.

I'm off to bed as I will be up very early to get everything done before 9am.

Se ya all tomorrow.

Employment Tribunal Judge Sarah Goodman is my new heroine. She has done a magnificent job in managing this Tribunal in very challenging circumstances. She has not flinched from the occasional technical difficulties of maintaining an online hearing with maximum public access to the proceedings. Her patience and determination to exercise fairness in this tribunal has been exemplary. She has upheld her authority to control proceedings - it is her court room.

Raise your glass and give a toast to the magnificent Judge Sarah Goodman.

Whatever judgement she and her two panel lay members arrive at I think no-one can fault her management of this tribunal.

Maybe, for the future, all court room legal proceedings will allow such access online for the public gallery. This case must have set a precedent about public interest in our judicial process.

Furries · 25/05/2022 21:34

Just caught up on this, thanks all. Was so annoying that I couldn’t get back in after lunch, must have tried about 20 times. Fingers crossed I have more success tomorrow.

Did smile this morning when I saw a Spartacus join the list of guests.

Well done to everyone for staying awake through DdMs testimony. His eye action was definitely distracting.

Another couple of shots for the MN montage. One mother being handed a poo. And quite a few posters suddenly having a lightbulb moment re Nauticant’s username 😂

Boiledbeetle · 25/05/2022 21:36

@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus thank you.

I'm all done for the day. The cat, the neighbours cat, and the next streets cat are all fed. My clothes are ready for the morning. My shopping is booked for the 7.30 - 8.30am slot. I'm ready for that 9am start.

And now I'm of to bed with a cup of tea to read the dolphin thread.

To all, especially our thread starter extraordinaire@ickky, I shall bid you a goodnight. 🛌

I'd like to echo these good wishes. Stay strong, people, the support force is with you.

If posters feel like being extra extra vivid tomorrow in their accounts of MB's evidence, then those posters forced to miss it (minor op, interview, meetings, training, and me forced to buy bloody fence panels), that'd be grand and we'll have a fully immersive catch-up to look forward to.

Boiledbeetle · 25/05/2022 21:43

@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus OK, only read the opening post of the dolphin thread, but I think I'm going to like it. Thanks again!

I reckon I can get that polished off before the extra heavy cat comes to use me as a pillow.
Night night.

Even more shit than usual will be getting done by women before 9am tomorrow.

Yes, I am planning to get up REALLY EARLY and time all my emails to send throughout the day 😂

dennisnoelkavanagh.substack.com/p/similar-to-south-africa-attempting?

Ironically, Mr. Cooper QC had just finished a series of questions about the BSB Social Media advice to barristers to the effect that heated debates should be avoided. As the social media furore following the South Africa tweet aptly demonstrates, this exchange has simply caused a heated debate (and horrified reaction).

Not sure if this has been posted yet. The above is an irony which escaped me till now. I wonder if the Tribunal can take the social media shitstorm caused by the “don’t be controversial” professional standards expert into consideration!

Penguintears · 25/05/2022 22:04

Thanks for the well wishes for my surgery. This thread will be the best distraction!

Cheers, EJG! 👏🍷

I was like that on Monday when my washing machine flooded the kitchen. And now I need fence panels. It's laugh a minute round my gaff.

Thanks everyone for the updates today.

I also want to join the sick kids club (belatedly). The only reason I could watch last week was because my kid had the worst sick bug ever. So I had my laptop next to me the whole day while I sat with her. Back at work now so relying on you guys.
