I thought a name change was in order, in tribute to the outstanding Martin Reuby, with a nod to the support aviary.
Still catching up from yesterday. Sending love and solidarity to Allison through this traumatic shitshow. In awe of her strength.

Birdsweepsin · 26/05/2022 09:19

She's scaring me now.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 09:19

MB just said if your spouse transitions, it's transphobic to not accept it in a marriage.

She's getting angry already.

Penguintears · 26/05/2022 09:19

I'm in! Shocked by the fact that MB looks exactly like my old boss!

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 09:19

She is actually suggesting nobody should have any objection to remaining married to someone who is undergoing a ‘sex change’. That’s lunacy. ‘Heaven forbid’ is definitely dismissive of women’s reasonable desire for a choice about whether to remain in what is about to become a same-sex marriage.

nauticant · 26/05/2022 09:19

Now this, people, is what a high priest of the gender identity ideology looks like.

Appalonia · 26/05/2022 09:19

So this is the woman who's been blithely giving our rights away. Does she remind anyone else of Nicola Sturgeon?

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 09:20

She is outright calling it transphobia and homophobia!

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 26/05/2022 09:20

How is EJ reacting to this?

RoaringtoLangClegintheDark · 26/05/2022 09:20

She’s actually trying to claim that “heaven forbid” wasn’t dismissive?

And this woman is now a judge?

Fuck.

awkwardoldlady · 26/05/2022 09:21

p5977 sposual veto - 'heaven forbid' is being positioned as being dismissive as the spouses concerns.

She's saying she wasn't being dismissive but asked family law colleagues to look into it.

Elsewhere she's suggesting that any objection to your spouses transition is homophobia/transphobia.

ickky · 26/05/2022 09:21

Oh great, very loud drilling at mine. The electric board are doing some major works and my electric may will go off. 😡😡Typical.

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 09:21

In her witness statement she claims not to regard gender critical views as bigoted. Hmm.

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 09:21

MB started the discussion of spousal veto at this conference but seems to know off the top of her head less about it than probably many people on this thread do.

MB saying we need to look at whole discussion not just sections.

BC: your comment 'Heaven forbid!' at the conference that someone should have to stay in a marriage when the other person has now come out as trans.

MB pushes back of course. And points out that BC has limited time.

itsnearlyallover · 26/05/2022 09:21

Ben has a wicker basket in his background which is the cutest thing ever.

CatsOperatingInGangs · 26/05/2022 09:21

nauticant · 26/05/2022 09:19

Now this, people, is what a high priest of the gender identity ideology looks like.

Quite. I would not like a drink with this woman. She’s the sort to suck all the atmosphere out of a room.

PrelateChuckles · 26/05/2022 09:22

MB is so heteronormative she bangs on about it being homophobic to care about a spouse changing gender but doesn't see that it obviously applies to people in same-sex relationships who now find themselves in a straight relationship?

She's awful.

Zeugma · 26/05/2022 09:22

This.

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 09:22

Oh please.

awkwardoldlady · 26/05/2022 09:22

Some concerns 'might' be legitimate but others are prejudice.

I wonder who it is who she thinks should get to judge?

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 09:23

MB: Concerns of some people, when their spouse is transitioning, may be based on prejudice.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 09:23

EJ and MR both writing furiously

itsnearlyallover · 26/05/2022 09:23

MB is the GCC gender mothership, isn't she?

Sorry, I mean the GCC birthingpersonship.

Chrysanthemum5 · 26/05/2022 09:24

Bloody bell MB likes the sound of her own voice - it's evidence not a lecture!

FingonTheValiant · 26/05/2022 09:24

AH is already holding his head / covering his eyes. Seems early in the day...
