Much, much blinking. I have a feeling that's supposed to be a sign of being insecure about what you're saying. Or maybe insincere, disingenuous?

CriticalCondition · 26/05/2022 09:13

MB trying to assert herself from the very off, unnecessarily saying just wait please Mr Cooper while she finds the page.

awkwardoldlady · 26/05/2022 09:13

Spousal veto getting some (overdue) sunlight

CatsOperatingInGangs · 26/05/2022 09:13

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 26/05/2022 09:11

I read that as his testicle all over British Cycling 😀

Stonewall’s testicles are everywhere 😆

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 26/05/2022 09:14

May 2018
presentation/training MB gave on reforming Gender Recognition Act
re spousal veto
MB says spouse can prevent someone from getting full Gender Recognition Certificate

Clymene · 26/05/2022 09:14

Michelle can't remember spousal veto information.

WookeyHole · 26/05/2022 09:14

CriticalCondition · 26/05/2022 09:13

MB trying to assert herself from the very off, unnecessarily saying just wait please Mr Cooper while she finds the page.

She also said thank you in response to ' Thank you Madam' as if it had been to her.

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 09:14

She’s not sure she can assist BC any further.

We’ll see, Michelle.

ResisterRex · 26/05/2022 09:15

Moving into "not sure" "might be right" territory today.

The term "spousal veto" is so disingenuous. And ignorant of the law on marriage. Marriage is a contract and a GRC fundamentally changes the terms of the contract. It would have driven a coach and horses through everyone's marriage and CP.

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 09:15

(On the spousal veto.)

Gabcsika · 26/05/2022 09:15

"I think it was discussed during the......" ...."training"

Well, she can't say she can't remember anymore!

Clymene · 26/05/2022 09:15

She's crossing her arms and doing little smiles and blinking a lot. I think she wasn't expecting this line of questioning

CriticalCondition · 26/05/2022 09:16

WookeyHole · 26/05/2022 09:14

She also said thank you in response to ' Thank you Madam' as if it had been to her.

😮

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 26/05/2022 09:16

I have no interest in taking training about the spousal veto from MB as somebody who is demonstrating so little knowledge of it while accusing others of simplifying it.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 09:16

She's talking way to much. going to tie herself in knots if she keeps on like this.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 26/05/2022 09:16

If all these forgetful, waffly, obstructive barristers were the ones examining the witnesses, would they find that kind of behaviour acceptable?

Birdsweepsin · 26/05/2022 09:16

Smuggy Mcsmugface

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 09:17

Is her interrupty style nerves, or aggression?

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 26/05/2022 09:17

MB is very very thirsty.

ZandathePanda · 26/05/2022 09:17

Timeframe Michelle Brewer was a director of Gendered Intelligence:

Allison Bailey v Stonewall - Employment Tribunal hearing Thread 14
Zeugma · 26/05/2022 09:17

Just to quote a bit from that article about MB I linked to:

She had long been inspired by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, both by her practice and judgments, such as US versus Virginia 1996, majority judgment striking down the all-male admissions policy at Virginia military Institute. Closer to home she admired Baroness Hale and sent the paper 100 years of women in the law to every female friend in practice.

I think this is the same MB.

CriticalCondition · 26/05/2022 09:17

She's going to have to ask for a break in about 10 minutes the way she's chugging that water every few seconds.

WomensLandArmy · 26/05/2022 09:18

Gender, not Sex, Good grief

NancyDrawed · 26/05/2022 09:18

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 26/05/2022 09:17

MB is very very thirsty.

I would not be able to concentrate on the proceedings if I was drinking that much water - my bladder would be screaming!

LipbalmOrKnickers · 26/05/2022 09:18

I wasn't dismissive, she said dismissively...
