I think there is further confusion about discrimination in the apartheid/homosexuality comparison.

Laws preventing interracial marriages are discriminatory. But is it really discrimination for (say) a Muslim woman of Somali heritage to say she is only interested in a relationship with a man from the same cultural background, who shares her religious practices and language? That seems like personal choice to me.

Gabcsika · 24/05/2022 14:10

Colin Cook has a nice speaking voice :)

MissPollysFitDolly · 24/05/2022 14:10

The situation with the bundle links is very annoying. The really should just make today's witness statements downloadable.

Thanks ickky for the threads and thanks everyone for this morning - it was amazing to read.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 24/05/2022 14:11

Is that the hail??

SidewaysOtter · 24/05/2022 14:11

I’ve worked out who Mr Hochhauser reminds me of: Victor Meldrew.

nauticant · 24/05/2022 14:11

Hailstorm at BC's gaff isn't stopping play.

Mollyollydolly · 24/05/2022 14:11

A hail storm. Hope support wren is sheltered.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 24/05/2022 14:11

I thought it was the 4 Horseman of the Apocalypse!

Clymene · 24/05/2022 14:12

Ben being drowned out by hail storm is so British

GrumpyMenopausalWombWielder · 24/05/2022 14:12

That's some racket from the hail storm!

pardonmytits · 24/05/2022 14:12

Hailstorm at Ben’s 😂

ickky · 24/05/2022 14:12

It's getting biblical. We have hail stone noise drowning out at BC.

I thought he was in a swanky extension but he's actually working from home in tin shed in the garden Grin

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 14:12

I’m expecting to see a rider on a pale horse next, and a plague of frogs.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 24/05/2022 14:12

Nailed it! Now that's all I will think of when I see both!

funnelfanjo · 24/05/2022 14:13

Hailstorm - I thought Ben was working in an outside Garden Office. I have one too and sympathise, I have exactly the same issue. Magpies stomping up and down sound like they are in hobnail boots.

SettingsO · 24/05/2022 14:06

I've only just managed to join this tribunal, and and I am thinking I've missed the best bits with the previous fella sounding so awful. This guy seems quite staid.

It's a welcome relief.

I wonder when the plague of locusts will hit...

User237845 · 24/05/2022 14:13

Thank you ickky for the new thread.

Could I ask if someone could possibly post the 5 detriments again please? I think they did a thread or 2 back, but with Mumsnet's search as it is, I can't find them.

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 14:13

‘I thought he was in a swanky extension but he's actually working from home in tin shed in the garden.’

I love thinking of BC doing the boss-level from his shed.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 24/05/2022 14:13

Nice joke in the chat about getting some Bose QC headphones.

dworky · 24/05/2022 14:14

I also have the hailstones in East London

SettingsO · 24/05/2022 14:14

Colin Cook has a nice speaking voice

Yes, he doesn't sound like a baddie.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 24/05/2022 14:14

IANAL but I get the impression AH/JR get the witness statement in order if there are amendments to it, then BC examines. If no amendments, straight to BC.

Hailstorm chez BC! Makes a change from a twitterstorm.
