Am delighted for her. Pity about the Stonewall side, but it was a stretch. It would have helped GCC to perhaps make a claim against Stonewall and recoup some of their costs!

Kirrin Medcalf was very nicely walked through taking personal responsibility for that email etc. and distancing self from speaking for SW at the time.

TofuDelights · 27/07/2022 12:21

Wow!!! This is wonderful news! Thank you Allison, you absolute legend! My heart has been thumping for the past half an hour ♥️

ickky · 27/07/2022 12:21

OMFG WELL DONE ALLISON BAILEY.

I'm crying.

Soooo happy. What a woman! Stonewall have shown themselves to be an absolutely shocking shower of arseholes and regardless of this, they are finished. It's coming round the corner at speed.

Is it too early for a glass of something bubbly?

Madcats · 27/07/2022 12:22

I hope this gets widely reported in the mainstream press.

I hope Allison, her team and key supporters have some lovely plans for this evening.

MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking · 27/07/2022 12:22

She may have lost against Stonewall, but which employer in their right mind would now want to pay them for their "advice" when they see a result like this?! They are over.

Congratulations Allison 🥳

FedUpWithBriiiiick · 27/07/2022 12:22

Amazing!!! I'm whooping and cheering here!!

Emotionalsupportviper · 27/07/2022 12:22

This is WONDERFUL news!

I'm actually weeping with joy and relief here! Really physically weeping - I hadn't realised myself just how invested I was.

Allison - you absolute star!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Steppedonalego · 27/07/2022 12:23

Alison, this is wonderful. So very pleased for you.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 27/07/2022 12:23

Regardless of the legal court, I believe she has surely won against Stonewall in the court of public opinion. Which they will fucking hate.

YES!

InvisibleDragon · 27/07/2022 12:23

That's amazing news. Huge huge congratulations to Allison. Absolutely phenomenal courage - what a wonderful role model and advocate for truth. Just brilliant.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 27/07/2022 12:23

I suppose the bittersweet thing is that GCC have taken the rap for failing to exercise due diligence and ignoring the law and basic democracy while Stonewall, the bloated organisation that imposes its toxic values on society, gets away scot free.
Some GCC barristers have done a lot of good in the world and although some were exposed for holding regressive views of lesbians and woman generally, I know this doesn't represent most of them.

RaininginDarling · 27/07/2022 12:23

Fantastic news! What a woman! I can only thank you, truly, for everything you've bought into the light, Alison Bailey, I imagine, at great personal cost. I'm going to know have a coffee and support biscuit to celebrate 🍾

OMFG WELL DONE ALLISON BAILEY.

I'm crying.

Me, too @ickky

The tears are coursing down my cheeks - this is so good!

Congratulations Allison 🥳

Quite. Any 'advice' received from stonewall runs the risk of organisations being taken to court, and losing.

MsMarvellous · 27/07/2022 12:24

I have a tear in my eye too. This is huge.

SerotinaPickeler · 27/07/2022 12:24

Well done Allison and all your team from a very grateful supporter and contributor. You have made my day ❤

ickky · 27/07/2022 12:24

This is the best bit so far.

In doing so the tribunal held that my protected gender critical belief also included the belief that "gender identity theory as proselytised by Stonewall is severely detrimental" to women, and to lesbians.

Really want to read the whole judgement.

bellinisurge · 27/07/2022 12:24

Wonder if GCC will now sue Stonewall for shit advice that will cost them thousands? Probably not but it's all there in glorious sunlight

MotherofTerriers · 27/07/2022 12:24

Well done Allison, you are a very brave lady. I hope this is widely reported and helps to stop the Stonewall juggernaut. I hope you've got a wonderful celebration planned

Apollo442 · 27/07/2022 12:25

So GCC have been found guilty for acting on Stonewall's illegal advice but not Stonewall for giving said advice. Ok... I think Stonewall are fairly covered in shit over this and good luck to them spinning this as any sort of positive. 'Listen to our illegal advice and get sued'.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 27/07/2022 12:25

If it doesn't sound too crazy I suspect that AB not winning her case against SW might not be such a great thing for SW business model. We'll tell you to break the law but when you get sued it's nowt to do with us, is not a compelling offer in business speak.

The sunlight is priceless.

timeisnotaline · 27/07/2022 12:25

What a relief! I hope the damages are enough to make a difference for her too. I hope GCC are so so sorry for their awful behaviour. Imagine how she feels!!

CompleteGinasaur · 27/07/2022 12:25

Have either of the respondents (especially Stonewall) commented at all?

AlisonDonut · 27/07/2022 12:25

So so happy. Well done Allison.

Hopefully this will be the final nail in the Stonewall.
