Barristers gossip Grin As do clerks. Honestly, it's come up in numerous discussions in the last couple of weeks inside and outside chambers, with loads of people , clerks, juniors, silks, solicitors.

I beg to differ. We have had numerous testimonies over the last 2 weeks that barrister and clerks most certainly DO NOT gossip. They only speak of Football or if you are gay you may also speak of Mariah Carey or drag races!!!!

Obviously this discussion only happen rarely as they are soooo busy/on holiday/at the beach/driving with kids.

I know that this is probably the last of the issues with this hearing, but why is there a God Fearing Christian sharing links to the bundle?

anyone can copy & paste bundle links in the chat from previous links - I've done it before though I'm not a god fearing christian.

TheClitterati · 26/05/2022 15:28

just a do gooder athiest Grin

Pyjamagame · 26/05/2022 15:28

'an element of dyslexia' Is this a thing?

GAHgamel · 26/05/2022 15:29

Oh my. This bit of evidence about the member of chambers who was being targeted for supporting a trans activist, and the things they were suggesting to counter that (taking screenshots, reporting to the police and twitter, etc) are a marked contrast to how they were treating Allison.

CriticalCondition · 26/05/2022 15:29

chilling19 · 26/05/2022 15:19

Even if they do, what organisation in its right mind would want to associate with them now? GCC has been shown to be completely incompetent due to accepting Stonewall's version of the world and law.

I said somewhere on these threads that there's already been a trickle I think the real DC exodus will start with the many, many solicitors' firms. It should be lead by the Law Society FFS but for years they've been as much use to the profession as a chocolate teapot.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 26/05/2022 15:29

Ooh, back in time for a Twitterstorm!

Indeed. Which has been the subject of some of the most animated discussions because everyone knows it's utter bollocks Grin

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 15:30

Right, so little abuse = fine, report to police. Lots of abuse = criticism, throw her to the wolves.

Boiledbeetle · 26/05/2022 15:30

i worked in a completely different field to law, yet it was a fairly enclosed industry and we all tended to know one another, if only through a couple of steps of association.

But we all knew some of the shit that was going down in other businesses within our field. Within our own, mainly all male companies, gossip was rife. everyone knew everything. and that was in the days of fax machines and purple coloured photocopies.

the internet and email made it so much easier.

modern social media makes it even more likely there would be gossip.

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 15:31

"consequences" - don't speak up, women. The consequences are on your own head.

nauticant · 26/05/2022 15:31

Oh, it's now the McGahey intervention.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 15:31

BC compares to colleague being treated differently. Suggestions by board that abuse should be screen shotted and handed to police. Immediate action taken by board. Consider a press stated from GCC condemning abuse. SH keen to pursue in that case. Strongly endorsing actions suggested.

SH junior member had been subject to abuse for her work in court. Different context. Twitterstorm. Difficult to deal with, no precedent, everyone doing their best

Twitterstorm!

Starts to explain twitterstorm

EJ yes we know

SH AB entered into toxic heated debate by her own choice

EJ understand

Zeugma · 26/05/2022 15:31

She was on the verge of saying Allison brought it all on herself there, I feel.

FacebookPhotos · 26/05/2022 15:31

'an element of dyslexia' Is this a thing?

The level of impairment of someone with dyslexia will vary. There is a minimum level of impairment you need to have to be diagnosed with dyslexia. But some people have more severe dyslexia than others.

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 15:32

BC: In 2018 JA, GCC member, was receiving abuse. It was suggested that screenshots be provided to police to trigger crime report and cease and desist letter sent from chambers.

SH: was v junior member subject to abuse arising from her work in court. I wasn't involved in decision making re AB's threats received. No precedent for the AB case - it was a twitterstorm, a deluge. JA's was just one person sending abuse. If you are doing a job in court that's one thing, but if like AB you enter into toxic heated debate.....and on....

BC and SH both shut her up

Signalbox · 26/05/2022 15:32

EJG getting fed up of SH labouring each point to within an inch of it's life.

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 15:32

Sorry again - BC and EJ were doing the shutting up

TheBiologyStupid · 26/05/2022 15:33

BC: Which is in the same thread, but separated by thousands of pages in the bundle....!

nauticant · 26/05/2022 15:35

Again, SH like all the rest took exception to AB calling Morgan Page a "male", and wasn't exercised by the reasonable claim that Overcoming the Cotton Ceiling involves coercion. Now, in court, it's all the other way round.

TheClitterati · 26/05/2022 15:35

GCC Barristers are all very educated & important, don't do paywalls so don't read broadsheet newspapers, and consider Pink News their "go to" source of legitimate information on "LGBT+" issues.

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 15:35

'to avoid distasteful conduct'

It's not distasteful to me to call out people trying to pressure lesbians into sex with men.

ickky · 26/05/2022 15:36

Doesn't she prattle on. 😴

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 26/05/2022 15:37

Indeed @EmbarrassingHadrosaurus - that is an excellent analysis, thank you.

Pyjamagame · 26/05/2022 15:37

SH now leading the cross examination of BC
