Has there been a definition of "transphobic" or "transphobia"?

Oops is that a date mistake?

Boiledbeetle · 26/05/2022 14:41

What email was she looking at when she looked shocked? I'm having trouble keeping up this afternoon

MagnoliaTaint · 26/05/2022 14:42

Hollaback Mumsnet!

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 14:42

BC you couldn't have been influenced by reports as they had not yet been published.

SH Not sure, thought Allison was going to speak.

nauticant · 26/05/2022 14:42

She's making stuff up. She really needs to pull this together.

ickky · 26/05/2022 14:43

The date of her email was 24th October at 18.34.

Looking back over the past few weeks, if there's one newspaper that gets referred to again and again as supporting trans activist positions, it's not The Guardian, it's The Independent.

It has been since 2017/18. They also platform some dubious individuals.

TheClitterati · 26/05/2022 14:43

how many references to Pink News as a new souprce by all these barristers. They have no idea how discredited PN is do they?
Blinded

Birdsweepsin · 26/05/2022 14:43

I read stuff that confirmed my bias, yes

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 14:43

BC: The WPUK meeting was later, you couldn't have taken that into account.

SH: Oh, perhaps it was just the news that the WPUK meeting was going to happen.

MrsDrake · 26/05/2022 14:43

Pink News thinks that reality is an anti trans organisation, so that’s not really a gotcha.

Fuck me. A ‘reliable’ outlet now.

I really hope ECJ goes and reads some pink news extracts 😂

GAHgamel · 26/05/2022 14:43

Hmmm, BC picking up SH on assertions that AB's speech at Women's Place was part of her reasoning, when that didn't hppen until after her actions here. SH now trying to backtrack that it was a result of pre-publicity about AB going to the meeting

FacebookPhotos · 26/05/2022 14:43

Do they not have any responsibility to actually fact check before distancing themselves from Allison's LGB Alliance? Can they just take someone else's word for it being transphobic and say "reputational damage" as an excuse?

Mollyollydolly · 26/05/2022 14:43

'Reliable outlets' feck me .. ask Bindel or JK Rowling.

FacebookPhotos · 26/05/2022 14:44

Pink news is reliable apparently 😂

StrongOutspokenOftenIrritating · 26/05/2022 14:44

Bet MR has never seen a copy of pink news

WookeyHole · 26/05/2022 14:44

Ooh. SH claims to have done her own research incl. into a WPUK mtg following provided links and BH calling out the mtg hadn't yet taken place.

SH says either way, she did look at it quite carefully, and it was being repeated that GCC was anti trans and PN saying GCC did not speak for them.

They had a need to ensure no reputational damage by association with an organisation being called anti trans in reliable media.

GCC has no position on trans rights.

TheBiologyStupid · 26/05/2022 14:44

Reliable media outlets - that'll be Pink News then. (Punk News in a TT typo - LOL)

katmarie · 26/05/2022 14:45

the media said these guys were baaaaad. Instead of looking into it thoroughly and applying those immense legal brains to confirming the facts, they decided to believe the pink news of all news outlets, and kneejerk respond accordingly.

TofuDelights · 26/05/2022 14:45

Finally caught up again, thanks so much everyone.

MrsDrake · 26/05/2022 14:45

Do they genuinely not know that even the DM would be considered more reliable and mainstream than pink news?

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 14:45

SH evidence is confusing.

BC did you think LGBA was transphobic.

SH it was being reported by reliable media as transphobic group. Garden court has no position on trans rights issue.

Cut short by BC as not answering clearly.

Oh she's getting in a pickle now.

Artichokeleaves · 26/05/2022 14:45

Document from MN?

Has Justine been trying to help out with the bundle? Goodness knows someone needed to...

nauticant · 26/05/2022 14:45

I think that SH and others are right that GCC didn't have a common position on trans rights. What they had was the majority who didn't give a toss and a small group of zealots who steered how GCC operated in this area.

Roseglen84 · 26/05/2022 14:45

Oh the backpeddling and the waffle....she's terrible!
