She doesn't know what stonewall's slogans are. Not remotely credible that she has never heard the No Debate argument before.

Boiledbeetle · 26/05/2022 12:36

is she honestly trying to say she wasn't aware of the no debate use by stonewall??? come on!!

SenselessUbiquity · 26/05/2022 12:36

This is fascinating. I am so behind with work! I know I am just repeating myself, and everyone else, but it is blowing my mind to see these people forced to face the reality that what they thought they were doing - staying on the safe side - was wandering off the other side of a narrow rocky path and now they're tumbling. It's as if (hold tight for a tortured metaphor) fairness and justice is a narrow difficult rocky path between two dangerous cliffs, and one side is loudly and expensively sign-posted and anyone who falls off down that way is looking for danger; and the other side is managed by people who have so few resources they are basically ignored, and now the people proudest of their care for justice and fairness are finding they all fell off that side

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 26/05/2022 12:36

"'extremists' legitimises acts of terror"

Well women's meetings receive bomb threats from trans activists, venues are terrorised into cancelling, locations need to be kept secret, masked prtotestors turn up to intimidate us.....you were saying, MB???

Zeugma · 26/05/2022 12:36

Doesn’t know that 'no debate' is Stonewall's slogan. Why would she know this? Furrowed brow, concerned expression.

This faux-naivety is not convincing

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 12:36

MB: I don't know what Stonewall's slogans are. It has not bearing on what I do.

JemimaShore · 26/05/2022 12:36

She's denying "No Debate" now.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 12:36

AH - was it No Debate in 2018? 😂

TheClitterati · 26/05/2022 12:36

Brewers comments about GC feminism being "white feminism" and therefore disreputable makes me think of this image (Its re "Racist" maths but there are comparisions to be made).

SenselessUbiquity · 26/05/2022 12:36

FUCK I MUST DO SOME WORK

PrelateChuckles · 26/05/2022 12:36

Absolute bollocks.

She reckons she can remember a non-existent slogan by one person at Pride reported by 'Gay Star News' but has never come across Stonewall's 'No debate' slogan?!

I cannot bring myself to believe that.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 26/05/2022 12:37

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 12:32

MB: this was not a hot subject of discussion in chambers.

See also, Twitterstorm, reputational damage, etc

Didn’t she say five minutes ago that she didn’t know if it was being talked about?

IloveHolby · 26/05/2022 12:37

This is so frustrating! I've changed my settings and still black screen but showing me that I'm in as I can see the other names in the room.

Birdsweepsin · 26/05/2022 12:37

I. Have. Not. Finished

LipbalmOrKnickers · 26/05/2022 12:37

For the bingo card 'I'm sorry, but...'

She's not sorry. None of them are.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 12:37

Oooh, she's pointing now. I have not finished.

User237845 · 26/05/2022 12:37

Glad you are out the other side, @Penguintears MB is wriggly and waffly ooh and is now pointing her finger at BC. Red type personality. V used to being in control.

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 12:37

It's not a far stretch. Stonewall are a significant force in UK politics and they have seen - over and over - the abuse 'no debate' has generated. Stonewall call women sexual racists if they don't want to have sex with males. That is extremism.

GAHgamel · 26/05/2022 12:37

Does "complicit" require you to be an "active participant"?

Boiledbeetle · 26/05/2022 12:37

seriously love, after this you really need to look inward and think about how you think and look at the world. you may find you are seriously lacking in some fairly fundamental issues.

SidewaysOtter · 26/05/2022 12:37

I’m glad my mic is off otherwise proceedings would be drowned out by the sound of me banging my head on the table.

Pluvia · 26/05/2022 12:37

Her face is red, she's chugging the water, she keeps mentioning that she's a Mother, her voice is getting higher as well as louder. She's on the ropes.

MB denying any knowledge of 'no debate'. I don't believe a word of it. Stonewall people had her private number: SK phoned her on holiday.

This is the hill she's going to die on.

Pluvia · 26/05/2022 12:38

Her chambers was a Stonewall Champion ffs!

Mollyollydolly · 26/05/2022 12:38

They really hate Allison dont they?

PrelateChuckles · 26/05/2022 12:38

She admits "everyone else" would've found something benign that Allison found offensive (the SWDC membership)
So their views were assumed to differ. The whole chambers.
