Now on to reform of the GRA

Appalonia · 26/05/2022 09:28

In the film she would so be Suranne Jones!

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 26/05/2022 09:28

nauticant · 26/05/2022 09:27

BC is letting MB speak at much greater length than she needs to. I wonder what his strategy is.

The hope she'll drive EJG & the panel nuts & rob herself of all credibility?

Birdsweepsin · 26/05/2022 09:29

WinterTrees · 26/05/2022 09:27

I've been listening rather than watching for a bit, but going back to the screen MB looks considerably less composed already than she did 10 minutes ago.

I don't think anyone has ever challenged her on this before, ever.

awkwardoldlady · 26/05/2022 09:29

reform of GRA p6018

Again 'trans inclusionary' seems to only recognise the existence of TW not TM

MissPollysFitDolly · 26/05/2022 09:30

Zeugma · 26/05/2022 09:28

MB is talking far, far, far, far, far too much.

Much too much, and all those little 'um's and side comments 🙄

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 26/05/2022 09:30

MB in the 2018 training: refuges and rape crisis centres should include transwomen
diparaging reference to 'women who identify as feminists' who believe that these services should be female-only

CriticalCondition · 26/05/2022 09:30

I think she just knocked her water over. So will have to find something else to do.

Chrysanthemum5 · 26/05/2022 09:30

Oh MB you've said the unsayable - that biological sex is immutable

Birdsweepsin · 26/05/2022 09:30

Reductionist? What is she saying?

TheElementsSong · 26/05/2022 09:31

Sorry, it's my first morning actually listening in, but did I hear right that MB says spouses who don't want to stay in a marriage with a transitioned person are transphobic?

Appalonia · 26/05/2022 09:31

GC feminism is reductionist.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 09:31

MB does not regard gender critical women as feminists

Chrysanthemum5 · 26/05/2022 09:31

I wonder how your allies will take that?

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 09:31

BC: ‘You don’t regard women with gender critical beliefs as proper feminists, do you?’

MB says she thinks core GC beliefs are fine but she thinks the idea that GI is a construct is ‘reductionist’.

EJ asks her to repeat.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 26/05/2022 09:31

Yes she would!

YES!

FetchezLaVache · 26/05/2022 09:31

I hope BC is going to throw some sunlight on her other pet cause, that of TWs in the female prison estate.

WinterTrees · 26/05/2022 09:32

Her habit of trying to anticipate what BC is going to say and putting it to him as if she's two steps ahead is very, very annoying.

Shortpoet · 26/05/2022 09:32

“I think gender identity is a social construct is reductionist”

I don’t know what that means

PrelateChuckles · 26/05/2022 09:32

TheElementsSong · 26/05/2022 09:31

Yes, and homophobic - presumably she's erasing people in same-sex relationships in this statement, as it's the opposite - they might not want to be in a straight relationship.

nauticant · 26/05/2022 09:32

I assume BC's strategy will be to cast into sharp relief the contrast between how she is seeking to present herself at reasonable in this hearing and how, when she is speaking within her own tribe thinking herself not overheard, she can express herself in ways that are pretty toxic.

NancyDrawed · 26/05/2022 09:32

Appalonia · 26/05/2022 09:28

Yes!

CriticalCondition · 26/05/2022 09:33

EJ is not enamoured of this witness.

AlisonDonut · 26/05/2022 09:33

She is going to lose it in about 5 mins...already very testy...
