Its not plausible that they would not have heard of Helen Steel. The spy cops thing was re-emerging around then iirc. - There is also the keir starmer link

Also the McLibel case made legal history. I learned about it both in my A Level Law and a Law module I did with the OU.

yourhairiswinterfire · 25/05/2022 15:35

In her witness statement, Allison says she set her Twitter to private because of the abuse she was getting from TRAs, but GCC could still access her tweets.

(389) I had made my account private because of the abuse I was getting, as I had told Judy the previous evening. I had not encouraged anyone to send any
message to anyone at Garden Court. I had not shared their contact details.
As David was subsequently to point out, Garden Court had access to my
Twitter feed even though it was set to private, and Judy could have checked
to see that this assumption about me was false. She could have contacted
me to check whether I had done this. She did not do so.

Penguintears · 25/05/2022 15:35

JR's voice reminds me of Dolores Umbridge. Like a faked niceness.

awkwardoldlady · 25/05/2022 15:36

Anyone else cannot see the witness?

I couldn’t either, but I disconnected and went in again and it was working.

Boiledbeetle · 25/05/2022 15:36

Allison is so so I ill don't you know

MythicalReasonableTwitterUser · 25/05/2022 15:29

How are they going to make that extended and partially incorrect Twitter lesson interesting in the movie? I suggest depicting various characters' thoughts and daydreams while they drone on and on

I was thinking we could show the first few words in real time & speed up until the last few words, a few times. Subtitled precis & shots of comatose watchers optional.

That was worse than my ten year old child's blow by blow accounts of Minecraft building activities.

Good god come on man. Make a point or just slide off your chair and army crawl to freedom.

😂😂😂

Chrysanthemum5 · 25/05/2022 15:38

KC appears to be trying to come across as very kind and nice but I suspect she has had to be tough to advance in her career (one thing this case has shown is how misogynistic the legal world is)

nauticant · 25/05/2022 15:40

This section with Kathryn Cronin seems to be about detriment (v), inadequate responses to AB's subject access requests.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 25/05/2022 15:43

This pings are WhatsApps from Allison or her solicitor I think.

nauticant · 25/05/2022 15:43

This is looking interesting, suggesting that Simblet QC's response about the SAR might have been influenced by his googling and AB's crowdfunder.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 25/05/2022 15:44

Stephen Simblet sounds psychotic.

Pyjamagame · 25/05/2022 15:44

But no gossip about this in the Clerks' room?

nauticant · 25/05/2022 15:45

Simblet QC was complaining both about Mumsnet and RollonFriday. Who should be most flattered to be grouped with the other?

WallaceinAnderland · 25/05/2022 15:45

Shout out to Mumsnet

Chrysanthemum5 · 25/05/2022 15:46

SS sounds pretty unpleasant- clearly he's annoyed but his quibbling over a fee is such a legal trick

ickky · 25/05/2022 15:46

nauticant · 25/05/2022 15:45

Simblet QC was complaining both about Mumsnet and RollonFriday. Who should be most flattered to be grouped with the other?

Definitely RollonFriday. Mumsnet puffing out it's chest.
