I'm just getting a black screen with the message 'no one is presenting' I've cleared my cache and cookies but still no joy - what's next to try?!

Log out, then when you log in make sure your camera and audio is on. When you get in turn them off quickly

Bosky · 25/05/2022 10:17

100% unbelievable that he is claiming AB told a journalist, "All trans prisoners are rapists!"

Was that before or after she rang for a takeaway of Curried Kitten??

Ameanstreakamilewide · 25/05/2022 10:17

DR - She directs intemperate and sometimes and complete ott allegations of violence.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 25/05/2022 10:17

What absolute bullshit.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 25/05/2022 10:17

DR brings out the old chestnut: 'it's not about her beliefs - it's about her words and her conduct around these beliefs'

Read the OP instructions, make sure the video and mic on the first page are NOT crossed out.

The allegations of intimidation and extremism within the trans rights movement are NOT over the top. They are correct. Stonewall is on the record as calling lesbians sexual racists. That is extremism.

Mollyollydolly · 25/05/2022 10:18

Thank you Ickky - maybe he does have some sense of self reflection then. He's certainly far less angry and aggressive today.

I’ve dialled in as audio only.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 25/05/2022 10:18

I'm getting to the point that I want to march on Parliament with flaming torches. Not entirely what against yet.

Anyone with me?

What do we want?

Not sure. I just have a sinking feeling every time I listen to a certain type of expensively educated man.

When do we want it?

Yesterday.

Mmmnotsure · 25/05/2022 10:18

DR: none of this about beliefs. I do not object to her beliefs but her conduct and expression of the beliefs.
(Not sure how this squares with his comments re AB's apparent views - according to DR - about trans prisoners.)

LipbalmOrKnickers · 25/05/2022 10:19

Beginning to think that DR thought he would get off lightly today due to only being allotted half an hour. Easy to moderate yourself when there's a time limit.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 25/05/2022 10:19

JR objects, BC ignores. 😂

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 25/05/2022 10:19

Love that BC is just pushing on with his questions every time JR interjects now. For time I presume. No time for politeness now.

User237845 · 25/05/2022 10:19

I wonder what the clerks make of DR.

tabbycatstripy · 25/05/2022 10:19

BC finished with Renton.

No re-examination.

ickky · 25/05/2022 10:20

BC finished with DR. No cross from JR.

DDM to start after 5 min break.

OP posts:
StrongOutspokenOftenIrritating · 25/05/2022 10:20

He goes very mumbling when he’s lying

Ameanstreakamilewide · 25/05/2022 10:20

Nothing from IO/RW...surprise surprise.

Nothing from JR.

Break til 10:24.

Signalbox · 25/05/2022 10:20

"if Allison had X that would have been legitimate"

This is such paternalistic bullshit. I so hope the committee can see through it. DR's evidence is so dishonest.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 25/05/2022 10:20

Next witness:
David de Menezes - Director of Communications & Marketing at Garden Court Chambers (from 2015)
www.gardencourtchambers.co.uk/clerks-and-staff/david-de-menezes
Role in the case: My understanding is that DDM ran GCC’s Twitter account, and became aware of reaction on Twitter to AB’s tweet about LGB Alliance (the ‘Twitterstorm’); DDM/GCC put out a tweet stating that GCC have nothing to do with LGB Alliance, AND a tweet stating that GCC were investigating AB under their complaints procedure and Bar Standards Board procedures. DDM wrote to Heads of Chambers stating that AB’s views were at odds with GCC’s ‘human rights ethos’.
Bio:
“David is responsible for leading and delivering communications, marketing and event management for over 250 barristers and staff across 12 areas of law at London's largest chambers.
His role includes strategic leadership and direction for chambers’ marketing and communications, client event hospitality, promoting the highly respected Garden Court brand, curating web and news content, managing eight social media channels with 36K+ followers, award submissions and media engagement on high profile cases. We are top ranked by the legal directories and consistently win awards.
To find out more about David's work at Garden Court, check out our Twitter feed twitter.com/gardencourtlaw, news feed www.gardencourtchambers.co.uk/news and events www.gardencourtchambers.co.uk/events.

• BACKGROUND
David has worked in communications, marketing and PR for over 25 years, with a particular emphasis on services to the Bar and legal profession. Prior to joining Garden Court he worked as an independent communications consultant for Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors.
David has also worked in senior positions for top PR agencies and worked in-house managing communications for sectors spanning government, food and transport. He joined Garden Court Chambers in February 2015. Find out more on LinkedIn."

Good assumption there EJG - IO did indeed have no questions

And RMW not getting the pages right - come on RMW that's your main job!

I'm with you. Not sure what I'd like to achieve, but I'm pissed off enough to set fire to something frankly. And to top it off I just ate the baguette I bought for lunch.

This Does Not Bode Well.

tabbycatstripy · 25/05/2022 10:21

de Menezes next.

Background in marketing and PR and a politics degree from Leeds.

ickky · 25/05/2022 10:21

I really didn't like DR's woe is me/poor me demeanour. I don't know if it's just the way he looks or his half closed eyes.
