DR: "I may have confused it with another note"

How many notes has he been making?

drwitch · 25/05/2022 10:06

In the mid 90s I shared an office with some one who is now a famous contrarian (gets retweeted for lols quite a lot). - Their conversations were often painful to listen to but we either zoned out or went to the kitchen for coffee

theemperorhasnoclothes · 25/05/2022 10:06

I hope Ricky Gervais is watching this. The material will write itself.

He's very clever at just saying what they say and highlighting the utter absurdity.

CriticalCondition · 25/05/2022 10:06

He took a note immediately after this conversation because he's an employment lawyer and he's always saying to witnesses why didn't you take a note.
Indeed.

tabbycatstripy · 25/05/2022 10:07

‘OK, but he walked in when she was on the phone - he could have left.’

It’s his workplace, he should be able to use it. But her views on prisons would (in my opinion) win the support of 95% of the population and are entirely ordinary.

Zeugma · 25/05/2022 10:07

Is EJG taking everything down verbatim? She must be doing shorthand?

Gabcsika · 25/05/2022 10:07

DR says he can't remember which note it was.

EJ: What did you say? ANOTHER NOTE? /writes it down/

ZandathePanda · 25/05/2022 10:07

This is why boys should be educated at a mixed comprehensive rather than a private boys school.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 25/05/2022 10:07

I thought JR had fallen asleep then. Wouldn't have blamed her!

Appalonia · 25/05/2022 10:07

Outrageously hostile behaviour.

ickky · 25/05/2022 10:07

Did he just admit looking at social media?????

OP posts:
Ameanstreakamilewide · 25/05/2022 10:07

BC - You have told the Tribunal outrageously hostile behaviour and inventing facts about them which are not true.

PrelateChuckles · 25/05/2022 10:08

He's maintaining he didn't share the actual note with anyone but he sent an email 'characterising' her phone call to MB rather hyperbolically (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to copy the relevant sentence from his WS here but it involves AB supposedly 'insisting' things he seems to have understood her to say but which are very unlikely)

Chrysanthemum5 · 25/05/2022 10:08

I'm finding this really hard to watch

LipbalmOrKnickers · 25/05/2022 10:09

He did - to 'your supporters' on social media using the phrase 'reporting' with ref to Allison's convo.

BemoreBen · 25/05/2022 10:09

Thinking back to his "resisting Forstater" blog post where he misrepresented Maya's position, I think DR hears what he wants to hear, or hears it through a filter of his own strong feelings (in this case pissed off because he wanted some peace and quiet and Allison had the temerity to be already on the phone when he arrived) and thought AB said something different from what he said. He 100 % believes his position and testimony and as far as his concerned he is telling the entire truth.

User237845 · 25/05/2022 10:09

"that's an unfortunate thing to have gone through"

what? listening to a phone conversation you find distasteful. Compared with what Allison's been through. Careful, weasel, your privilege is showing.

Pyjamagame · 25/05/2022 10:09

"I'm an employment lawyer" "I always say to people 'why didn't you take a note'" "It was a private note for my own personal use"

Somewhat contradictory.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 25/05/2022 10:09

He was at university with Professor Alice Sullivan.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 25/05/2022 10:10

Sorry that was to @ickky

Pyjamagame · 25/05/2022 10:10

Maybe we should give him a wave?

PrelateChuckles · 25/05/2022 10:10

Who is the professor they are talking about? Missed the name

PrelateChuckles · 25/05/2022 10:10

Oh, cross posted. thanks

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 25/05/2022 10:10

Alice Sullivan. She's GC feminist

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/05/2022 10:11

Alice has got DR bang to rights!
