Can we ask the journalist?

theemperorhasnoclothes · 25/05/2022 09:49

Male privilege in action

WAH WAH WAH I had to listen into a women having opinions against my consent

Suck it up bitches, you have no right to single sex spaces, privacy, dignity or safety.

IloveHolby · 25/05/2022 09:49

theemperorhasnoclothes · 25/05/2022 09:48

Oh god the irony. DR doesn't like being forced to listen in to a conversation against his will (though presumably he could have left the room).

Yet he's super keen on forcing women in general and in prisons etc to be forced to accept male bodies in their toilets / changing rooms / sports / hospital words without their consent.

Absolutely!

User237845 · 25/05/2022 09:49

Someone has signed in as Hislop Ian. I mean I know it could be Barry from Cardiff but...

Pyjamagame · 25/05/2022 09:49

A 'Mr Cooper' for the Bingo card.

Lio · 25/05/2022 09:50

DR trying to describe the layout of the office. Obviously needs a diagram in parking thread spirit!

Mmmnotsure · 25/05/2022 09:50

DR: I didn't think my colleague should be saying this is a small room, v close to me. She was forcing me to be there while she said this.

He is absolutely definite what about what she said - when DR asked her about it later on she said it again.

Now arguing about the size of the room and if DR can reach both his and AB's desks at the same time...

Signalbox · 25/05/2022 09:50

Typical TRA misrepresenting what has been said.

Madcats · 25/05/2022 09:51

Bits of Twitter erupted after 100's retweeted Tribunal Tweets...then Martina N. Those with access, can you tell how many are logged in this morning?

This is massive publicity for GCC, but not in a good way. The saner barristers must be absolutely furious. Poor poor AB.

Thank you to all listeners/summarisers.

WomensLandArmy · 25/05/2022 09:51

Hurrah, I'm in.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 25/05/2022 09:52

I can't believe for a moment that AB (or any GC women) would say that. In fact I can well imagine us refuting that with 'I'm not for a moment saying all trans prisoners are rapists.'

To DR I suspect it would be reasonable to trim that to 'all trans prisoners are rapists.'

Ameanstreakamilewide · 25/05/2022 09:52

EJG is very conscious of the time and wants BC to hurry up.

PrelateChuckles · 25/05/2022 09:52

EJ pointing out that the relevant point is whether there was a commonly held view in Chambers that AB was a bigot etc and the fact that DR believed her to be discourteous/ had hostility about AB being on the phone and/or about her views.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 25/05/2022 09:53

EJG - "Clearly a hostility about a lack of courtesy"

Rightsraptor · 25/05/2022 09:53

Welcome, @WomensLandArmy . Hope you've got some support sustenance.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 25/05/2022 09:53

DR - I didn't want to hear it because i'd just finished a big case and was tired.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 25/05/2022 09:53

"She was making me hear them"

He sounds like a wounded child.

nauticant · 25/05/2022 09:54

I'd estimate it as around 200 at the moment Madcats, although I'd expect that to rise as we get more into the day.

User237845 · 25/05/2022 09:54

She made me do it. She was making me hear her conversation. My god he sees women as sub-human doesn't he?

tabbycatstripy · 25/05/2022 09:54

Obviously DR would accept other political views, but he didn’t want to hear AB’s political views because of the nature of those views.

So yes, he objected to her views, not just to her level of courtesy in taking any call.

ickky · 25/05/2022 09:54

I think there are around 250 in the room I am in, but there are 2 rooms.

OP posts:
LipbalmOrKnickers · 25/05/2022 09:54

She made me hear it! Waaaah!

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 25/05/2022 09:54

He's getting indignant again. What a plum.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 25/05/2022 09:54

He really does take the view that everything a woman does is about him, doesn’t he. Me. Me. Me.

PrelateChuckles · 25/05/2022 09:54

I don't quite understand why DR is pushing the point that he didn't want to have to hear the phone call and he thought AB discourteous to take it in the room. Surely it's the content and/or how he mis/understood it that is relevant?
