What is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day is Amazon's annual members-only shopping event.

During the sale, Prime members get access to exclusive discounts on thousands of products, including bestselling brands and Amazon's own devices. While Prime Day originally lasted just 24 hours, it has grown into one of the biggest online shopping events in the UK, with savings available across almost every category.

Historically, Prime Day has offered some of the year's lowest prices on Amazon devices, headphones, air fryers, vacuum cleaners, beauty tools, smart home gadgets and family essentials.

When is Prime Day 2026?

In previous years we've seen Prime Day land in early July but for 2026, it's arriving early. Amazon Prime Day 2026 will run from 23rd to 26th June 2026.

The four day event starts at midnight on the 23rd and will finish at 11.59pm on the 26th, giving shoppers more time than ever to take advantage of the biggest discounts.

Amazon is also expected to release additional Lightning Deals and limited-time offers throughout the event, so prices may change regularly.

Do you need Prime membership to shop Prime Day deals?

Yes. Most Prime Day deals are only available to Amazon Prime members. If you're not already a subscriber, Amazon usually offers a free trial period for eligible customers, allowing you to access Prime Day discounts without paying for a full membership.

Prime membership also includes benefits such as:

  • Free next-day delivery

  • Prime Video

  • Prime Music

  • Prime Reading

  • Exclusive member-only offers

Here’s our guide on cancelling Amazon Prime in case you decide it's not for you.

How to find the best Prime Day Deals

Besides coming right here to Mumsnet? Prime Day can be overwhelming, there's no doubt about it - especially as there's thousands of products on sale at once.

So, to make sure you're getting a genuine bargain, there are a few steps you can take.

  1. Make a wish list before Prime Day starts: know what you're planning to buy before browsing.

  2. Compare prices elsewhere: many retailers run competing sales during Prime Day.

  3. Check price history: not every Prime Day discount is the lowest price a product has ever been (we use tools like CamelCamelCamel and our own internal deals tracker to check this at HQ).

  4. Watch Lightning Deals: some of the biggest discounts only last a few hours.

  5. Focus on products you've already researched: a discount is only a good deal if it's something you actually need.

Prime Day has become one of the biggest retail events of the year for bargain hunters

Is Prime Day worth it?

Prime Day can offer excellent value, particularly on Amazon devices, technology, household appliances and beauty tools. However, it's worth comparing prices before purchasing to make sure you're getting a good discount.

Are Prime Day deals cheaper than Black Friday?

Some products - particularly Amazon devices - can be cheaper during Prime Day than Black Friday. Likely because they are Amazon products sold during an Amazon-specific retail event. However, both events do typically feature strong discounts across similar categories.

What are the best things to buy during Prime Day?

Historically, the strongest Prime Day deals tend to be:

How often does Prime Day happen?

Prime Day is an annual event. Amazon has occasionally introduced additional promotional events throughout the year - like October's Prime Big Deal Days - but Prime Day remains its flagship summer sale.

What are the best Prime Day deals this year?

The best Prime Day deals typically include discounts on Kindle devices, Fire TV Sticks, Ninja air fryers and appliances, Shark vacuums, Apple AirPods, Samsung TVs and beauty tools like the Shark FlexStyle and Philips Lumea IPL.

What are the Prime Day deals actually worth buying?

With thousands of discounts available during Amazon Prime Day, it can be difficult to separate the genuine bargains from the products that simply look like good deals.

In our experience, the best Prime Day savings are usually found on established brands and products that are already highly rated by shoppers. Categories that often see some of the biggest discounts include air fryers, vacuum cleaners, baby monitors, wearable breast pumps, Amazon devices and beauty tech.

Rather than focusing on the biggest percentage discounts, we look for products that combine a strong saving with excellent performance and real-world value. That's why you'll find plenty of Mumsnet Tested products featured throughout this guide.

Prime Day deals that are often worth waiting for

Why shop Prime Day with Mumsnet?

It can be quite the chore to search through a retailer as extensive as Amazon to find the best deals and hidden gems. So our team of experts will be working hard, thoroughly researching the best Prime Day deals, and only showcasing the top discounts on this page.

Using our deal-hunting expertise, trusty Mumsnetter recommendations, and exclusive access to early deal previews we're able to focus on genuine savings on quality items including air fryers, vacuum cleaners, baby monitors and cabin-approved strollers.

Whether you're looking for an air fryer, vacuum cleaner, baby monitor or cabin-approved stroller, our aim is to help you shop smarter and spend with confidence.

How we verify Prime Day deals at Mumsnet

Not every Prime Day discount is as good as it looks. Before featuring a deal on this page, our team checks the current Amazon price against previous pricing data to see whether it represents a genuine saving.

Where possible, we also compare prices with other major retailers and look at how frequently a product is discounted throughout the year. This helps us identify standout offers and avoid deals that aren't as competitive as they first appear.

We prioritise products from trusted brands, items recommended by Mumsnet users and products we've independently tested through our Mumsnet Tested reviews programme.

Because Prime Day deals can change quickly, we'll be updating this page regularly throughout the event to bring you the latest offers and biggest savings.

💙 Why you can trust our Prime Day recommendations

Our deals experts at MNHQ track prices throughout the year and monitor major shopping events like Prime Day, Black Friday and Boxing Day sales. We check historic pricing where possible and only highlight deals that represent genuine savings or exceptional value for our Mumsnet users. Transparency is important to us, so if we feature a deal, it's because we believe it's worth considering.
