Afternoon, very mundane but if you have a cordless vacuum cleaner please could you recommend it to me and why you love it?! I'm just researching which one to buy before prime day arrives in a few days... many thanks in advance!

I’m happy with my Dyson. I don’t use it to properly vacuum the carpets, I use it for a quick going over of carpets, but more for hard floors, inside of the car, and cobwebs

Hi, hope all good, the best one i have used is dyson v16, as it delivers the strongest suction, anti tangle and also got wet cleaning.

Thanks, which model did you get? Such a big range!

Also can try Daewoo Cyclone Freedom Pro, strong suction for hard floors and general home cleaning, its light in weight, one of my friend is using, or VYTRONIX 3‑in‑1 Cordless Vacuum, light weight, quick cleans, sofas n cars.

I've got a shark and have had various Dysons. I do find the most recent dyson is quite heavy and bulky on the battery bit I would rate Dyson over shark

One thing about them all is that the cleaning of the vac is an absolute bug bear of mine! Such a fiddly job.

NewAgain26 · 01/10/2026 14:45

I've got a Shark DuoClean power fin and think its great.

So much easier than my old upright Dyson (it was just too powerful it was too hard work to push on the carpets)

Battery lasts to do the full house if I'm having a quick whip round - but for the thorough cleaning I do the upstairs and downstairs with a charge in between. (Large 3 bed house)

Shark is actually really good as well.

We have a Shark and it is brilliant at hoovering, the battery life is great ... but bits just keep breaking. The long attachment has been replaced twice so now we just can't don't fold it. This is the second carpet attachment as the first broke, and DH spent this morning trying to get the lights to work ended up soldering some wires. There's something else that's not original on it too.

Thebutterflyslovemybush · 01/10/2026 14:51

I've had a Hoover HFX for a number of years now and its great. It's not got a massive capacity so it depends how much you're actually doing. I only have a small place but mostly carpets and it does fine

I posted the same thing a few days ago and the Henry cordless was the most recommended.

Doubletroubledoubled · 01/10/2026 15:05

After an awful experience with a Shark which dropped more bits than it picked up and weighed a ton I went cheap and cheerful and bought 2 - one for upstairs and one for down
Upstairs I’ve got a Samsung Jet 60 lightweight turbo and downstairs a Bosch Unlimited 6 BBS611GB 18V Cordless
I have no complaints about either and would never buy an expensive vacuum cleaner again

Do you have a favourite of those 2 (I wont tell 🤣)

I love my GTech Air Ram. I also have a Dyson Stick which is handy for getting into corners but, like any Dyson product I've ever had, it's overrated, overpriced and not very user-friendly.

Middlemarch123 · 01/10/2026 15:29

Have you looked at the Henry Hetty Quick cordless stick on Amazon @Kittensandmitten ? I’m seriously tempted … love my Henry, but he’s heavy and I struggle with him on the stairs. I might treat myself to a Pink Hetty stick. Battery lasts an hour according to info.

winnieanddaisy · 01/10/2026 16:00

We have a shark one for our hard floors and it also mops them .

mybiggreenfrog · 01/10/2026 16:01

Shark

hamsterchump · 01/10/2026 16:21

I have a Dyson V6 or V8 I think, I got it for free on facebook marketplace. It's great, I never use my corded Dyson now. It seems so much easier to vacuum without the cord.

I can do the upstairs or downstairs on a charge so do them on different days which suits me but obviously mine is secondhand so the battery life is reduced a bit, looking at release dates it must be quite old. I expect when it was new it would've done the whole house and I do vacuum the sofa completely every week too.

I wouldn't want to go back to a corded vacuum now, it's great for the car too.

I have just looked at them since this thread, just cant seem to see if they have different heads for stairs, down sofa cracks etc

Look on the Hughes website @Kittensandmitten , says it has accessories included for hard to reach areas. Agree it’s a bit vague on the Amazon site.

The Bosch on the basis it’s the sturdier of the two and you charge the battery on the stick.
The Samsung weighs slightly less and you take the battery off to charge but I find it’s the easier of the two to empty. That said, the Bosch is by no means difficult once you know how. In terms of charge there is nothing between them and I can do my whole, admittedly small house with charge left over
All my previous cleaners have had dust bags and I had no idea how much they picked up each clean until the bag was emptied - I don’t mind admitting that I was horrified when I saw how much these cordless cleaners picked up even after a quick once over and all the more so if you use the turbo
Both cleaners are a pleasure to use and are light enough to use on my stairs without using any of the tools they come with.
The only negative is that hair does get wrapped round the roller but in both of them it is not difficult to remove.
