Two things that pretty much guarantee a deletion:

  1. The 3 letter acronym that can be a motivation for some men to transition, which is at odds with the 'innate gender identity' narrative
  2. Suggesting that there could be any kind of coordinated approach to attacks on child safeguarding

Always zapped within minutes, thanks to targeted reports from external non-MN users who circle the board like sharks scenting blood. They add nothing to the MN user experience, they hate what MN stands for, yet they know how to game the system and activate the mods on their behalf.

Why is it so imperative to those external monitors that any suggestion of certain motives be deleted instantly? 🤔

We're famous! <curtseys>

And thank you to @EmbarrassingHadrosaurus for re-linking to the IT thread which is up there (well, not there) with the Hedgehog Bum Sex thread.

However, I can't believe we've had this many pages about biscuits and no-one has mentioned Lotus biscuits? Shock

I'm fairly sure someone I used to be friends with is one of them. He spends a LOT of time ranting angrily on the internet at anyone who doesn't share his views, is such a left-wing extremist he makes LOJ sound reasonable and thinks all MNers are "evil terfs"

<waves to the monitors>

Honestly MNHQ really need to have a hard look at themselves.

When you're banning someone as knowledgeable about safeguarding as LangCleg and responding to people complaining about posts about safeguarding by deleting them it's not a good look.

Let's not let the women talk about keeping kids safe just in case the men feel bad!

It's Mumsnet ffs.

theemperorhasnoclothes · 30/05/2022 17:35

If what we're talking about is wrong, come on and explain why, with evidence.

That's free debate.

Deletions just make it look like we're right

Pie is too carby for me unfortunately - even worse than biscuits. Sad

up there (well, not there) with the Hedgehog Bum Sex thread.

Complete with poetry (but the whole thread is worth a read if you long for levity and an insight into life as it is lived in some hedgerows):

For all the Ben Cooper fans, he will next be starring in the Prof Jo Phoenix vs The Open University Employment Tribunal, date to be confirmed.

Much like Kathleen Stock, she was hounded out of her job.

Prof Jo also has a Crowdfunder if you are so inclined.

Hoorah!!!

<cheers>

Pfft pfftpft pffft.

Blghhhhhhhh

There are some things i don't need to try to know that this would be my reaction . . .

incest . . . licking draincovers . . . drinking fishtank water . . .

and dunking Bourbons and Custard Creams can be added to that list

This.

Stuff gets deleted for the least of reasons, presumably because someone doesn't like truth being spoken.

99/100 there is nothing rude or offensive in the post - it has merely refused to comply with compelled speech or called out an untruth.

ThinkWittyThoughts · 30/05/2022 20:41

I feel I should clarify - please don't dunk bourbons AND custard creams into the same cup of tea.

I prefer the M&S ones (they have different flavours).

Late to the party but one of the benefits of European travel is access to the black cherry/white chocolate Pim Lu, our Jaffa Cake’s exotic European relative.

Righto. Back to lurking on these threads, trailing days behind the leading pack, and keeping my fingers crossed for Allison.

I've found a tweet just for you SidewaysOtter - although I do fear it may offend Confused as it does place some doubt on your actual existence...

Link to tweet

"I tell people I don't believe in otters, and that they are just wet cats. Has become legend. Went to a zoo once; was dragged to the otter mound to have their existence proven. No otters. Vindicated."

Dunking Bourbon biscuits into tea is up there with WBH.

SidewaysOtter · 30/05/2022 22:38

@GrumpyMenopausalWombWielder

A wet cat indeed! I'll have you know that we otters are a noble creature with advanced swimming skills that makes us far more elegant than your average moggy. Did I mention that we build our own homes? <huffs>

SidewaysOtter · 30/05/2022 22:40

Oh, and can I just point out that nothing, but nothing should be dunked in any hot drink, least of all tea (all that tanniny horribleness with the abomination that is milk). Just think of all those soggy crumbs!

What?????? You've never licked a draincover?

shakes head in bewilderment!

Wanders off to the back yard to carry out my nightly hour of worship to the drain god.

It plays havoc on the knees mind!

This was the thread where we were talking about jaffa cakes earlier, wasn't it?
A former Bake-Off winner has broken the record for the world's largest jaffa cake.
And to make this message vaguely back on topic, I've decided it was time for a name-change, and so have picked one inspired by the case.

TheBiologyStupid · 30/05/2022 23:14

This was the thread where we were talking about jaffa cakes earlier, wasn't it?
It was. "Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn makes giant Jaffa Cake" www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-61638168

How BIG?!

IcakethereforeIam · 30/05/2022 23:16

Do m&s still sell rectangular jaffa cakes.

Autocorrect wanted to go with rectal Blush
