Quite. And as J. K. Rowling pointed out, single sex spaces suddenly assume a much greater significance when asking to maintain them is met by numerous threats of rape and violence.

YY.

Shortpoet · 26/05/2022 10:52

IO earning her fee. Must be currently at about £10k a word

Boiledbeetle · 26/05/2022 10:54

Michelle Brewer is a Tribunal Judge in the Immigration Chamber - she will be judging Immigration and Asylum cases, not ordinary criminal cases. This may account for her being sympathetic to, for example, transwomen asylum seekers.

beggars the question, how many asylum seekers only feel safe to embrace their gender ideology after they have taken legal advice?

Eelicks · 26/05/2022 10:54

I can't believe she's denying the TRWG was about trying to generate work... being a lawyer is ALL about generating work and making money!!!

GAHgamel · 26/05/2022 10:54

Boiledbeetle · 26/05/2022 10:37

@tabbycatstripy to give you the whole visual, she came through with the mop bucket to go upstairs, stopped to tell me she wasn't going to stick the music on today and got as far as the back of my chair. and then the eyes widened, the jaw dropped and she started shaking her head.

What was the specific bit that gobsmacked her @Boiledbeetle ?

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 10:54

BC making the argument that the TRWG was important.

MB is saying that's out of context and they weren't operating as a consolidated group.

Says there were 23 people in the TRWG.

Boiledbeetle · 26/05/2022 10:54

begs the question!

Mmmnotsure · 26/05/2022 10:54

About 23 people in the TRWG

TheBiologyStupid · 26/05/2022 10:55

BC: TRWG alive and well.

MB: Waffles pointlessly despite Ben reading her own words.

Clymene · 26/05/2022 10:55

It's beggars the question what is the point of the TRWG if it wasn't to generate work

Clymene · 26/05/2022 10:55

Begs the question, even.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 26/05/2022 10:55

MB is one of the most hostile and vehement people I've ever heard speak

She is so suckered in it is terrifying that she is a judge? She can't even figure out why women might be wary of men who say they are women.

Indeed. I can't imagine working with her. I can't imagine her making good judgments for women as a judge, she's blinded by a sickening misogyny.

awkwardoldlady · 26/05/2022 10:55

[disingenuous blather] First of all you have to understand that what I say depends very much on who I'm talking to and the appearance of the thing was more important than the reality or substance of the thing.

nauticant · 26/05/2022 10:56

MB claiming that this section of her pre-complaint about AB was talking about individual barristers. That is bollocks.

tabbycatstripy · 26/05/2022 10:57

MB talking about some of the trans rights work she has done and what she was explaining about that in her email about the TRWG. She wasn't making the TRWG itself out to be a hub of expertise (paraphrasing).

Birdsweepsin · 26/05/2022 10:57

It's all Michellesplaining isn't it?

BenCooperisaGod · 26/05/2022 10:58

Blah blah blah waffle waffle waffle, blah.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 10:58

Mr Cooper if I wanted to say her tweets were transphobic I would say it. I didn't say it.

Btw I don't have have twitter

Boiledbeetle · 26/05/2022 10:58

@GAHgamel hard to remember as she was on a transphobic rant so hard to pin point. around the self id questionnaire prisoner thingy is unreliable period I think. but don't make me testify to that in court.

BenCooperisaGod · 26/05/2022 10:58

Arse. Have to go into meetings now. Ciao.

Signalbox · 26/05/2022 10:59

Allison's tweets compromised the message that we GGC is a "safe space".

TheBiologyStupid · 26/05/2022 10:59

Morgan Paige tweet - lesbian knickers bingo call imminent?!

LipbalmOrKnickers · 26/05/2022 10:59

MB : The Morgan Page tweet would have done more than offend.

What else could it have possibly done? It was some words.

Gabcsika · 26/05/2022 10:59

We're getting close to cotton ceiling tweet.

Get your popcorn ready.

WallaceinAnderland · 26/05/2022 10:59

ABs tweets compromised chambers as a safe space.

Oh the irony
