NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #9

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on Thursday 6 February.

I suspect she's letting him talk, so everyone can see it makes no sense

The basis is that he says so. That's it.

He consistently objects to what he sees as her assumptions, and he consistently makes assumptions about her.

The more I've listened to this today the more I'm beginning to think that SP's line manager's (ED?) and her employer's failures to deal properly with SP's original raising of Dr U's use of the female only changing rooms is the real problem.

SP was let down by them not doing anything to support SP and to leave SP to raise the issue directly with Dr U himself

SP should not have been left in that position

I really feel for SP

As an aside his wife has excellent bladder control she never seems to need the comfort breaks.
