Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on Thursday 6 February.

Access to view the hearing remotely can be obtained by sending an email request to [email protected] headed Public Access Request (Peggie v Fife Health Board) 4104864/2024 and requesting access.

NC If two people are going to make babies together...

SidewaysOtter · 10/02/2025 14:48

Operation Let Them Speak sometimes does produce spectacular results, doesn't it?

ArabellaScott · 10/02/2025 14:48

NC - if two people are going to make babies togehter, one needs to have a body that produces sperm and the other to have a body hta tmakes eggs. Do you agree?

mb2512cat · 10/02/2025 14:48

“there’s no agreed definition of biological sex” says a U.K. qualified medical doctor who has already said he’s a biological woman 🤯

NoBinturongsHereMate · 10/02/2025 14:48

So biological makeup is important in medicine, but biological sex is a nebulous dogwhistle. OK. Got it.

Appalonia · 10/02/2025 14:48

Now on to how do we make babies!

CheekySnake · 10/02/2025 14:48

surrogacy ding ding ding

DU A female only space is not a cis woman only space. Otherwise wed call it a cis women only space.

And if it was for transwomen we'd call it a transwoman space...

ickky · 10/02/2025 14:48

If a mummy loves a daddy very much......😂

Do we really need to go to this level.

Signalbox · 10/02/2025 14:49

.

fanOfBen · 10/02/2025 14:49

I don't think NC is going to get far arguing biological sex with a medically qualified TRA. I hope she has a plan.

themostspecialelfintheworkshop · 10/02/2025 14:49

HOW DO YOU DETERMINE WHICH TYPE OF 3rd PERSON YOU NEED?

NoBinturongsHereMate · 10/02/2025 14:49

Oh dear gods - he's now denying that you need a man and a woman to make a baby!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/02/2025 14:49

TRAs tend to think these lines of argument are extremely clever. Most people disagree.

Boiledbeetle · 10/02/2025 14:49

DU might need a third person

CarefulN0w · 10/02/2025 14:49

Defining how people produce babies indeed! Melt.

Appalonia · 10/02/2025 14:49

Oh God oh God this is insane!

themostspecialelfintheworkshop · 10/02/2025 14:49

Fucks sake the MANSPLAINING

WhatIsCorndogs · 10/02/2025 14:49

Watching him try to reason his way out of sexual reproduction is honestly making me want to smash my laptop screen

EasternStandard · 10/02/2025 14:49

Fuck sake

Ridiculous

ArabellaScott · 10/02/2025 14:49

BU - not necessarily. Depends how you define making babies. They may require a donor or a surrogate. Mitochoondrial transplatns. You still say parents are parents but ... yes, for human fertilisation require sperm and egg cells.

NC - you get sperm from one kind of body, eggs from the ohter. Only two kidns of bodies.

BU - those are the two cells, but not only two. Lots of different kinds of bodies .Biology much more complicated than a stick figure with a skirt and a stick figure with trousers.

ghostofadog · 10/02/2025 14:49

NC - You need male and female to make a baby, yes?
BU - NOT NECESSARILY
😂😂
