NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #9

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on Thursday 6 February.

I’ve followed this trial solely from this thread, thank you so much @nauticant for keeping it all rolling, and all other contributors.

I think it may be that a cis woman could be either biological or a robot but must have a gender identity the same as the one that the doctor picked at birth (using a coin). Whereas a biological female cannot be a robot and may or may not identify with her coin-flip sex record.

This may be a simplification because I don't doubt that once robots are well-enough embedded in our society we will have cis robots (assigned non-biological at the point where they left the factory) and trans robots (wrongly assigned as biological at birth)

Is this what Dr Upton is relying on? If you feel it, you are it.

I can imagine that even if DU wasn't claiming to be a woman he would be intolerable to work with.
