I can't say what my degree is in because it's too outing but plenty of people in the boat race do MPhils in it so they can stay on and row so many would say it's barely a degree at all.

I submit that they would be wrong.

Who knew that women could be intelligent eh?

Whenever I called alumni to ask for donations, if they said they'd rowed a lot I used to reply, "ah... and did you read Land Economy?". I was often correct. But not necessarily the boat race rowers. Didn't call many of them.

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 12:47

He was annoyed, because she had accused a privileged white male of wanting to cement male privilege. How dare she.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 24/05/2022 12:47

Shush shush!! I'll have to name change GrinGrinGrin

chilling19 · 24/05/2022 12:48

'Not the way to conduct yourself'

TW is showing real hostility here.

Allison, you really are a warrior.

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 12:48

Sorry: white male Oxbridge privilege. Not reasonable at all, no.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 24/05/2022 12:49

All these stupid women who don't bother to read his emails to be educated eh? It must be so hard for him to be surrounded by such imbeciles.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 24/05/2022 12:49

BC - AB was being slapped down by you because you knew she was out of favour?

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 24/05/2022 12:49

this is not the way to conduct yourself

Great mansplanation, Tom Wainwright, we can all see you're a model of decorum, rectitude and professionalism and all round expert in how to conduct yourself without making everyone who meets you want to punch your face within fifteeen seconds of being introduced.

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 12:49

He very nearly said, ‘She was being slapped down because...’

chilling19 · 24/05/2022 12:49

'Friend' bingo!

ickky · 24/05/2022 12:49

Allison's friend as well.

OP posts:
Signalbox · 24/05/2022 12:50

So many friends and so much vitriol.

FingonTheValiant · 24/05/2022 12:50

"I regarded her as a friend".

I think I like him less than DR, just because of the aggression. I find it really uncomfortable.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 24/05/2022 12:50

Gosh, what an angry little man he is.

chilling19 · 24/05/2022 12:50

The anguished squeal of an aggrieved male writ large.

SidewaysOtter · 24/05/2022 12:50

“Allison was my friend”.

DRINK!! HOUSE!!

Baystard · 24/05/2022 12:50

Nasty piece of work. Ben is giving him plenty of rope 😚

Appalonia · 24/05/2022 12:50

Accuses Allison of looking for conspiracy theories! He's livid.

dworky · 24/05/2022 12:50

Too dense to realise he's providing a perfect example of the hostility Allison was subjected to.

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 12:50

DRINK!! 😂

Clymene · 24/05/2022 12:50

He sent that email because this is not the way to conduct yourself. How fucking dare he

TopKnotch · 24/05/2022 12:50

Oh my gosh.

Is he arguing that there was no hostile environment for AB?

His contempt when he talks about her.

AB, we are all here. We all see it. We are all grateful to you and in awe of your strength.

CriticalCondition · 24/05/2022 12:51

Crikey, don't hold back on your anger Mr Wainwright.

Signalbox · 24/05/2022 12:51

He's got a Freddy bum lip now. He's like a petulant child.

Pyjamagame · 24/05/2022 12:51

Very angry man. Who was the other witness who was almost threatening Ben?
