Are we on a countdown to a football reference??

TheBiologyStupid · 24/05/2022 12:35

Footie or Mariah Carey? Neither, apparently...

Penguintears · 24/05/2022 12:36

No gossip in Chambers. Chambers didn't have a position on trans rights.

nauticant · 24/05/2022 12:36

This witness is rather helpful to AB's case. No smoking gun piece of evidence but a clear lack of candour to cover up his clear prejudice against AB.

Appalonia · 24/05/2022 12:36

Another one denying there was ever any gossip...

Ameanstreakamilewide · 24/05/2022 12:36

BC - a lot of chat and gossip goes on in Chambers, isn't there?

TW (a very brusque) No.

Beowulfa · 24/05/2022 12:36

What a fucking awful time it is to be a lesbian.

And yet these witnesses would squawk in pink-faced indignation if you dared suggest they were being homophobic.

It can't be long now.

Clymene · 24/05/2022 12:37

No gossip in chambers, doesn't work with Michelle professionally but sends her a message saying 'welcome back!!!'

Pull the other one Tom

CriticalCondition · 24/05/2022 12:37

DH just came in, watched ToW for 10 seconds and said ''God, he's a slug, isn't he'. DH knows broadly what this is about but not the ins and outs. But he knows a slimy creep when he sees one.

Redshoeblueshoe · 24/05/2022 12:37

Well I have clearly touched a nerve
Just got a 12 hour Twitter ban

VestofAbsurdity · 24/05/2022 12:38

Reading this thread and the Tribunal Tweets I've got the impression some of the witnesses are a whisker away from doing a Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men.

NecessaryScene · 24/05/2022 12:38

I use mine professionally but I drop the Cantab

Hang on, I'm picking up the implication here that Mums on Mumsnet might actually have Oxbridge degrees.

Sounds rather implausible. Are you a sock?

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 12:38

He just said he wanted to defend his Chambers and set out their view. Now he’s saying Chambers had no view as far as he was concerned. He is a messy witness.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 24/05/2022 12:39

Ooh, what was your misdemeanour, Red??

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/05/2022 12:39

Her starting point seems to be trans women are women. She is not remotely disinterested.

It's a position of faith. There's nothing rational about it.

Penguintears · 24/05/2022 12:40

Absolutely hostility to AB. Just the curl of his lip when he refers to her is unmistakable.

ickky · 24/05/2022 12:40

Did you make the rookie mistake of stating a well know fact?

his answers are so aggressive, surely given the job he does he should be able to be a bit more measured?

I can't say what my degree is in because it's too outing but plenty of people in the boat race do MPhils in it so they can stay on and row so many would say it's barely a degree at all.

I submit that they would be wrong.

Who knew that women could be intelligent eh?

FingonTheValiant · 24/05/2022 12:41

The football thing is so cringe. Like they condescend to talk to the clerks about something they can understand. I feel like the implied flipside is that amongst barrister they chat about the boat race and the Varsity Match. At least CMG was refreshing with chat about the rugby. Context was bloody horrifying though.

VestofAbsurdity · 24/05/2022 12:41

Well they are homophobic, misogynist and clearly believe that human rights are not for everyone just a select few of their own determination.

Artichokeleaves · 24/05/2022 12:42

The overt prejudice is boggling. And not just in one of them, but witness after witness after witness.

chilling19 · 24/05/2022 12:42

Just tuned back in - we have rugby now?

Penguintears · 24/05/2022 12:43

Urgh. He uses "myself" instead of "me" as well.
