When joining the live tribunal please choose a non inflammatory/offensive name, everyone can see it in the chat - This is a court room, please behave accordingly.

The court chat function is there for official court purposes, not for observers, please don't use it unless you have a technical issue.

She basically is unable to put her beliefs aside to even see how the workshop was lesbophobic.

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 10:40

I bet AH sees the time.

IloveHolby · 24/05/2022 10:40

Just logging on today and catching up. Is CM another GCC barrister?

Head in sand over the coercion aspect of cotton ceiling workshop.

Signalbox · 24/05/2022 10:40

Again comparing to racial integration.

Penguintears · 24/05/2022 10:40

I have to go into a meeting soon 😩

Signalbox · 24/05/2022 10:40

How are so many people so captured by this bloody ideology. It's scary.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 24/05/2022 10:41

@ifIwerenotanandroid PPT published this statement about it after it took place:
www.facebook.com/PPToronto/posts/in-january-of-2012-planned-parenthood-toronto-in-partnership-with-other-local-pr/10150615471958021/

Ameanstreakamilewide · 24/05/2022 10:41

She's just as bloody bad, Tasteful.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 24/05/2022 10:41

'One of the most insidious things about this movement is its pretence towards objectivity.'

Couldn't agree more tabby. 👏

Birdsweepsin · 24/05/2022 10:41

Clymene · 24/05/2022 10:39

She is Dolores Umbridge

I spotted Amelia Susan Bones in the list of observers...

CuntAmongstThePigeons · 24/05/2022 10:41

5 min break. Which is handy because I am FUMING after that. She was outrageous. Oh and we still don't have the witness statement. Back at 45.

Scorched · 24/05/2022 10:41

Racism has nothing to to with this case. They are continually try to blur the arguments and remove meaning from words

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 10:41

I thought this was going to be potentially damaging but I think she strengthened AB’s case immeasurably. Of course it is legitimate comment.

CM just showed everyone the progressive face of homophobia.

Manicsfan · 24/05/2022 10:42

As a slight tangent, when you were kids, did anyone else's parent exclaim "knickers!" instead of swearing?
My mum did. All this knickers chat is taking me right back!

FacebookPhotos · 24/05/2022 10:43

I quite liked this witness at first - she seems straight forward and clear. But comparing lesbianism to racism is fucking homophobia. Anyone who refuses to accept that lesbians are same-sex attracted can fuck right off.

(PS, sorry for the swearing - I am raging and at work so can't swear too much here).

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 24/05/2022 10:43

AH did not look happy there at the end before the break. He was properly aghast, I thought. It made me feel slightly better.

And particularly when the claimant is black.

It's vile

I was told that knickers is "common" and we had to say pants. I also wasn't allowed to say fart and had to say "blow off" instead. Cringe.

Scorched · 24/05/2022 10:44

Are they addressing a different audience, to the public and the tribunal

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 24/05/2022 10:44

@IloveHolby CM is Vice Chair of the Bar Council's Ethics Committee. Bio and role in the case is on page 8 above

Bundlephobia · 24/05/2022 10:45

It has only just occurred to me that archiving these threads might not be a bad idea. I've no idea how to do such a thing. Is anyone already doing that? If not can anyone who does know how tell me how to go about it? Or if you have the capacity and are willing to do it that would be fab obviously. I'm a bit hopeless with websites but very willing to have a go if someone can give me instructions.

funnelfanjo · 24/05/2022 10:45

This is my first day of watching while (trying to) WFH. Up to now I've just caught up on threads during breaks but watching it live adds a completely different dimension. Juggling this and work is going to be ... interesting.

Penguintears · 24/05/2022 10:45

I like that there is an observer called "Verity Shambles".

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 10:45

She just got right down there in that hole and started digging, didn’t she?

Her basic premise: nothing wrong with trying to persuade lesbians to have sex with males, because they are females when they say they are, and a lesbian barrister who objects to this is at risk of a breach of the Bar Standards.

Nah.

nauticant · 24/05/2022 10:46

No IloveHolby, she's a QC who works with bar standards who was contacted by GCC to express a view of whether AB crossed the line with her tweets.
