I am an animal lover, I am especially a dog person meaning I like wolves too if we’re talking wildlife. My mum has taken this to mean I’m obsessed with wolves - I’m really not.

Every year at Christmas she buys me something wolf related … it started off as huge framed pictures (often featuring native Americans too 😂) and in the end I had so many massive pictures piled up the spare room that I made a point of telling her I am no longer buying wall pictures as I don’t like a lot of stuff on the walls and I’ve ran out of space. She got the hint and stopped buying me pictures … instead she started buying me huge blankets, fleece bed covers etc, again featuring wolves howling at the moon, native Americans, wolf eyes staring out of dark trees etc 🤦‍♀️

I ended up with a big pile of fleece blankets that were just sat there collecting dust. In the end I asked her if she wanted any blankets as I’m getting rid of loads as I have far too many and don’t use them. She got the hint.

Now … as my birthday this year was approaching she asked me what size clothing I was. I told her. I joked to DH that I’ll probably end up with a wolf fleece jacket for my birthday … I was wrong … I got 3 wolf fleece jackets for my birthday.

I don’t get it!!! I’m in my 30s, she sees me every week … surely she can see that I don’t wear stuff like this?? It was funny at first but now its getting frustrating. She gets upset and offended easily so I’ve tried to treat lightly but come on …

What would you do?? Or do I just carry on accepting this stuff and lying that I like it to keep the peace?

I'm posting here as it tends to get the most responses and I am trying to make a hard decision.

I have 2 beautiful little boys (2 and 8 weeks) I love them more than I ever thought I could love anyone. However, I feel a constant feeling of wanting to have a little girl. I have spoken to my partner about having a 3rd in 2 years or so and he has agreed but I can't quite bring myself to commit the thought in my mind.

Part of me thinks my partner is agreeing to it as he knows its what I want but he isn't overly invested in the 2 we have currently so I'm not sure.

I am also very concious that I could have a 3rd and it would be another boy (I would love him dearly but would I then want a 4th to try for a girl again)

Thirdly I am very aware that the world is bloody expensive and I am trying really hard not to work (or not more than very part time at a minimum wage job) during my boys childhood. We could technically afford 3 without me working/part time but it would be a very basic life for their entire childhood with very little outings or trips etc.

I know in my heart I want more children but would it be unreasonable given the above?

I have been thinking about this. I know there is a good chance I might need to self cath but I am just a bit confused as I have read I would need to self cath maybe 5 times a day but since I have frequency I would need to pee a lot more than that. I mean hopefully it would work and I would only need to go a few times but if it takes a while would I need to self cath about 20 times a day

What is wrong with this listing? Some back story - my in-laws have been desperate to sell up for a while to be nearer to us. They live near Portsmouth, we are in St Albans. They have a beautiful house! It's 5 minutes walk from the beach in Lee-on-Solent, it's right next to the High Street but super quiet. Huge back garden. Beautifully renovated home, when they bought it it hasn't been touched in at least 30 years. It looks immaculate. No it doesn't have the open plan kitchen diner, but what there is, is perfect.

For the first 7 months while they were listing the house, the estate agent was effing up the RightMove listing quite badly - they were only appearing for people looking for bungalows, when it is not a bungalow 🤦 I noticed this recently. 🙄 After pointing it out, it's since been amended to appear to anyone looking for a 3 bedroom detached property in Lee-on-Solent.

Anyway, now that it's appearing to everyone who might want it, AND they've reduced the price (too much, IMO), my mum-in-law is somehow still convinced that the lovely estate agent is now doing his level best for them - still no viewings after a couple of weeks. And they've only EVER had 3 viewings, ever since it was first listed those 7 months ago - none of which were even proceedable. Thoughts, lovely ladies of Mumsnet?

Inspired by a conversation I had about the sub Reddit ‘Rate me’ where people put a picture of themselves up and ask strangers to rate them out of 10 based on how physically attractive they are. Screams of either insecurity or narcissism to me, but got me wondering - how physically attractive do you think you are? What would you rate yourself out of 10? How did you arrive at that number? Eg. What evidence do you have for it? Do you think you’re average or above or below average? Do you think most people perceive themselves as more or less attractive than they actually are? Most of the time, are you happy or unhappy with what you see in the mirror?

So I've just watched a video where shes addressing someone writing an article about her sister and how she used to work as a peads nurse but now makes money online like Stacey because shes better off and get more time with her family.

How is this the way the world works?
Im not disregarding why influencers do it becaise I would if I could being a nurse myself but this is so wrong that this is the best way of getting money these days.

Its the same with ladbaby etc why the hell are all these people getting crazy money for all this stuff.

Sorry just had to rant whilst on my break on night shift on my extra shift that ive taken 🙃

I had a gardener round to quote for trimming some hedges back from my back gate that overhang from the property behind, weeding the patio and jet washing it. Taking all garden waste with them He’s said half a days work for a couple of them max. He’s just emailed me the quote: £750!!! My flabber is truly gasted…. Is this really the going rate?! 5 years ago without the jet washing I paid someone £45!!!

I’ve started looking for a wedding dress - not booked yet but very, very low key next year - 2nd marriage for us both and likely a family meal and night in a hotel for us.

I’m 45, 5ft6, hourglass size 14, grey hair and olive skin/brown eyes. Suit bodycon (appreciate not in fashion rn!), midi or maxi length and like structured, modern looks. Ideally sleeves or shoulders covered, though could add a caplet or similar if sleeveless.

I found this Roland Mouret which is a bargain, and assume I would need to size up to a 16?

Or if anyone has other dresses/designers to suggest -
My budget is around 1k (my dream would be this 5k Vivienne Westwood or this). The only other I have liked online is this (bit ott)

I'd be so glad of some style wisdom please as it's really not a strength I have!

I have this dress -

https://www.next.co.uk/style/su823888/h88417?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23099951489&gbraid=0AAAAADm_5UXuxjQZMtZb_dOvq-fDRJS0l&gclid=CjwKCAjwn4vQBhBsEiwAq3hhN4gwnKjO5oFN7QaQb9N8HiSVRQs61maB0InhRSBYSMQjuv9PyMlxKhoCc_EQAvD_BwE

It is so nice! Really suits me, a lovely shape. However, I've no idea what to wear on my feet. I can't do heels like the model has. I'd like to look "tidy" for work (office but not super super smart) and also something more casual for holiday.

Please help!

In terms of budget, I can do up to around £60 per pair

Thank you

I would like to take my daughter to Africa on holiday. For context, I am Black British and my husband is white. He does not like long-haul flights and is refusing to agree to the trip. His view is that because I visited South Africa four years ago, there is no need for us to travel to Africa again, and that we should choose a closer destination such as Europe instead.
My daughter, who is of mixed African heritage, has never been to Africa and is devastated that she is not being allowed to go.

My husband is threatening to divorce me, should I go ahead and book the holiday?

Hi all,

With summer approaching, I am looking for the best place to buy quality plain T-Shirts. I have bought them from Primark and H&M in the past, but they didn't last very long and the colour faded after only a couple of washes.

I am a size 16 and prefer a loose-fitting T-shirts rather than tight ones. I also would like to buy a range of colours, not just White and Black.

I am desperate to find a pinky nude matte-ish lipstick similar to the ones Lucy Punch wears in Amandaland. I’m quite pale and find Pillow Talk comes out REALLY orange on me.

Does anyone have any ideas?

My husband has been acting strange/secretive with his phone for a couple of weeks now so I took it on myself to look at his phone. Yes I know it’s morally dodgy but we have each others log ins and I looked at it whilst he was feeding DS dinner (it was charging upstairs).

There is a woman who is obviously a co-worker. I only had time to look at messages from the past two days. He was in the office today. He messaged her to say please walk past my desk again so I can look at your arse. She said she’d be back up in an hour and she will walk slowly this time. He then messaged again (after about an hour) to say that was the highlight of his afternoon to which she replied she knew her trousers would get attention today and sent a peach symbol. That was the last message.

I confronted him straight away and he stormed off and hasn’t come home yet. Said how dare I look at his phone. I have tried to call him and he just declined the call. He sent a text to say I’ve betrayed his trust and he can’t believe I did that instead of speaking to him.

Am I wrong to have done this, I think that if you know something is up then it’s within your right to investigate?

3 of us going away for a week, slightly complex logistics with travel and using a firm to book the main bit, it’s a hiking type holiday. We had a chat about it and one friend was going to check out something as was the other friend. Then get a message through saying deposit paid. Surely one more check before that?

My dd is not coming home from uni this summer, even though the holidays 4 months long. All my friends’ children are; all over social media I see posts about not long until they come home and his all these parents can’t wait. We had such a lovely summer last year - a holiday, spa days , lunches and shopping. I had it in my head I’d get two or three more summers until she had a full time job and would move away.
I was getting so excited and now I feel so down about it. I keep thinking I am literally the person paying for her rent in her uni city and I have paid to make myself this unhappy.

So my partner of about 6 months - his son is getting married in about a months time but he told me I’m not invited. Im thinking it’s because we are only “new” ? I mean it hasn’t really bothered me but he wants me to go with him to pick out a new suit and I’m hearing about it nearly every day obviously my partner is excited and I was thinking it would be nice to get dressed up and be included- even if they didn’t want me in family photos which I would understand of course. Is this normal - not to be invited.

I have a good friend. I like her a lot and spend a lot of time with her. I also have lots of other closer friends and a large loving family, some of whom have care needs.

My friend is only close to me. She has recently got divorced and now I have become the person she rings in a crisis...broken down, forgot my purse, sprained my ankle, had a row with someone...they are all genuine crisis but I cannot be her next of kin.
I already have too many people who need me including my dh and kids.

I have had to tell her I do not want to be listed as her next of kin for health. I dont know how to tackle this?

I do feel for her cos she has no other friends or family but thats not my fault? AIBU

I need boys age 8 post operation/surgery tearaway underpants/boxers. Velcro or stud fastenings. I can find them for men but not children. We need them asap.
Cant see how I could make them using cotton jersey boxers/trunks.

Have an event abroad where we have all been asked to wear white. It will be super hot. Love this and it’s in the sale - just struggling to picture if it will make me look like a big fat square or not? Size 12-14, 5ft 8. Average medium build? I just feel like the way it’s been styled on the model has made it really hard for me to picture?.

(I leave in 10 days and the dress I was going to wear I can’t find anywhere! Alternative suggestions welcome)

NC for this.

I was out for dinner with BF, his DC and some friends for BF’s birthday.

He has full custody of his DC.

His xGF, mother of the DC, turned up at the restaurant and started screaming in my face accusing me of hitting the eldest DC and then started asking the DC if I had been drinking something alcoholic. I had one beer with my meal.

Just shocked by it all - she refused the take the children at the weekend when it was her EOW and just turned up with her other DC from another father.

I just don’t know how I should have reacted. I should have walked away and tried to ignore her. But I tried to defend myself. I did ignore at first and even turned my back on her but she came up to my face and pointed her finger in my face.

She can see eldest child’s location on Google Family. I find this a major intrusion in our lives. And must ensure that if the DC are at my house the eldest one doesn’t have their phone.
