Status but every day handbag

I've decided to treat myself, but I don't know where to start.

Firstly I don't know what else to call the kind of bag I'm after, hence "status" bag. I like Chanel, LV, which I know some fashionistas like to sneer at, so please, if that's you, respect that we all have different preferences.

I'm looking for a lovely every day bag, that I don't look stupid with on the school run etc. We live rurally, and didn't before, so all my Chanel and LV with chain straps etc would look majorly over done and I'd feel ridiculous wandering round town on casual shop with one. I do sometimes take my neverful but I'd like something much smaller. Slouchy and comfy as opposed to stiff leather.

What's a casual but still "status" bag that I could go for? I don't like massive gold logos etc like the GG Gucci bags, or the ones with big YSLs down the front. I would like it to be recognisable as branded, but from close up, not from across the street if you see what I mean.

Thank you.

Loewe Puzzle bag

Just Googled.

Whilst some people will no doubt love this, this is not an attractive bag in my opinion.

Hopefully that will help with further suggestions?

Depends how much you want to spend?

Strathberry is nice and doesn’t have in your face branding. This one is new in and I’m very tempted, the bigger size might be better for the school run - https://www.strathberry.com/products/sway-caramel

Also think this Longchamp would be very easy to wear - https://www.longchamp.com/gb/en/products/crossbody-bag-s-10337021001.html

Like these from Celine too -

Thank you 🙏

Strathberry, don't like and looks a bit on the small side.

Longchamps, yes, like this one, but in a bigger brand if there is such a bag?

Celine, like both of these, too similar in size/colour/print to my neverful

The Christian Louboutin Bettina is lovely.

Mulberry. I have a few. Great day bags that look nice, have a bit of status but dont break the bank too much. They run for about 12-1500. I bought one for 1200 but now, tbh I get them second hand from the handbag clinic.

Oh that's lovely! Possibly a touch formal still, and the red inner is akin to my neverful too. However, most likely going on the Christmas list for DH 😁

I've never been a huge fan...aren't they really heavy?

I got bought a Chloe something or other and the leather and buckles were, whilst lovely, so bloody heavy that it was a chore carrying it round with more than a purse in.

Mulberry size and practicality though.

I find that permanently open flap distinctly odd.

Ooh that's lovely in the green suede, but I reckon I need the medium in that size and that's £4k on a shopping handbag. It's going to have baby wipes, biros, purse, phone, likely snacks half eaten and wrapped...

Also, I wouldn't know that particular brand was any kind of brand.

I think £1200 - £1800 is a good range, and if there's a site where I can get an authenticated second hand one, bonus.

If you can hunt one down, I have the dark brown Chanel graffiti hobo bag which is lovely slouchy soft leather and comes with a little inner pouch attached so you can put small bits in that. It's not at all 'obvious' and they do pop up on the preloved sites now and again (I wouldn't have one if they didn't 😁).

This is the only link I could find with decent pictures, sorry (it's missing its pouch) https://theluxurycloset.com/kw-en/women/chanel-vintage-graffiti-dark-brown-leather-mademoiselle-hobo-p1256640?srsltid=AfmBOooMBLYfFlvDo-HmZXCl2aBSkZf9gFUjzoK5SkxpuHFHADIVnlB
