Has anyone tried tanning gummies for a slight skin colour boost?

Has anyone tried tanning gummies? (I’m being targeted on my Facebook feed and keep seeing them)

They apparently just give the skin a slight colour (probably orange).

I wouldn’t mind a slight orange colour- I’m blue white in colour!

I don’t want to take anything dangerous, but from looking on chat gpt they don’t actually affect the melanocytes (like tanning injections and sprays do- I would steer well clear of those!). They just deposit beta carotene pigment into the skin.

Watching with interest, as my legs remain as pale at the end of this hot summer as they were at the start! I’m generally quite risk averse, but would love to have a slight ‘glow’, if there were no adverse effects!

just eat carrots

Surely they can only make you go orange?

Coconutter24 · Yesterday 18:24

I’ve been taking tanning tablets from MyVitamins and they definitely make a difference. Even before any sun exposure my skin had a lovely glow and then during the heatwaves I noticed I tanned a lot quicker than usual

Sounds interesting! What’s in them?

Wild Nutrition Natural Glow is very good for this, but that wasn’t the original question.

OP, i just accept I’m very pale/white now and when I feel u need it I use a light bronzer (Ilia cream bronze) on my face and OSKIA skin drops in my limbs.

I’ve never heard of these! Intrigued! How natural are the results? Same as some previous posters, even though my arms have had a slight tan this summer for some reason my legs remain whiter than white!

If you eat enough carrots you will go orange.

Copper, Biotin, Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin C, beta carotene, lycopene, and L-tyrosine.

I remember these from the 80s, they sent you a bit orange, like eating lots of carrots, I think they are fairly harmless though

OffWith · Yesterday 19:53

The most tanned I ever looked was when I was pregnant with dd, and devloped an addiction to butternut squash soup.

Blondeshavemorefun · Yesterday 20:28

I keep getting ads on fb about tanning tablets

my legs never go brown / where my back /arms etc do

Can you link the one which have please @Coconutter24

and I eat tons of carrots. Always have. Def no tanning agent via them

My mum had a friend who took these in the 80s. I’d forgotten all about them. She was definitely on the orange side so they must work.

L-Tyrosine does affect melanin production, so it’s not an ingredient I would want to take.
This is not on the carotene gummies that I have been looking at.

I don’t actually mind a hint of orange though. Just a faint hint of pigment would make me look healthier than I do.

Yes it’s vanity, but as I’m looking for something “natural”… It seems these gummies, or a simple carotene supplement might just do the trick

I use the dove body lotion with gradual tan on my arms/chest/legs use a mitt and the light shade it just gets rid of my milky whiteness without being patchy or orange and the biggest find of this summer is Bondi beach tanning drops, I put two drops in my nighttime face moisturiser a couple of times a week and I look healthy! I've not even been wearing any make up to work other than mascara. Just make sure to thoroughly wash your hands (I use exfoliating body or face wash)

I can’t seem to link them but they’re from myvitamins.com … if you type ‘tanning tablets’ in the search bar they will come up. I definitely recommend them, they work for me

Those just make me look streaky.... It's a lot of upkeep to avoid looking grubby at the heels, elbows, hands etc and I'm lazy.

You could just drink lots of Sunny Delight!

I only use the drops on my face!

The dove thing is good tbh

Also remember too much beta carotene can cause liver problems.
Vit A is one of the fat soluble so you don't pee it out like vit C
