Every parent knows the moment. One day your child is curled up on the sofa wanting cuddles, and the next they're bouncing off the furniture, covering the walls in stickers or asking for snacks every five minutes. It's chaotic... but it's also a pretty good sign they're feeling more like themselves again.

They don’t want chocolate when they’re poorly, I know saying yes to a mars bar is a sign they’re on the mend

Admitting they're tired with no appetite suggests they're poorly - the exact opposite when they're better (can't get them to bed or to stop eating!!)

In our house it was wanting all the toys out and getting their appetite again.

I looked up from my laptop to see him climbing up the window spiderman-style!

My 5 year old had given all her Barbie dolls a crew cut hairstyle after recovering from feeling poorly!

My child forgot what arm was sore and started holding the wrong one. Time to go back to nursery now!

To be fair, this was more a 'wow she got over it so fast' kind of funny moment, but it wasn't funny at all. DD accidentally shut her thumb in the door and understandably she started crying uncontrollably. She stopped crying once she got a snack for having an ouchy. That was the funny part. In the end, she ended up having a fracture and we had to take her to the hospital. That was the not so funny part!

Haha, my daughter used to say she was too sick to do household chores. But then I'd see her playing about and being all active. Used to let her have her moment sometimes to make her think she got away with it haha.

When they're ill they are usually quiet and like to cwtch on the sofa. You know they're feeling better when they get bored and restless, wanting to be more active. If you leave the room and they start running around they're definitely over it!

I would agree with pp - back to arguing with siblings!!

Getting the brio out of the box and wanting to build a new layout for his trains. Calpol is a real cure for my little ones.

DD had a head injury at school and was sent to hospital for observation. The doctors decided she was fine when they came round to find her ordering me about to do a dance routine

Emptying her toy box when she was supposed to be sleeping and then 'reading' a story to her teddies

Usually when they are running around laughing and suddenly able to eat lots of sweets again

Back to giggling! The kind that makes you laugh along with them. Kids bounce back so quickly; it's amazing to watch.

My dd was ill one day last week. Spent the morning on the sofa with me and didn’t move except for rubbing to the bathroom to be sick.

Come the afternoon she was doing gymnastics on the sofa laughing her head off. No longer ill.

My youngest doesn't like feeling poorly so she'd complain, but as soon as we gave her Calpol or any other fruity medicine, she'd love it and say 'mmmm' hahaha. Thankfully, she hasn't ever lied and said she was ill just so she can take the medicine, but I wouldn't put it past her if she ever did.

Mine was DD being chatty and eating lots. If she is ill she doesn't want to eat, she makes up for it when she is better!

Started laughing. This actually happened recently and boy did it almost give me a heart attack. This was a scary moment at the time where baby fell over, but funny after as baby just went on playing after crying for a bit.

My daughter was lying very quietly on the sofa feeling unwell and with a fever - she’s usually so full of energy and so chatty. I gave her Calpol…..a short while later I looked round to see her jumping up and down on the sofa and when she’d got enough height, she was then launching herself through the air and onto a giant bean bag. She did this and over again 🤣 I even have a video of it, it was priceless.

Enjoying watching tv on the sofa one minute, then around 4pm when their Dad asked me if they were back at school tomorrow saying. 'I'm too poorly to go back to school...I need more...holiday...' This showed that they were better as they were at that stage of enjoying the time off, rather than being too ill still. They tried to correct : holiday - but it was too late..

I was worried when one of mine said they couldn't get out of bed to go to school. They spent the morning sleeping/in bed. By the afternoon I came up with food to find them doing a headstand on the end of their bed. Kids bounce back quickly!
