Is this outfit too much for the office?

Is this too much to wear to the office? I wore it with a belt so wondering if I was over dressed?

Looks lovely to me, I don't think it's too much for work. Depends on your office I guess. I would have poured coffee down it within 5 minutes!

Looks like pretty standard office wear to me.

Depends on your office, but in general it's a pretty simple/classic dress.

In twenty odd years of working, I don't think I have ever seen anyone wear a pure white dress to the office.

It’s a nice dress, I am not sure if it’s suitable for the office.

Sorry it reminds me of a lab coat like a scientist would wear.

All white is an odd choice to wear for a full working day and you would stand out, and probably have some awful stain before too long so in that sense not the best choice

Where did you get such a smashing lab coat from? I especially like the buttons on the pockets to stop items from falling in and out.

I'm a tad puzzled as to why there's buttons on the sleeves. You're not meant to roll your sleeves up in the lab.

Depends where you work. I’ve worn a white shirt dress to the office before, with a scarf belt. Ignore the lab coat jibes, some people have no imagination.

Would look fine with a tan belt imho.

It looks like a nightie or a beach dress, is it see through?. Not sure that 'too much' or 'overdressed' is an issue.

Not overdressed, just a bit of an odd choice for an office. I’m assuming you don’t commute on public transport as it would get filthy.

Would like fine though with a belt. It is a bit on the lab coat side but I’m sure with decent shoes, belt it would look good. Has a bit of an 80s vibe to it.

It’s a bit shroud like. But apart from that, it’s hardly controversial.

My maths teacher would have worn that in 1986 with a contrast belt and matching chunky plastic jewellery. She always looked fabulous.

I like it and its not overdressed at all. I love wearing white but am quite clumsy so have to stick to print or dark colours really.

I've never seen a lab coat look like that or be worn outside of an actual lab. And I used to work next to a lab.

I often wear a couple of all-white dresses to the office (City). Have never spilt anything down them - though by saying that I have clearly jinxed it!

OVER dressed is the last thing I thought of. I personally would never where white for fear of sitting on a dirty chair on my commute or the clothing being see through with underwear visible.

It reminds me of an Islamic mens outfit or lab coat but I can see a belt would change the shape slightly.

Have you never encountered a slip, @7238SM? There’s never any need for one’s underthings to be on show unless that’s the look you intend.

It’s a shirt dress, nothing wrong with it. It would look best with a belt, like all shirt dresses. Yes white can get stained, but that’s a white thing not an office thing.
