The Dark Side of Some of Those Supporting Self ID

I thought of doing this thread a while ago, and the thread about GMB has just reminded me.

This is to collect examples of people companies, etc who have strongly supportedself ID and spouted off about "bigoted" "terfs" who have then shown themselves to be hypocritical/misogynistic/downright dangerous.

Please feel free to add your own examples!

Dakota had been a fervent campaigner for mixed sex spaces. I can’t think why

Jess Bradley was involved with the Sheffield Hallam University project. "Around the toilet"
This project has been used by some Scottish Councils when drawing up plans for new provision of public toilets. ( Heavy emphasis on gender neutral provision. However, very good on disabled provision.

Frankie Boyle: very critical of "terfs" and pro TRA. Which has surprised a lot of people given he has made jokes about rape, VAW and disabled people. Now getting kissed up to by the BBC and Owen Jones, though!

"Owen Jones, who persecutes female colleagues for believing biological sex exists, is sharing a platform with this arch misogynist who specialises in rape gags, mocking people with Down’s syndrome & spoke of being “nuts deep in a dead tranny”. Here’s excerpt from Boyle routine."

"Amazing how men get a free pass from the Left for saying the vilest things. Indeed they get feted at a special Guardian event. Whereas feminists are burned at the stake for saying eg rapists don’t belong in women’s prisons. Why can that be? Thinking face"

Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson (un-affectionately known by many in the city as "Chippy Tits) tabled a motion against Liverpool Resisters.

Accusations of fraud and dodgy dealings have long followed Anderson, and he has FINALLY been arrested on chrages of bribery and witness intimidation.

He also allegedly tipped off a friend of his that he was about to be raided for being suspected of owning CSE material.

Jane Fae definitely belongs on here.

Jane Fae submitted evidence as a trans representative to Maria Miller's report on transgender equality.

Before transistioning Jane, who once claimed to be frightened of Jenny Murray, was a staunch defeneder of violent pornography.

Jane also famously described some murders as being down to '...Domestic violence gone wrong. A blow stuck one time too many, an egg-shell skull".

Jess Bradley was elected as the first Trans NUS Officer in 2017. In this interview with HuffPost, Jess talks about "working to advocate for incarcerated trans people, as well as campaigning for transformative alternatives to prisons and detention centres."

m.huffingtonpost.co.uk/jess-bradley/nus-trans-officer_b_15282134.html

Jess also refers to a female prison being the "right" prison for Tara Hudson (read about Tara's violent past here: thecritic.co.uk/keep-men-out-of-womens-prisons/ ).

Interviewed by Sky News here on the proposed GRA reform.

No proven threat to women if transwomen use our spaces. Our words are "violence" and Jess finds it all very frightening.

1.54: "I don't think there is such a thing as a real woman."

Jess was also a Director of Action for Trans Health and gave oral evidence to the parliamentary enquiry into the proposed GRA reform, being cited 7 times in the report.

ATH also appears to have had some influence over the NHS (outlined in The Times article linked below).

The article outlines some of ATH's crazy demands:

"ATH recently circulated a manifesto demanding “the total abolition of the clinic, of psychiatry and of the medical-industrial complex”. It says all NHS gender identity services must be closed and gender doctors and nurses expelled from the profession and replaced with sex-change “hormones and blockers made available over the counter and by free prescription upon request . . . at any age”."

"Written by Scottish ATH activists and tweeted from ATH’s central account, the manifesto also demands “an end to birth certificates and to legal gender” as they are “a violence against trans people” and “immediate release & pardon for all trans prisoners”. A “GP shitlist” of doctors “disrespectful” to trans people"

The article also talks about how Jess and ATH have excused the use of violence, and even said it is necessary.

Jess Bradley's (even) darker side was exposed in 2018. Jess was found to have been running a blog where they posted photos "...bragging about sexually harassing ("flashing") people and shares images sexualising schoolboys"

There were also allegations made of sexual assault and sexual harassment.

See these twitter threads for further details, if you can stomach them:

twitter.com/xNoMoreSilencex/status/1021093767489695745?s=20

twitter.com/JammersMinde/status/1071898293465202688?s=20

Jess was suspended from the NUS in July of that year.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6003331/Britains-official-transgender-student-officer-suspended.html

The NUS was to run an "investigation" into Bradley's behaviour. As far as I am aware, to this day no action has been taken, or at least the NUS has not disclosed its findings (please correct me if I am wrong). There was also allegedly a criminal investigation?

In 2019, Eden Ladley was elected as the new NUS Trans Officer.

The following is an extract from a blog by Bradley's ex wife. (She is no friend of people she deems to be "terfs", and there are some falsehoods there about things "terfs" have supposedly done, but she at least sees this particular situation for what it is.):

"Jess’ partner, Rob Noon, who was NUS LGBT Officer (Open Place) at the time of the original scandal, was elected in February this year as the only NUS LGBT+ Officer following their structural shake-up.

I have subsequently found out that the new Trans Officer, who was also last year’s LGBT Officer (Women’s Place), is best friends with Jess and also sits on the committee for Action for Trans Health, which was a major grassroots campaign for trans health and has now functionally stopped operating but, over a year since Jess was accused of assaulting ATH members, mysteriously, if erratically, continues to generate and distribute funds to trans individuals for healthcare, merely without any pretence to democracy."

www.sarahmcculloch.com/statement-jess-bradley/

However, in a twist ending, the NUS axed its Trans and International officers as part of its cuts to avoid bankruptcy.

www.google.com/amp/s/cherwell.org/2019/02/04/nus-trans-and-international-officers-axed-amidst-bankruptcy-cutbacks/%3famp

As for Jess Bradley? Well it's all gine very quiet. As has Jess....

I think I have captured all the salient points here, hopefully! I'll put up another post with links to the discussion threads on here.

Many people who were allowed to give 'evidence' for Maria millers report make absolutely no secret of their vested interests. However crazy or dangerous they are.

Obviously there have always been people like this. It's how close they are to power that is disturbing. And now people like Maria Miller either are, or appear to be, ignorant of it all.

SunsetBeetch · 30/12/2020 12:56

Surely there was a massive failure of due diligence here? I'm so grateful for Liz Truss (and I find it absolutely mind-boggling that I have a reason to say that!).
OP posts:
Datun · 30/12/2020 13:46

Indeed. I didn't even want to raise the concept of due diligence. Because it's so far, far beyond the failure of it.

It can't possibly be accidental. There is deliberate blindness because you want to achieve a certain end. And there is deliberate blindness because you simply don't want to look.

The contributions to that report were so manifestly one-sided and she doubled down so vehemently afterwards, it's quite hard to attribute mere negligence to her motives.
