You know the drill though, that one needs to be used up first lowers glasses to give (behave Chocolate!)

Some of us already have btech results, some have unconditionals, but it's a nervous time for most. Lots of Wine Gin Flowers

Hello from the other side too Wink

Iwanttoseethesea · 14/08/2018 08:14

Hello - DS gets BTEC results Thursday - can I join the nervous wait please ?!

BigGreenOlives · 14/08/2018 08:16

Ugh CIE results today - find out one A level.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/08/2018 08:26

Welcome :) We are just finishing up the old thread then we will be right here.

OP posts:
chocolateworshipper · 14/08/2018 09:16

See - I'm not the only naughty one!

Actually, I'm just here to drop off horse shoes, four-leafed clovers and lucky pennies.

Welcome Iwant - DD also did BTECs. I assume DS knows provisional results and you're just waiting for official confirmation after external moderation? DD has had one subject externally moderated already, but I'm assuming they'll send all certificates together once everything has been moderated.

raspberryrippleicecream · 14/08/2018 12:45

Signing in ready for Thursday - though I think we'll be over here by this afternoon!

Bakeandyarn · 14/08/2018 13:15

I’m just going to wait here and keep saluting every single magpie that I see!

Iwanttoseethesea · 14/08/2018 14:30

Yes chocolate , have provisional results but confirmation Thursday. His course is also dependant in Maths GCSE so have to wait another week for that - hoping that they just accept him without it to be honest

chocolateworshipper · 14/08/2018 14:35

Iwant fingers crossed for him - it must be very stressful having to wait for 2 sets of results. If he doesn't get Maths, it might be worth seeing how quickly he could do Functional Skills Maths at a local college. I am told that it is easier that GCSE because it's just the bits of maths that are used in real life - but it's still a level 2 qualification, so equivalent to GCSE. I'm in the lucky position that DD isn't wanting to go to uni, and the only course that she needs for her FT job offer, is the one that has already been externally moderated and confirmed.

ShanghaiDiva · 14/08/2018 14:36

Ds already has his results (IB) but keeping my fingers crossed for all of you on Thursday.
Good luck!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/08/2018 15:26

oops! meant to post the link to this thread again before we closed the old one.

coo-ee we are over here!

OP posts:
Downeyhouse · 14/08/2018 15:51

Found you all.

Meant to be doung my 1000 things for our holiday but have taken to mumsnet instead :)

Around 40 hours to go. Hope you are all holding up.

Ds has been spending his days in the gym and training with the local seniors Team in order to get his fitness up before he gets to Uni.

Ds 2 had a friend here from the UK. They are both 14 and growing like weeds and eating me out of house and home.

HesMyLobster · 14/08/2018 16:00

Eek! Being one "the results" thread makes it all very imminent and real!

I have found a distraction! We are getting a kitten! A friend has a 12 week old kitten but has just been offered a new job that involves a lot of travel, so we're going to adopt him!
We've been thinking of getting one for a while - since our 18 year old tabby passed away in September.
Not perfect timing perhaps, with DD1 about to leave, but will be nice for DD2 to have something positive (and cute!) to focus on!
Collecting him on Friday!
So we need help with names! (He's moggy at the moment, but def want to change that! Hmm)
We're all supposed to be making lists today and comparing later.

offtofeedthesheep · 14/08/2018 16:29

Found you all!! What a cute kitten!

prettybird · 14/08/2018 17:14

Downey - ds has been doing the same (desperately trying to bulk up at the gym) but although he did pre-season with the Seniors, because he's not yet 18, now that they're back into full contact (rugby), he can't train properly with them.

He's still training with the U18 team (even though he'll be leaving it to go off to Uni) and had a belter of a pre season game on Saturday and has yet to decide whether to concentrate on BUCS rugby at his Uni, join the local senior team or join the local U18 team (he turns 18 in September so is technically U18 for the year although once he does turn 18, he can play senior rugby).

Decisions, decisions Grin

@DrPeppersPhD did you see my reply to you on the previous thread?

Right, lots of apologies if I've missed anyone, but the register is really getting quite long now!

Can I hope on? I seem to be more nervous than DD, although I darent ask her to print off PS and GCSE’s, she’d definitely accuse me of having no faith in her!

flatmouse · 14/08/2018 17:30

Here! I'm sure I wasn't this invested in my A level results! Feeling sick with worry re DS who is as chilled as ever.
Thanks (on the other thread) for the commiserations re DS driving test. Sounds like it was down to a joker 😞 he was driving away from kerb. Waiting, had queue of cars behind him. Lady directly behind indicated that he should go ahead, and then obviously changed her mind. Lesson learnt but hard to mitigate against. I suggested if he gets something similar to basically narrate what he's doing. Ie lady behind has flashed her lights for me to go, so I'll check mirrors again then go....
