They've left college, now we are trying not to think about a certain date.

Sticking my head back in for the end. I had an MN break as life got hectic!

<settles in a comfy chair with popcorn, waiting to be told off by kitten>

Lily125 Sun 22-Jul-18 12:12:45

Please can I join too? DS2 is really calm, but I'm in a complete tizz waiting for the 16th.

marmiteloversunite Sun 22-Jul-18 12:26:58

Hi Lily welcome. We are all in a bit of a tizz but don't worry lots of support in here. Is your DC hoping to go to uni? Or do they have a different plan?

ShanghaiDiva Sun 22-Jul-18 12:31:59

Not nervous about results as ds already has his, just nervous about the year ahead - wibble - can't believe he is leaving home and moving 3000 miles away. Have already booked his flight home for December...

marmiteloversunite Sun 22-Jul-18 12:40:12

Shanghai you have made me feel better. Hopefully mine is only going 90 mins up the road. Perhaps we need to be on standby in our various cities for DCs in trouble!

Lily125 Sun 22-Jul-18 13:01:59

Thanks marmite. Yes, he is very much hoping to be off to uni.

marmiteloversunite Sun 22-Jul-18 13:54:03

Lily can we ask which subjects he is taking and where he is hoping to go? If you don't want to tell us though feel free to ignore me!
My DD is hoping to go to Bristol to study music.

TheThirdOfHerName Sun 22-Jul-18 14:10:57

(Aspirational) plan A: History BA at Leicester University. Requires grades higher than he is likely to get.
(Realistic) plan B: History BA at Northampton University. Requires EEE.

chocolateworshipper Sun 22-Jul-18 14:43:00

Welcome Lily

<continues strutting around the new thread as kitten hasn't told me off yet>

UrsulaPandress Sun 22-Jul-18 14:54:42

Have we moved now?

marmiteloversunite Sun 22-Jul-18 15:20:25

gringrinSeems so Ursula!
We can blame it on chocolate!

chocolateworshipper Sun 22-Jul-18 16:29:07

I'm offended - chocolate solves problems, it never causes them apart from my weight problem

<struts around a bit more>

PandaG Sun 22-Jul-18 16:35:09

Hello, found you! Thanks again kitten for a new thread.

Lily125 Sun 22-Jul-18 17:02:57

Pleased to be in touch with you all. DS is aiming to do a Maths/Stats type course and he's really hoping he'll get the grades for his first choice Warwick. I just want him to go somewhere that makes him happy. DS1 did Music so they're quite different to one another.

HardwickWhite Sun 22-Jul-18 17:25:39

Oh my word. I just teared up at the thought of this thread.

Hello everyone. gin

marmiteloversunite Sun 22-Jul-18 19:10:59

Lily My two DDs are complete opposites too. Would be boring if they were the same.

Lily125 Sun 22-Jul-18 19:28:59

marmite yes, would be dull if they were the same.

OhYouBadBadKitten Sun 22-Jul-18 20:07:10

Well done Chocolate for finishing the old thread.

dd made a list of stuff to take. It's four pages long. shock

It would be good if we could make a fairly definitive list building on gnomes and get mn to make a fancy page for it crediting gnomes dd for giving us such a splendid start. What do you reckon? It could be our legacy.
