You know the drill though, that one needs to be used up first lowers glasses to give (behave Chocolate!)

Some of us already have btech results, some have unconditionals, but it's a nervous time for most. Lots of Wine Gin Flowers

24 hours till UCAS Track officially updates!

Janus · 15/08/2018 08:05

Roison, I remember my dd1 being a baby and reading the newspaper and it was talking about a new website for new mums and I joined! Think it was late 2000? There weren’t many threads back then!! I remember some of us met up in a restaurant in London the following year, it seems a long time ago!!
Can’t believe it’s 24 hours ...

chocolateworshipper · 15/08/2018 08:27

@UrsulaPandress awwwww I hope you'll at least come back and see us after results? Sad You've been with us so long, I really would miss you if you don't come back at all

Bakeandyarn · 15/08/2018 08:38

Less than 24 hours, DS’s school opens at 8am so we will know. I slept well last night for the first time in ages, I did dream that I had another baby and we could think of a name for her, when we did decide I couldn’t remember what it was! I’m sure these strange dreams must mean something!

2gorgeousboys · 15/08/2018 08:49

Thanks Petal!

lashingsofgingerbeer · 15/08/2018 08:57

Petal DD doing Degree Apprenticeship if results go according to plan.

Bake maybe you subconsciously went to bed thinking about a name for Lobster's new kitten & dreamt the nameless baby dream instead?? Grin Lots of nurturing dreams on here - must be something to do with having to start the detachment process as all our DC fly! Queue the music & last baby scene in Mama Mia film as I sob into my muesli!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/08/2018 08:59

I hope that Ursula can come back too. We will miss you.

I had one of those high temperature nights where you aren't sure what is real and what isn't. Asked dh if I'd got out of bed and done weird shit but apparently I hadn't. I feel very fluey. Trying to pretend it's not too bad for dd, but what shitty timing. FFS this is dds time, doesn't need me to go and get ill.

OhYouBadBadKitten you have another 24 hours. Keep yourself hydrated, rest as much as you can, take paracetamol or ibuprofen if you need to.

HesMyLobster · 15/08/2018 09:12

Oh no! Hope you feel better soon Kitten, that is really crap timing!
Third's advice is sensible. I'd be tempted to flush it out with alcohol! Wine

I can't actually believe it's tomorrow.

marmiteloversunite · 15/08/2018 09:26

Feel better soon Kitten!

Just saw on a Facebook group a reminder to update Student Finance if you don't end up at your first choice uni. Apparently it can hold up the money if you don't change the uni details. Wouldn't have even thought of that.

flatmouse · 15/08/2018 09:27

What a night! Went to sleep, DDog got me up at 12:30. DS not home and not txt'd (so hopeless at keeping in touch - don't expect hour by hour but brief likely to be home by time useful!). Could t get back to sleep (avoiding the permutations calculations but thinking of 101 other things!). DS home 3:30ish, then lots of up and downstairs. Went to see what was up, he'd left iPhone in taxi! Fortunately Uber with honest driver. He logged onto app on iPad and contacted driver who had found phone and drove all the way back to drop it off (£20 which I think very fair considering).
Still couldn't sleep, finally dropped off around 6 when friend txtd me! Then up at 7 to drop DD at stables!

Hoping this lack of sleep will enable me to sleep tonight......

HesMyLobster · 15/08/2018 09:30

Ouch flatmouse!
I had another broken night too. Determined to keep busy today though - I've all kinds of sorting clearing out to do.
(I might give up and go to the pub by lunchtime though!)

Hoveringhobbit · 15/08/2018 09:31

Ursula hope you are okay?

Kitten hope you feel better soon. Now is a bad time to feel under the weather.

For the first time, DS and I actually made in to school in my dream last night...no crocodiles, barista festivals, Harry Potter buses to get in the way...only to find out he got an A and a 5. Yes a 5 Confused.

Just want it to be over now. Like PPs, it is the not knowing - whatever happens, I can help him deal with it. He's been very quiet the last day or so - I'm keeping a close eye on him given his MH issues last year. 22 and a half hours and counting.....

Hoveringhobbit · 15/08/2018 09:32

Lobster that sounds like my kind of plan

adrinkofwater · 15/08/2018 09:38

Hope you feel better today Kitten.

Quite disappointed in the lack of weird results day dreams to read this morning! I've not had dreams, just keep waking up. Early this morning I realised that although I have been preparing for DD not to get the grades she needs (she wants to do medicine so needs AAA) I've kind of been thinking what she should do with AAB. It suddenly struck me that she could get ABB or BBB or BBC or anything really! So now I need to get my head around that while still hoping that all will be fine!

TheSacredCow · 15/08/2018 09:48

Hi Everyone, can I join in, please? I've posted quite a bit over the last 2 years, and particularly since March 18, when DD became very distracted from her studies and revision by a new and very intense relationship.

DD has now landed herself a peach of a job on a one year contract for her gap year, and will be able to have a few weeks leave in the Autumn to go interrailing.

Hopefully, she will go to Uni next Sept with BF in tow. She needs ABB for both her firm and insurance Uni's, both are equally lovely. However, Chemistry went very badly and English went much better than expected, so she might reapply next year and change courses, who knows.

Best of luck to all of you and your DC, not long now xx

FantasyAndHope · 15/08/2018 09:53

Hi apologies for not been with you all
Dd has had a number of health issues. She had a laparoscopy to look tor endo no end found but 2 sebaceous cysts. Consultant said it can take years to find sometimes. She had an allergic reaction to anaesthetic but they didn’t know at the time and suspected it was a UTI or problem/infection from the op we were sat in A&E for 5 hours to be sent home
Second operation for eye is booked.
They suspect she has arthritis
Dd is panicking about results but knows she hasn’t got her firm place in her heart and has made a list of numbers to call tomorrow
Other than that we are alive and I’ll read back through the thread

Lily125 · 15/08/2018 10:04

I've got an odd dream to share from last night if that'll keep anyone amused, and it's not visibly exam related! With Christmas dinner I'm usually really organised and well planned, but in my dream it all went very wrong. I kept miscounting guests and having to add more and more chairs and place settings, then another table, then one more person (an elderly aunt who would never have travelled on her own) walked in and I realised I'd only made enough food for half of the people there, and also had somehow managed to get a babies highchair stuck fast in a gap between the two tables Hmm.

Janus · 15/08/2018 10:05

Flatmouse what a nice taxi driver! That’s really not much sleep!
Ursula, hope you are ok.
Kitten, really dose yourself up and the lemsip night and day capsules are really good if you can get them, think they have something in the night capsule which helps you sleep which may be good for tonight!
Good luck everyone!

HesMyLobster · 15/08/2018 10:16

Fantasy good to see you! Welcome back!
Sorry your DD has had more health worries - poor thing has been through so much. Everything crossed for you both for tomorrow.

Trufflethewuffle · 15/08/2018 10:25

Keeping myself busy today. The two boys are still in bed but I've been up since 5:45 with pup who has been recovering from the side effects of metacam for her sprained wrist. Thankfully the side effects seem to have gone! Yesterday morning I came down to what looked like (but didn't smell like) several jugs of coffee thrown all over the floor. Boak!

DD gets her GCSE results next week so it's a tense time for us generally. She has her best friend over later for a sleepover so she is frantically cleaning and tidying! I'm off to have lunch with some old friends who are holidaying nearby. Then I'll be joining in with the cleaning, then cooking etc.

Despite being nagged since the spring, DS3 hasn't done his finance application yet. He went to start it yesterday and found that he needs a birth certificate as his passport has expired. We can't find the file with the birth certificates in so I've had to order one. He's always telling me he's an adult and can do things for himself. It's going to be tight! He hasn't applied for accommodation either but I do doubt he will get his first choice so probably not an issue there.

I can feel the grey hairs popping.

marmiteloversunite · 15/08/2018 10:45

Hi Fantasy lovely to have you back. I have been wondering where you were. (Obviously far too involved in this thread!). Sorry that you have had so much worry with your DD. Glad you are back for the final push.

Bakeandyarn · 15/08/2018 10:58

kitten hope you feel better, what rotten timing. The stress must be aggravating things, it’s so intense. DS drove past school just now and saw staff going in, made it seem a bit more real knowing that they know and will be frantically stuffing envelopes!

DrPeppersPhD · 15/08/2018 11:01

Hi TheSacredCow, good to have you!
Kitten, get plenty of rest today, sip from a bottle of water or flat full fat coke if your appetite's not all that and if you need to be functioning today then ibuprofen and paracetamol to keep the fever down. Doctors orders.

TheThirdOfHerName · 15/08/2018 11:44

DS1 has gone out to the gym, then will go straight to a friend's house (and shower there) then stay there for friend's 18th this evening.

The next time I see him will be 8 o'clock tomorrow morning...
