But at the same time I was going to name change but I don't want to because I want to be able to find this again if I need to in the future and because (on the back of the PND thread even though this isn't PND) I have nothing to be ashamed of.

If any of you recognise me in my previous names please don't out me on this thread.

I am going to ring the doctor and get an emergency appointment and see if they can give me antidepressants or something to help I am crying I can't stop I'm stressed I'm not sleeping and my DP told me last night I am over thinking everything and tying myself in knots and could I please go and do something

So I came home in a strop with him and in tears but he's right.

My ex is a head wreck and very difficult to deal with.

I'm a single parent.

I work part time and go to uni full time.

I am having gynae issues and bleeding out every month for 2 or 3 days to the point where I last an hour before I'm soaked through.

I'm so tired just so so tired and I can't sleep

I have a bad shoulder and it hurts all the time it's the hand/arm I use the most and I have to do tons of typing and sitting at the computer for uni and driving and it hurts and I am swallowing ibuprofen every day and they aren't helping

So I am going to ring the doctor this morning and get an emergency appointment and tell them how bad I feel.

I'm scared. Stupid stupid stupid scared.

Surely there are some magazines from 1996 in the waiting room to keep you occupied? Wink

hathorinareddress · 29/03/2012 10:36

You know MN gets such a reputation of being full of bitches but it's not true.

You poor thing! I hope your GP is kind to you and helps you get sorted. You have loads on your plate - you may just need a bit of a break. Hope you're okay x

doctordwt · 29/03/2012 10:45

You'll be fine. Have a damn good cry in there my dear - nothing wrong with that!

Another one coming to this late, but I just wanted to say you are doing the right thing seeing your doctor and I hope he/she has been sympathetic.

Try to be a little kinder to yourself!

Flisspaps · 29/03/2012 11:25

Hope it went well and the doctor was helpful.

Once you've had time to sit and process whatever information/help the doctor has given you, it would probably be worth getting in touch with Student Support at Uni. Not necessarily to get extensions on assignments or whatever, but because they'll be able to help - or put you in touch with people who can help you. It's what they're there for.

Like others have said, depression is an illness, the same as a 'physical' illness where people can see (like a broken leg or something) and you'd take all the help available to help you get over that (plaster cast, crutches, painkillers, physio for example - you wouldn't just hobble about in a plaster cast or with painkillers, a combination of things would be needed) so take all the assistance available to you here as well :)

You've done bloody well to get this far, any one of those issues would make most people struggle, but to battle on with depression, a PITA ex, a painful shoulder, heavy blood loss every few weeks, a teenager AND a full time Uni course? I have nothing but admiration for you!

A final suggestion on the iron front - you can get the Spatone in pre-mixed apple flavour sachets as well as the ones you mix with orange juice so you don't even have to measure anything out or mix anything, you rip the top of the sachet and drink it. It's like a penny-and-apple flavoured shot, not the nicest thing but not the worst. Or Feroglobin B12, which is what I'm using at the moment, sort of orangey flavoured and cough medicine like in texture!

LilRedWG · 29/03/2012 11:26

X-posts.

Fabulous! Now get out in the sunshine and have a well deserved cuppa.

Flisspaps · 29/03/2012 11:26

Cross-posted - excellent news :)

Flisspaps · 29/03/2012 11:28

LilRed Best not have a cup of tea though (seriously) if you're worried about your iron levels. Tannin in tea (I think it's the tannin) can hamper iron absorption. Have a nice cup of something else (juice, squash - is it a bit early for wine?!)

tantrumsandballoons · 29/03/2012 11:28

I'm so pleased for you op, it must be a weight off your mind.
Keep us up to date Smile
