Yes it's the DM sorry.

He kept touching her knee! What was that all about then??

He looked high as a kite. Not that that excuses anything.

MrsOverTheRoad · 29/10/2017 11:33

Did he?? I've not seen the show...DH and I were just talking about him last night..saying how he's made some proper crap films recently.

Can't stand the guy and his style of "humour".

Mumof56 · 29/10/2017 11:41

DI'd you see the Graham Norton show with Tom cruise and Emily blunt?
Here's a clip

warning some viewers may find the content distressing

m.youtube.com/watch?v=t-lkZaS3brA

watech the whole episode for loads of unwanted touching and feeling. The abuse is rife, and on national tv

Garlicansapphire · 29/10/2017 11:53

I saw it and thought Sandler was very odd - not just the touching but either drunk or stoned - not very coherent. It was all round odd.

And Tom Cruise - he's a creepy weirdo but masking from what i hear...

derxa · 29/10/2017 11:53

He's horrible and his films are shit.

StarUtopia · 29/10/2017 12:01

Mumof56 what on earth are you on about??!!

Human touch is normal. Those two are obviously friendly and quite happy with each other.

ContessaBonessa · 29/10/2017 12:03

DH and I were just talking about him last night..saying how he's made some proper crap films recently.

Recently?! He's only ever made crap films.

Silvercatowner · 29/10/2017 12:06

WTF is distressing about the Tom Cruise video clip???

Pumperthepumper · 29/10/2017 12:06

mumof56 I just knew before I watched it that it would be Emily Blunt touching Tom Cruise. What's your point? That women are just as bad as men? They aren't.

user1486915549 · 29/10/2017 12:07

Well I have just watched that Tom cruise / Emily Blunt clip and can’t see what you’re on about. They seem perfectly at ease with each other.
I did however think Adam Sandler was going to get the 3 ladies rounding on him any minute.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/10/2017 12:08

Mumof56

The only touching on there was instigated by Emily Blunt - and it seemed friendly rather than creepy (though it begs the question - if he had been the one touching her shoulder, even if she seemed comfortable with it, would there have been an outcry?).

Not every touch is inappropriate. Not every gesture is unwelcome. Not every hug is predatory.

ZippyCameBack · 29/10/2017 12:09

In the Tom Cruise clip I only saw her touching him, not the other way round. The Adam Sandler clip was a whole different kind of thing. I'm slightly surprised that nobody said anything to him (Emma Thompson doesn't seem to be the kind of person who would be afraid to speak up, for example).

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/10/2017 12:09

Adam Sandler is one of those "stars" who seem to be famous because they are.

I actively avoid films he is in - he's rubbish.

MissionItsPossible · 29/10/2017 12:09

The only touching on there was instigated by Emily Blunt

I think that was the posters point? I don't agree with it though.

ggirl · 29/10/2017 12:10

mumof56 - just watched that clip and he didn't touch her once ..she touched him a few times but what are you meaning ???

Pumperthepumper · 29/10/2017 12:10

Plus the clips are totally different - Adam Sandler touches Claire Foy's knee, she pushes it off, he puts it back on - so he knew she wasnt happy and continues anyway.

Emily Blunt touches Tom Cruise's shoulder and he smiles at her.

Is this not clear to you?

Dozer · 29/10/2017 12:10

I find Adam Sandler, when acting (Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates), very creepy, and would switch an interview with him off.

Sunnydaysrock · 29/10/2017 12:12

I was expecting some terrible pervy behaviour from Tom Cruise then. The clip and anecdote actually made me like him a little bit more. She was being friendly.

Sidge · 29/10/2017 12:13

I’m not an Adam Sandler fan anyway, but thought he was awful on GN on Friday. Boring, mumbling, tedious.

Such a contrast to Emma Thompson who is witty, clever and can certainly entertain on a chat show.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/10/2017 12:13

Mission

Ah - Have misunderstood - it's emphasising that this is not just M on F that is offensive. Sorry - as you were.

I think that I am so used (culturally speaking) to expecting that any unwanted touching will be a M touching a F that this totally passed me by.

Apologies to all.

However although he doesn't reciprocate - seems to maintain a distance - he doesn't look uncomfortable. (Though had I been her I wouldn't have done it a second time - perhaps he doesn't want to risk being tarred with the HW brush)

Yarboosucks · 29/10/2017 12:15

Bloody hell, this is getting ridiculous. He put his hand on her knee - would touching her elbow be offensive? Daily Fail faux outrage shite based on some effing tweets. FFS!

Dailystuck71 · 29/10/2017 12:16

I don’t find the tom cruise clip distressing at all.....should I?

Yarboosucks · 29/10/2017 12:18

and as for the Tom Cruise clip…. Distressing????? Humans touch each other! Get over it!

Looneytune253 · 29/10/2017 12:19

To be fair I watched it and I did notice it considering she had to remove his hand from her leg. It was quite uncomfortable and I’m not usually too bothered about this sort of thing.
