Why is he touching her knee at all?

one decent film does not make a career!

He had one decent film?

I remember being amazed to read that Sandler is apparently one of Hollywood's most bankable stars. To me it seems as though he just makes turgid flop after turgid flop but he clearly has a large fanbase!

He's just so utterly lacking in any kind of charisma.

There's always a lot of touching between the celebs on GN, it's the only show I know where this happens, friendly bunch they are.
However, Claire Foy obviously didn't want Sandlers hand there, and did the right thing in brushing it away, good for her.
It's also very noticeable how much they fidget on that sofa, but that's another story!!

I agree with Chip too. Having read most of this thread without watching the clip I was ready to be appalled by Sandler's behaviour. After watching it, and listening, it was so brief and in context to the story he was telling that I think most people have massively over reacted. If it had been a male or female he would have touched their knee. He was not touching her in a sexual predatory way.

The second touch was a more reassuring tap to show he didn't mean anything by it.

AS was on Jimmy Fallon last week and kept putting his hand on Dustin Hoffman's knee too, over and over and over. V weird. If some bloke i was sitting next to kept putting his hand on my knee, anecdote or not, I wouldn't be comfortable with it.

Chocolate I just watched that and didn't see him touch Dustin's knee once!

How do you reassure someone you didn't mean to do something by doing the exact thing again

It is clear from that clip that Foy doesn't want him to touch her knee. She brushes it off once, and then pats it and moves it off again. She is clearly agitated. They are not in a film together, they don't know each other. Why was he even resting his hand on her knee? There was no need for it. She's not a sofa arm rest!

I watched the show and didn't notice him touching her leg but I did think he was weird and out of it.

Haven't watched it, but it's not surprising.

Sandler's earlier films were mildly amusing - DS loves Happy Gilmore - but the later ones are just plain misogynistic. I thought Pixels would be a fun film to reminisce about old computer games and enjoy with DS, instead it was a lesson on how unattractive middle aged blokes seem to think they're entitled to mate with thin, silent, attractive young females, which aren't lessons I'm keen to teach my child.

If you’re talking about Hollywood...men decide.

I think he looked wasted. Interested to see if Claire Foy will comment on the headline.

thesmallthings I’ve probably not expressed myself well, but believe me it wasn’t a film that had any positive values.

Sandler was def odd on the show. Didn't come across well at all, and the hand on knee thing was creepy.

Shame goady fuckery has come onto this thread.

Pattingn someones knee is a tactile move but you cant do it to someone you dont know.

This is actually great example of a man whose been given a clear body language that the action is not wanted but either doesnt pick up on it or ignores it.

Or you know just educate people so women don't have to walk around expecting sexual assault or harassment

I watched it and we commented as this happened after he'd done similar to Tho mson, though she just sat there with his hand on her knee. Whereas Fo y made a point of removing it.
