Same here - hope your health picks up.

Side note "Bohemian Rich Bitch" sounds like an amazing aesthetic.

Thanks for the new thread Bo, and adding my good wishes for a quick recovery.

Equally taken with the Boho rich bitch aesthetic... Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac springs to mind; it's quite a 70s look, that never quite goes away.

And we do wear pink, viz, the pink sequinned skirt! We just don't often buy it. Although there seems to be a lot of it about, and it was all over the Oscars.

Hello! I’m back (previously peonylover). Baby peony was born Monday last week and I am looking forward to getting back into some more interesting clothes soon.
Hope you’re all well and that Bo returns to health soon.

Congratulations! How exciting Flowers lovely to hear from you again Maxima.

Thanks for all the well wishes, will get the last of the test results back at the end of this week hopefully, Monday latest. Keeping fingers crossed it's something minor and not a proper flare up otherwise I'm not sure I'll make it to the Dior meetup Sad

Ah Stevie I would find you all a pic but I'm still supposed to be working. No-one wore a hat like she did. And no-one does breakups like Fleetwood Mac. I love it that they're still falling out, 40 years later.

Um this may not be the time to mention it, but one of my wedding standby outfits is a 1960s Jackie K-ish suit and oh boy is it pink. I kid you not, it's like this But in deference to Karl (and because they hurt my feet) I promise no flip flops, no matter what.

Congratulations Maxima - hope you're enjoying your baby.

Fingers crossed bo

When is the Dior meet-up? If there are any tickets left I’d love to join!

botemp · 06/03/2019 19:45

Monday the 18th of March at 13.30 but pretty sure tickets are sold out by now but you can still buy them on the day I think.

Congratulations Maxima and welcome back; we've missed you. A toast to Minimus/Minima [champagne] Wine Flowers. Hope new arrival is giving you time to think frocks, and it would be lovely to see you on 18 March if you can score a ticket.

Flo, Wall London closed down about a year ago and was generally shapeless Lagenlook, but lovely colours and fabrics. Be very careful.

red I would absolutely wear that pink one! So I hope posting it wasn’t a joke for the thread title Grin Doubt it’s my size though.
I missed green silk dress, 15 mins before it ended my 3yo started throwing up, and that’s where my week has gone. I’ve got it too now but am up with my sad feverish 9mo.
Congratulations maxima. Very exciting!
Hope you feel better soon bo - I have been strongly reminded this week of how miserable being unwell is, you forget to value good health until you have a little less of it.

The links described as Kaftany at the end of the last thread were an eye opener. I’d not have described them as kaftan like and realised how much camilla frank has defined the kaftan for me Blush , when the garment has a long and rich history. Rather embarassed.

Congratulations Maxima! Nice to see you back. Maxima, Minima and Minimus have always been my internet names for my kids though so let’s go easy on them here so I don’t get confused 😉

Thanks so much everyone for all the links. I feel really ungrateful but none of then are quite doing it for me, not even the lovely pink Finery one or the Joseph aubergine. Part of the problem is, I can't work out why I like that Arket one so much. I don't even wear dresses very often these days and there are so many things about it - black, floppy fabric, bad sleeves - that should rule it out straight away. But it was an eyes across a crowded room, Omar-Sharif-spots-Julie-Christie moment.

In another sign I'm losing the plot, I'm also slightly obsessed with this from Toast. It's a jumpsuit, it's linen, it'll make my arse look bigger than China, it's sleeveless, it's two hundred quid. And yet here I am. Maybe I'm having a late life (it can't be midlife) crisis and the next time I post I'll have bought a sports car.

Is it the models you are attracted to? ;)

Report
Floisme · 07/03/2019 07:56

Ha! could be Grin Although I can't even remember what they look like. Who knows what's going on.

And now I've seen Toast have got jumpsuits with sleeves. Maybe I need help.

banivani · 07/03/2019 08:10

It's the general aura they exude sometimes. ;) I think you like the linen jumpsuit partly because of the texture, the menswear pyjama stripe vibe and the aura of easy dressing.

Report
Floisme · 07/03/2019 08:37

Yes aura - that's the word.

Report
botemp · 07/03/2019 09:01

Flo, since you appear to be embracing your inner Bohemian Ritch Bitch -they talk crystals and aura all the time, you're past the point of return, I'm afraid best start working on the perma tan. I'm just making note of it now as I fully expect us all to be invited to the wedding next year in Ibiza when you marry the Boy Toy, né the Cabana Boy. May I suggest a pink dress code, flip flops optional?

I'm sure something like espadrille wedges or embroidered Moroccan slippers would be equally acceptable, don't you think Bo?

Oh Maxima congratulations on baby 👶!

flo I am enjoying so much this virtual find the perfect dress activity.
Actually, I am very tempted myself to put a bid on that pink finery one . Thank god is not time’s size otherwise she would outbid me!

I am all up for an Ibiza wedding party, in my previous life I am sure I was a hippy, albeit a very rich one with all commodities of modern life.

That J Kish pink suit you mentioned flo gets my vote in all honesty I imaginate you in the front row of those wedding photos. Want to see a photo of that suit , please indulge me.

Maxima Welcome back and congratulations!

Congrats Maxima and hope you feel better Bo.

All the kaftan talk is reminding me of Imogen, where our Yorkshire heroine ends up on glamorous holiday on the Riviera with a journalist, an MP, and a tennis player, and two models wearing peacock feather dresses and triangle bikinis, and all she has is a bathing dress with moth in the seat and two orange kaftans nicked from a jumble sale.

I can see why you like the Arket one, Flo. I had a look at Kin as have seen similar shapes there and came across this dress - www.johnlewis.com/kin-kimono-dress-burgundy/p3861078 - but doesn't have the lovely simplicity of the Arket one.

Well if it’s actually a beachfront Ibiza wedding then I think you do need Camilla Frank! www.theoutnet.com/en-gb/shop/product/coverups_cod7668287966268031.html#dept=INTL_Camilla_DESIGNERS
Actually some of the prints these days are very nice- I don’t remember the prints being as sophisticated , or the prices quite so high Shock
