SK being very, very, very wary here. Especially at the mention of Mermaids. He has no idea what their position is. Oh dear no.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 23/05/2022 15:25

Clymene · 23/05/2022 15:21

Right, he thinks that gender critical beliefs are transphobic but he doesn't think that at the same time.

He’s got two brains…

Mollyollydolly · 23/05/2022 15:25

He has a twitter account.
He tries to limit his engagement with it.
Discussion around Mermaids and them attending an event at Garden Court.
He's very hesitant about his knowledge of Mermaids and what affirmation means and the controversy around Mermaids.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 23/05/2022 15:25

Whoop! The Cass Review - mentioned by BC.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 23/05/2022 15:25

Wtf? 'I know Mermaids position is controversial but I don't know how/why??'

MythicalReasonableTwitterUser · 23/05/2022 15:26

SC re affirmative approach (paraphrased) "I apologize, I'm just very reluctant to give you a straight answer"

LipbalmOrKnickers · 23/05/2022 15:26

NonHypotheticalLurkingParent · 23/05/2022 15:23

That's because he's got two brains

😂👌

FacebookPhotos · 23/05/2022 15:26

OMG did he just admit he knew something about how twitter works?!

Penguintears · 23/05/2022 15:26

He doesn't know what "affirmative" means apparently.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 23/05/2022 15:27

I know, Lipbalm...🤨

What a sanctimonious little shit head he is??

VestofAbsurdity · 23/05/2022 15:27

TopKnotch · 23/05/2022 15:19

Omg, am I watching as a man outlines the narrow selection of women he will allow to have a reaction to a male body in a single sex female space? They have to be mentally unwell to have a reaction and he may concede that is allowed?

Anyone else having a reaction to that male body in their single sex female space is irrational...?!

Will there be a special test we have to sit through before being allowed this dispensation?

You know what SC you raging MRA just fuck off telling women what they can and can't have what they can and can't do.

ickky · 23/05/2022 15:28

LipbalmOrKnickers · 23/05/2022 15:25

Wtf? 'I know Mermaids position is controversial but I don't know how/why??'

Yes and then goes on to say watching waiting vs affirmative care. But he has no idea about Mermaids.

Maybe his answers are, 1st part - 1st brain, 2nd part - 2nd brain.

Great Stephen Whittle intervention there, their comment that presenting as a woman means grabbing a bucket so they look like a cleaner.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 23/05/2022 15:28

All these people who have no idea about anything: did it never occur to them to leave well alone? Or to educate themselves on both sides of the argument & then decide on their position?

theemperorhasnoclothes · 23/05/2022 15:28

Rightsraptor · 23/05/2022 15:18

So S Clark thinks women have to have trauma before being allowed single sex spaces. Thanks, Steve.

How much trauma? Does S Clark get to decide? Does being leered at in the street and groped on public transport from the age of 11 count?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 23/05/2022 15:28

'Let me dis-aggregate the answer'

Just answer the question like a normal human being - that's easy peasy lemon squeezy, Steve.

GettingMarriedAgain · 23/05/2022 15:29

NonHypotheticalLurkingParent · 23/05/2022 15:23

That's because he's got two brains

😂

Mollyollydolly · 23/05/2022 15:29

BC quoting Mr Whittle's statements at the meeting. Whittle characterised feminists as fanatics and funded by right wing USA blah blah.

ickky · 23/05/2022 15:29

There are easier ways of attacking women than going through gender reassignment.

Yes making a declaration is very difficult. 😡

ifIwerenotanandroid · 23/05/2022 15:29

OMG don't get me started on what BC's talking about now.

Who is Mr Whittle?

Tallisker · 23/05/2022 15:30

easy peasy lemon squeezy, Stevie Grin

Mmmnotsure · 23/05/2022 15:30

He can remember a lot suddenly about particular points some people made some time ago.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 23/05/2022 15:30

able to cut through the factual and legal complexity to get to the heart of the issues

“Epitomises a number of key qualities at the Bar: fearlessness, mastery of detail and an ability to identify the essence of a legal issue and presentation skills that seem effortless, undoubtedly as his preparation is so extensive and targeted”

A number of GCC's barristers have text like that in their bio. After the performances we've seen from several senior members now, I'd think that a number of them should revise that text given the extensive and shared inability to remember anything or to have actually paused to read up on a controversial matter before forming a view.

We shall draw a veil about how much one might rely upon them reading an email or understanding text, or even participating in a meeting/conversation and comprehending what was said.

nauticant · 23/05/2022 15:30

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Whittle

They've said some very interesting things on MN over the years.

FingonTheValiant · 23/05/2022 15:30

I enjoy them failing to understand words life « endemic » and « affirmative » in questions they don’t like, and then reply with words like « disaggregate » and « infelicitous »
