He's doubling down. He's saying that if he clicks on a tweet it does not present him with replies. Is he actually being honest to say this?

ickky · 23/05/2022 11:26

Pyjamagame · 23/05/2022 11:24

Just directed some anger into cleaning my filthy oven. It has come up a treat.

Oh the angry cleaning is great, you get so much done.

I once got a stubborn tree stump and roots out when raging. 😂

Maybe he’s one of those Twitter users who never notices anything anyone other than him is saying.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 23/05/2022 11:26

Ok. So he has no clue how Twitter works but professes to be a regular user whereas Kirrin Medcalf is not a Twitter specialist but can speak at length about how it works.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 23/05/2022 11:26

IHadToEducateMyself · 23/05/2022 11:25

Ooh, a 'regular twitter user' who actually admits it!
and then goes on that he doesn't know how to see the replies to a tweet.
Could you make this up?

Since 2011.

He's never once seen a reply.

What?

I should think it's easy to see if he's ever responded to a comment by someone else in a thread (indicating he can see comments and replies).

Helleofabore · 23/05/2022 11:26

Oh dear. They seem to have all been very happy to have outsourced their brain to the couple of people who were saying they were getting a 'hammering' without actually looking further.

So, this seems to all be based on a couple of people's agenda within the chambers and barrister's willingness to not check out for themselves to assure they are making the right decision.

Gabcsika · 23/05/2022 11:26

Thing is, if you're a "regular twitter user" that's one thing, but if you are high up in Chambers and their reputation is being damaged you're no longer a regular Twitter user, but an invested one. And what's more you're not NOT going to click on tweets or look up usernames.

I do all the time if people are tweeting me - even out of curiosity.

Either they guy was uncurious, which would be weird if he's so invested in GCC chambers or he's full of shit.

Penguintears · 23/05/2022 11:27

MW says maybe his Twitter account is set up differently from other people so that he can't see replies!!!

LipbalmOrKnickers · 23/05/2022 11:27

MS said she was on Twitter too IdisagreeMrHochhauser - the others are Twitter-refusers (allegedly.) JK has an account but no username(??) and never uses it.

rogdmum · 23/05/2022 11:27

I’m currently left speechless. He has 37,000 tweets in his tweet history and claims he doesn’t know how to view replies?

tabbycatstripy · 23/05/2022 11:27

Either way, it’s not good enough. If he didn’t see the responses, he should have looked. He was happy enough to consider what AB said and the complaints they received. He should have paid more attention.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 23/05/2022 11:27

Bingo. Very busy! Big case!

Helleofabore · 23/05/2022 11:27

Oh.... and there is only a 'few' tweets that are abusive against AB according to MW.

tabbycatstripy · 23/05/2022 11:28

“Maybe my Twitter works differently...”

Dying.

Penguintears · 23/05/2022 11:28

I wasn't there. I didn't know. I can't remember. I didn't see it.

It's just not believable.

Clymene · 23/05/2022 11:28

He didn't look at the replies Allison got because he was too busy! Not too busy to read the complaints, but too busy to read the abuse.

They are very busy all these people aren't they? Probably because they have such poor memories.

FacebookPhotos · 23/05/2022 11:28

Is he actually being honest to say this?

I don't believe him.

ickky · 23/05/2022 11:28

Penguintears · 23/05/2022 11:27

MW says maybe his Twitter account is set up differently from other people so that he can't see replies!!!

Yes, it's amazing all these GCC Barristers have a custom twitter, no one else has that bespoke privilege.

OP posts:
Mmmnotsure · 23/05/2022 11:29

BC: Not credible that between the three of you at GCC no one clicked on the replies and did not see the abuse that AB was receiving

MW: I was v busy that day

malloo · 23/05/2022 11:29

I think he knows that it is just not credible that none of them could see the replies on twitter so falling back on the old 'I was too busy to look at them'

Everywhereatonce · 23/05/2022 11:29

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/05/2022 11:04

That's reclaiming a slur. You know, like "queer"?

Haha, decades passed before 'queer' was reclaimed.

The timeline for 't&rf' being a slur to reclaimation was about 6 months.

😆

Mmmnotsure · 23/05/2022 11:30

Does anyone know how many tweets this 'twitter storm' comprised of?

Penguintears · 23/05/2022 11:30

Apparently "gender extremism is about to meet its match" (which AB tweeted) is just another form of extremism.

He is trying to imply that LGBA is an extremist organisation.

ickky · 23/05/2022 11:30

@mum61

Yes, it's as simple as that.
The TRA party line is 'everything is transphobic' and it's not possible to be pro-woman. You are simply anti-trans and, therefore, a terf.
