It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Hi everyone! Im getting back on this thread again after dropping off in July. I wasn't watching what I ate on our holidays and could feel the weight creeping up.
I'm ready to fully focus on losing the weight and starting to feel good and healthy again.
My plan is to lose 2-3 kg each month until I reach my goal. It feels more manageable that way.

blizymitzy · 01/09/2025 10:11

Can I join you guys.
I need to loose 1.5/2 stone before a family wedding next May and I really need to get fit and tone up too .
I’m counting calories and trying to follow a Mediterranean diet and going to walk more and generally do more than I have been.
currently 12st 9 lb and would like to be 10.13 ideally.
I’m 53 ,on Hrt and feel sluggish, aching and stiff .

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/09/2025 10:42

Morning all! I did a 1st of the month weigh in today - 10st 10lbs. Hoping to lose 6lbs in 6 weeks as an interim goal for an October holiday, so will need to lose 1lb per week this month.

I’m usually a little higher at the beginning of the week so fingers crossed I shave a little off that by Wednesday.

Good luck for September WOWers!

and well doing for maintaining @TheRealHousewife given all your health woes, fingers crossed for your September target!

Marshmellowbunny · 01/09/2025 14:22

@TheRealHousewife thank you for sharing the calendar! I'm going to try and use it for September.

The 1st is all about self care. I'm really terrible at it. But I think I'm going to go home and go for a run, have a bath maybe (it's been a long time since I had one), maybe paint my nails and try and make myself feel nice.

What does everyone do for self care? I'd like some new ideas if anyone does anything different 💖

ChelseaDetective · 01/09/2025 17:35

Hello all…I’d like to join.

4’ 11” , age 54
SW 10st 13 (30 June)
CW 9st 11
GW 8st 12

My weight in June this year was the heaviest I’ve ever been. I put a bit on in my forties but had got back down to my ‘normal’ of about eight and a half stone in March 2020…yeah.

Determined to lose another 13lbs by the end of the year and keep it off.

I’m doing a (very) loose version of the fast 800 plan because, you know, I’m 4’ 11”. Meals are easy, its avoiding the snacking that I find hard, I can eat my weight in crisps of an evening, especially (and disastrously) corn snacks.

WoodlandDragon · 01/09/2025 18:41

Lovely to see the thread buzzing! Am also in the glad they're back to school club - tomorrow here. Had a nice last day of the holidays though off with them, have gone over cals a little but not disasterously, I'll correct for that this week with a lighter day Aiming for averages here!

Also dropping in for a starting weigh-in.
SW @ start of 2025: 94kg
CW: 91.6kg
GW: 79kg (into normal BMI)

Going to try to do something self-caring this evening too. A good way to start the month!

Emmadaily · 01/09/2025 18:42

Hi everyone
I'm all ready for a super September ☺
I started SW saturday the 26th of July this year.
I was quite upset after I saw my weight and realised how much I had gained 😔
I came away with a plan of losing 24 pounds in time for my daughters daughters 40th meal out celebration the end of October.
Im.pleased to say that
I am really enjoying the SW healthy approach of losing weight and finding it easier than any other diet I have ever done in the past when I needed to lose weight post pregnancy's and post operations
So far I have lost 12 pounds
I was exactly 10 stones last Saturday so I'm half way to my 24 pounds goal tho I might change my goal to 9 stones i will see how I feel then
I do understand the weight loss will slow down but for now I'm really enjoying it
So yes Super September here I come
Good luck everyone ☺

FridayNighFeeling · 01/09/2025 19:44

Hello all the newbies and returners too.

Did OK today. Difficult to reign it in even after one day of going off course! Out tomorrow with not a load of choice, but that's just lunch - breakfast and tea will be OK. All about balance in the longer term isn't it?

Self care??? Normally to stuff myself full of chocolate - will definitely need to give it some thought.

Marshmellowbunny · 01/09/2025 19:54

@FridayNighFeeling oh chocolate! I've managed to kick that habit but it's so gooood 👍🏻we have some Belgian chocolate from Belgium in the fridge. I might have to have a tiny bit as a treat!

Although, I've not done as well as usual as it was my first day back at work after summer! I did go for a run though. Hmmm.

Well done everyone whose still trying! I don't know if it'll be easier or harder as we leave summer behind.

Ah well. Hello everyone 👋🏻 we can do this! 💪🏻

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/09/2025 20:53

A successful first day of the month here. I got a good night’s sleep, kept to my calories (with some to spare to help balance out going over at the weekend) and did a strength class.

B - boiled egg with toast
L - homemade tomato and sweet potato soup, falafel and humous, satsuma, packet of quavers
D - goulash, mash, steamed cabbage.

my only snack was a handful of grapes. I could really do with dropping my lunchtime pack of quavers but I do like something carby/crunchy to have, and I’m not sure what to swap it out with that isn’t too calorific.

Exercise wise, I re-started the Les mills strength development programme. I can’t lift particularly heavy, but I did make sure I pushed myself just enough. My thighs are going to feel a bit wobbly in a couple of days.

i have two big social functions later in the week which will prove challenging on the calorie counting front, but I shall make them my easier days on nutracheck and go as easy as I can on the other days (although I will be away from home and travelling a fair bit so it will be hard).

TheWayTheLightFalls · 01/09/2025 21:04

Mixed day here. Managed OMAD but the One Meal was a McDonald’s breakfast with DD Grin Probably fine overall.

biscuitcat · 01/09/2025 21:21

Argh I was doing so well today, but this afternoon was an absolute shocker - kids all going ape, I’m exhausted from night wakes so don’t really have the bandwidth to manage very well, so ended up eating a load of biscuits because I was stressed 😩 even as I was doing it I was telling myself that eating your feelings is a bad idea!

Let’s hope tomorrow is less stressful - or at the very least, that I choose more productive ways of managing the stress!

If anyone has any thoughts on something that hits the spot in the same way a biscuit does I’d appreciate it! I think I’m after something crunchy and sweet, but not juicy like fruit.

LemonDrizzle23 · 01/09/2025 21:35

Going to attempt to post every day of September to keep me motivated!

1st Sep - over on calories (blasted airport toblerone! I made DH finish it off…)
11,000 steps
Move ring filled

Last day of summer hols tomorrow. It’s been a good one. DS is at such a gorgeous age. I don’t want him to grow any more please 😩

HollyGolightly4 · 01/09/2025 21:39

I'm returning after a hiatus 🥰. I need a kick up the bum and some sparkling September motivation! I've exercised loads over summer but I've also eaten. So I must get back into calorie counting!!

narcASD · 01/09/2025 21:42

Ooh I’d like to join please? Heaviest I’ve ever been and utterly miserable about it, decided today I’m counting calories again (lost over 4st doing MFP years ago).

PreetyinPurple · 01/09/2025 22:38

Been starving today, can only think that adding more cardio at the gym is having this effect! Tried to go for a walk today and we had torrential rain!

frostedshreddie · 02/09/2025 06:29

Welcome to all newbies 😊
Good Morning everyone 🩷
@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo I bloody love Les Mils!!
Body Pump at the gym used to be my absolute fave!

I have just done a lovely Yoga With Adriene stretch, before a super busy day today. Psyching myself up for it.
Psyching myself up for the whole week tbh with school routines starting again tomorrow!!

piccolopuppy · 02/09/2025 06:44

I'd like to join too. I've got 10-15kg to lose, no real timeframe but would like to be a good chunk of the way there by Christmas.

In the past I've had success with WW but I'm calorie counting this time. I know that I stick to it more when I can work little treats in every day, but found that really hard to do on WW and it just felt joy-less.

Welcome! Would really recommend HappyScale (free version), to motivate you through the difficult bits. It's hugely helpful.

Weighed this morning at 73.5kg. What seems to be happening is that my lowest weight is sloooowly dropping, but I still swing up near 75kg when I'm on my period / when I overeat or even just go big on carbs. I think it's broadly fine. Bought in the ingredients for a basic veg and cabbage soup yesterday, which I'll make a big vat of today.

PatienceOfEngels · 02/09/2025 08:02

Morning all! Sunny here again.

Today's plan:
-3 x pf exercises
-cycle into town and back
-30 minutes meditative yoga

-boiled egg and rye toast, butter, coffee
-pepper omelette
-chicken casserole with baked potato and green beans

I will leave the last cinnamon rolls for the kids and not eat them myself! I will not eat cheese and nuts in front of the TV tonight!

Onionringswithasideofgravey · 02/09/2025 08:27

Morning all! Main goal today - don’t eat all the biscuits 😬 I weighed this morning and yesterday’s indulgences don’t seem to have do done too much damage but sadly won’t get away with that all the time!

I had Greek yogurt with honey and strawberries for breakfast, which is what I have almost every day, and I think I’ll make French onion soup for dinner as it’s all grey and rainy. I’m taking the kids to soft play so will have lunch there, luckily they have a great cafe, so will see what I fancy!

PreetyinPurple · 02/09/2025 09:54

Creeping down! My average weight loss is 0.3kg which is a pound I think, so that’s fine…

Morning all. Aiming for another good day today going into month three. Yoghurt and an apple for breakfast (same every day, at 1.00pm), dinner with DH but with veg not carbs, and (the thing that keeps me going!) a supper of Sarotti hot chocolate and another apple later in the evening.

Fasting after dinner does not work for me at all as I used to binge at night and a small, controlled supper is far preferable to that.
