Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️ Juicy July 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

@BlueOysterCultGroupie once it’s done it’s off the to-do list for a few years.

No breakfast here today, just black coffee. Taking the kids swimming then lunch.

biscuitcat · 07/08/2025 09:56

So frustrating @PreetyinPurple - but you’re doing brilliantly. Are you drinking plenty of water? That can sometimes help with a tough plateau!

And remember, the time is going to pass anyway - staying the same and tiny losses are all amazing progress, because you’re not gaining, and over time it’ll all add up to something amazing 💜

PreetyinPurple · 07/08/2025 10:02

I think we’ve had covid again and I don’t know if that has messed things up.
I know when I was very fit before I had to up my calories to lose weight but I don’t feel like I’m there yet. Although I’m not even eating my calories at the moment, I’m not a huge eater. It was biscuits/toast/wine that make me put the weight on and I’ve dumped them.
anyway off for a power walk.

Determinedloser · 07/08/2025 12:14

Everyone is doing so well. Especially those staying the same but not giving up.

Someone told me yesterday my deficit is too much. It’s 250 calories because I’m trying to be realistic and I know that 500 would make it too hard for me. Surely that’s nonsense? This feels really doable for me.

socks1107 · 07/08/2025 12:24

@prettyinpurple I had a stall in April it drove me mad. I increased my calories, started watching my macros and it started moving again and I’ve lost another stone. Increasing seemed to work but not giving up was the best thing.
re look at your exercise etc and go up or down from there, lots of water and movement.
I get very fed up when weight bounces up as it did yesterday but today it’s firmly back down again and I still have another 1.5 stone to go. I doubt I’ll do that by Xmas as my weight loss is slow but I keep going. Keep reminding yourself why your here and keep posting we’re all doing this together in our own way

PreetyinPurple · 07/08/2025 12:54

Been for a 40 minute power walk and I’m feel a bit better.
I am meant to be joining the gym and wanted to lose some weight before I went to classes to cope with the jumping etc.
Ill either do exercise video or bike later too.

That sounds absolutely fine, not too much at all.

@PreetyinPurple I recommend weighing daily and recording your weight / Happy Scale, lots of water and lots of non-food treats to keep you motivated.

A kg of weight loss is around 7500 calories, iirc. There are 7,700kcals (kcal=calorie) worth of energy in 1kg of fat. That means in order to burn 1kg of fat, you must have a calorie deficit of 7,700. Deficit of 250 cals a day - losing around 1kg a month (with variations for hormone fluctuations etc). Sounds just fine.

Bufftailed · 07/08/2025 15:31

Thanks for new thread. Done a couple of 3ks this week as training for 10k. Feeling good. And finally some progress to report for WOW (day late..)

SW 80.9 kg
CW 79.7 kg
GW 72.4 kg

Off the starting block three weeks in! Thanks for inspiring me 💙

Skyglimmer · 07/08/2025 16:01

I will be weighing in at the weekend as only started again Monday. I have managed to eat within my calorie goal the past 4 days and started back on our walking pad again.

Alwayslearning25 · 07/08/2025 18:10

I'm coming to the end of my holidays. I've not been excersising or eating well and my knees are feeling painful. A few months back I went to the GP about my knees and discovered I'm slightly hypermobile and low muscle around my knees so was given exercises to help. They do.... when I remember to do them. I'm in my 30s with small children and I think carried around my littlest on my hip too much and putting on weight has caused hip and knee pain, mostly on the left. Anyone else. I know getting into shape and loosing weight will help

Coulddowithanap · 07/08/2025 18:17

SW 191.9
CW 182.3

Another 2lb down this week. I've had a few tough days with thinking logging every calorie is so very hard but got through them.

LemonDrizzle23 · 07/08/2025 20:13

DS had a club this morning, so I managed to get out for a walk this morning and another this evening! With a bit of shopping I’ve managed nearly 20,000 steps today. Stretching out a bit now.

Also discovered four mini Christmas puddings in a box in the garage today 😂 obviously we didn’t get to those in 2024! Not sure I can justify a Christmas pud with a beach holiday in two weeks time... So I shall save them for September.

dayslikethese1 · 07/08/2025 23:22

What's the date on them lemon? You could always save them for Christmas🎄

LittleCarrot12 · 08/08/2025 07:52

So had my first weigh in today. Was really nervous!

SW 12st 8
CW. 12st 3
GW. 10 stone

I was quite bloated last week so think a bit of that was water but still chuffed as when I attempted this last year I didn’t lose anything. Weighing my food is making a difference I think.

LemonDrizzle23 · 08/08/2025 07:52

@dayslikethese1 they’re good til Jan 26! So we could keep them for Christmas again. It does feel a bit odd to eat them when it’s not Christmas 😂

Amazing first weigh in! Well done. Do you use Happy Scale? It’s fab for predicting your losses.

Never heard of that! Will look into
that.

dayslikethese1 · 08/08/2025 18:08

2 lbs down today. I don't weigh every week but if I do, it's on a Friday. I want to lose 4 more lbs ideally as i still feel a bit wobbly round the middle. Last bit is usually the trickiest.

Fellsbells · 08/08/2025 19:01

Highs and lows for me this week. I’ve eaten too much sugar because my DC baked and I ate most of it. On the plus side I have walked or run every day so on the whole it’s balanced itself out.

Bonus points to me for not ordering anything from the takeaway tonight. I had a healthy homemade option instead.

I’m still a couple of lbs above where I was two weeks ago, but my ‘bounce up’ high weight is now 4lbs lower than a month ago.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 08/08/2025 20:09

Just thought I'd come and share my day.... Had breakfast this morning, then a 5 mile walk and then take out pizza for lunch - ate about 1200 kal, but before I'd not have bothered to look at that. Wasn't feeling hungry at the end of my eating window, so I've just stopped there, which means I will have 19-20 hours of fasting before tomorrow.

Would never have done that in the past, I'd have eaten anyway - despite not being hungry or eat late. Instead I'm telling myself I've had enough and I can eat again tomorrow.

London trip planned so a mix of sitting on train & lots of walking and lunch etc out...

I'm seeing some good stuff on here, well done all of you!

dayslikethese1 · 09/08/2025 06:35

I do that blueoyster some days I'm just not that hungry so I eat less and some days more hungry so it'll be a higher calorie day. I often find I'm kind of doing a 5/2 without doing it deliberately. You just have to do what works for you I reckon.

Skyglimmer · 09/08/2025 06:37

Weigh day for me and I'm 1.4kg down since Monday so I'm pleased with that. 5.7kg until my goal weight but I may have to keep going as I store all my fat in my stomach and boobs 😥

LemonDrizzle23 · 09/08/2025 07:38

Happy weekend everyone!
We’re off out for the day, which should mean I get some steps in! And we have a gym session booked in for tomorrow. Monday night we’re out for dinner, but after that I have a few quiet days and some daycare, so will be doing some fasting and some workouts.

I put on several pounds last summer holidays, so whilst I would like to be losing at the moment, I will take “maintaining” for now.

It’s going to get HOT again here next week. And then we will be away in southern Europe, so a few warm weeks coming up before we head back to school!

BornInBradford · 09/08/2025 07:46

Checking in and joining this thread, so pleased to come across it, I’ve just got refocused on losing almost a stone that has crept on (with some ups and downs) over the last few years. SW 138lb, GW 126lb.
Going to go back to what worked when younger - lots of veg, fibre and lean protein, with the odd treat. Would love to get there before a holiday in mid October.
