Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️ Juicy July 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

It’s HOT HOT HOT!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Checking in…

TheWayTheLightFalls · 31/07/2025 17:09

Checking in! Thank you @TheRealHousewife .

TealSloth · 31/07/2025 17:15

Am on. Good to hear from you @TheRealHousewife
Thankyou for another month boost.

LemonDrizzle23 · 31/07/2025 17:28

Keep on keeping on if that’s all you can do for now @TheRealHousewife. Thank you for the new thread.

Last month of summer! We go away at the end of the month which I’m looking forward to. Have bought a few new bits, but with autumn approaching I didn’t want to go too mad. I will survive in baggy clothes. Hopefully next summer will be a whole new wardrobe!

frostedshreddie · 31/07/2025 19:00

Thank you for the new thread @TheRealHousewife, glad to hear you have been feeling much better 🤩

socks1107 · 31/07/2025 19:03

Checking in for month 8! I’d like to be below the next half stone bracket by September 1st. That’s 3.5lbs so achievable hopefully

Ellen936 · 31/07/2025 19:08

Thank you @TheRealHousewife

If I can get through today without saying “I’ll start the diet tomorrow as it’s a new month” it’ll be a non-scales victory. Putting it here to help hold myself to account.

Good luck throughout August everyone. Let’s hope that this time next year we will all be feeling (even more) fabulous.

Fellsbells · 31/07/2025 19:13

Thank you @TheRealHousewife

checking in for August.

Checking in for August!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 31/07/2025 21:37

Checking in for August. Will WI tomorrow if I can.

So glad to hear you're feeling OK @TheRealHousewife but do take it easy!

PropertyGeek525 · 31/07/2025 21:45

Hi, this is the first time I’ve checked in.
My SW is 161lbs and my BMI is 25.9.
I’d like my BMI to be 25 by the 1st September.
I’m aiming to eat less and move more. I’m learning about portion sizes and I’ve cut out evening snacking. I started 3 days ago and aim to keep going throughout August.
Good luck to everyone here.

Marshmellowbunny · 31/07/2025 21:53

Checking in before I go away tomorrow 🧡

I'm going to get properly serious when I'm back!

@TheRealHousewife thank you for the new thread and glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. Sorry you're not completely out of the woods! Thinking of you.

Alwayslearning25 · 01/08/2025 06:51

Placemarking. I'm on holiday now but will weigh when I get back... I did some excersice as I was feeling achy taking 4 days break from it, it's a home excersice, no equipment app.

PatienceOfEngels · 01/08/2025 07:48

Will check in properly on Sunday with weight and goals. last day of holiday here so using up our self-catering food for breakfast and dinner, out for pub lunch with family and then spending most of tomorrow in the car.

Have definitely put on weight in 2 weeks away. Feeling so full and bloated. Did a tonne of walking in the first week, barely any this week. Still fitting in short yoga practice every day. Have had too much pizza, processed meat, chips, crisps and cheese, though have stayed off the booze/sweet stuff and made sure I have had enough fruit (and some veg though nowhere nearly enough).

When we get back I have 2 more weeks summer holiday. Planning to really make some drastic changes to my diet/movement as I feel so awful about myself the last few months. Going to clear the house/garden up as well which I hope will make me feel better. Also into back to school mode with all the new bits that need buying. Focus also on relaxation and stress management, as I'm an emotional eater.

Wishing you all a happy August!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/08/2025 08:04

Check in - thanks @TheRealHousewife !

I did a weigh in today, and was almost three pounds up on Wednesday! But I’m feeling bloated and having another period (thanks perimenopause), so I’m not taking that as a real reading.

my goal for August is to find time to exercise and try and not overindulge. I’ve got time off work, several trips to the Edinburgh fringe snd and a few parties this month so temptation at every corner. I will try and be mindful about what I eat, particularly on other days, in the hope that I can at least maintain. I’m not going to beat myself up though, I love August, it’s a good fun month here.

LemograssLollipop · 01/08/2025 08:27

This was exactly the thread I can on to find today, thank you @TheRealHousewife 😊

On holiday at an all inclusive hotel right now. Days are revolving around meal times and I'm indulging. I am at 12 stone and would like to be at 10.5 by Christmas.
I'm an emotional eater and don't have regular meals so grab what I can. I eat at night once the kids are asleep and there is peace in the house. A couple of years ago I tried Herbalife but have put it all back on.

When we get back I will put a plan together but for now, checking in!

Fellsbells · 01/08/2025 08:30

Happy August everyone.

I’m starting the month at a consistent 9st 9. I lost 3lbs in July which I’m really happy about. I am calorie counting, running and strength training.

Aim for the month is to lose another 2-3lbs, keep up with eating well and looking after myself. I don’t want to pick up my old bad habits of eating sweet treats all the time. They make me hungry, grumpy and bloaty.

Challenges are keeping my calories low enough. Unfortunately as I’m over 40 and not particularly tall my TDEE with a deficit is quite low. I’ve tried not tracking and I quickly go off the rails.

Happy August everyone ☀️

TW 12st 13lbs
GW 12st 7lbs

really disappointed with how my weight is going. I somehow managed to put on 3lbs this week and have no idea how! I’m going away in just
over two weeks and would like to lose 6lbs, which I know is a lot but think I can possibly do it! I’m going to try and do yoga everyday and cut down on carbs.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend ☺️

TheRealHousewife · 01/08/2025 08:47

Good Morning Everyone

Great to see so many of you committing to our August thread 👍

Im not overthinking this month as I’m still dealing with a few health issues. That said I’m committed to continue to eat healthy with moderate portions.

I've put on nearly a stone since last year when I lost nearly a stone doing lower carb so I need to get back into the groove.
My doctor told me off which prompted the weight loss saying being 60kg was putting my knees under strain.
I managed to get to 55kg
Obviously some people said I was looking older/
O haggard as I'm 55 but I was happy for my knees
Anyway today is the first day of healthy mindful eating again

LemograssLollipop · 01/08/2025 09:07

How do people put together a plan to lose weight ie decide which eating patterns to follow? I need something more specific than 'eat less' plus I'm over 45 and I keep reading it's harder to lose weight at this age.
I'm in Liverpool is anyone can recommend a gym/trainer/anything.

It’s 90% diet, gym trainer etc is great but won’t help you lose weight.

All diets work by calorie restriction. The trick is finding what is easiest for your body. For me mornings are busy, so I skip breakfast and then wrap up after early dinners with the kids. Other people cut carbs etc.

LemograssLollipop · 01/08/2025 09:28

Thanks @TheWayTheLightFalls I'm going to sit down and give it some thought, perhaps on the plane home.

Coulddowithanap · 01/08/2025 09:32

Checking in for August 😄
I lost 9lb last month which is fantastic, it was my first month actually trying and sticking to my calories in my fitness pal. I will get into the 12s this month but expecting it to be harder as I tend to struggle after a few weeks of dieting but with calorie counting I can have the odd packet of crisps or chocolate bar so I don't feel like I'm missing out too much.

Good luck everyone!
